The United Nations and the Push for Global Religion – Part 2

Part 1 of this series established that in the forthcoming Aquarian Age sought by New Age occultists, Christian teachings that avow the supremacy of Jesus Christ will not be welcomed. The United Nations plays a large role in this endeavor seeking to create a global religion that excludes Christ’s ardent disciples. Also highlighted were several occult personalities who helped steer the mission and activity of the United Nations in its formative years. But the work of individuals like Alice Bailey and Pierre Teilhard de Chardin was just the beginning. What follows reveals an even broader scheme to bring all world religions together under one banner.

Global Religion By Whatever Means Necessary

In 1999, occultists Steve and Barbara Rother of ESPAVO began presenting live “channeling” sessions at U.N. meetings. In the sessions, U.N. staff heard messages from supposed angels simply known as “The group.” ESPAVO is an organization dedicated to spreading “light.” Its name allegedly translates to “thank you for taking your power” and refers to the secret work of global esoteric enlightenment.

ESPAVO CEO Steve Rother has written seven books based on channeled messages. Below, Rother comments on a message delivered on April 26, 2000, stating:

“The following channel was presented to the Esoteric Society at the United Nations in Vienna, Austria…In the audience were delegates, department heads, office managers, secretaries, engineers, and scientists from the Atomic Energy Agency. Directly following this presentation we presented what we believe is the first class on channeling ever presented at a United Nations facility…

The VIC Esoteric Society meets in the Vienna International Community which is an international city housing all parts of the United Nations. The members are primarily employees of the United Nations and many of its subsidiary organizations including UNIDO (the United Nations Industrial Organization), The Atomic Energy Agency (which oversees all atomic activity globally), UCBDO and several others…

This European tour in April/May 2000 lasted five weeks. During this time Barbara and I presented seven seminars, including two corporate ones… If you had told me six years ago that I would be teaching a class on channeling at the United Nations I would have thought you were crazy.” (emphasis added)

The following is an excerpt from the channeled message:

“The information we bring this night is about the formation of groups that will bring back the greatest of governments that has ever visited the Planet of Free Choice… There are those of you in this room and those of you reading this who will act upon this information… Imagine a day when the governments of the world talk as one. Imagine a day when the religions of the world find harmony. Imagine a day when the hearts of mankind find balance through seeking their commonalities instead of searching for their differences. We tell you that day is at hand…

We challenge you to create the organization necessary to make room for the blending of all the religions of the world…” (emphasis added)

In a message from a March 23, 2001 U.N. conference, “The group” proclaimed:

“…If we were to pull the veil aside for a brief moment you might see the greatest secret of all. There is a God and you are it! …Oh dear ones, we tell you, you are not a part of God. You are the whole of God.”

Through “The group,” ESPAVO peddled the same satanically inspired messages as Alice Bailey’s “Tibetan” and Madame Blavatsky’s “M. Morya.” Their presentations further demonstrate how the U.N. has conspired with the occult to create a global religious government, or what Robert Muller termed a “world spiritual democracy.” However, New Agers and occultists are not the only ones peddling this utopian vision. In fact, people of all faiths and belief systems are on board with Muller’s dream. Within Christianity, the seeds were planted at least a century ago with the launch of the ecumenical movement.

Christian Unity or Grave Deception?

The origins of ecumenism can be traced to several individuals. To keep things brief, I will focus on a few including Dr. Walter Rauschenbusch, Dr. Harry F. Ward, and the Rockefeller family.

Walter Rauschenbusch

Walter Rauschenbusch was a theologian, pastor, and member of the British Fabian Society. As a Fabian, he worked alongside famous members like H.G. Wells, Bertrand Russell, George Bernard Shaw, and Sinclair Lewis. The Fabians sought to create a Marxist/Socialist world government by slowly and stealthily undermining democratic governance, eroding national sovereignty, and strengthening international economic cooperation. In The Milner-Fabian Conspiracy, author Ioan Ratiu describes the negative outcomes of socialism, writing:

Socialism is falsely projected by its sponsors, followers and supporters as a benign system aiming to raise the living standard of all citizens through equal access to resources, etc. In reality, it is a subversive system aiming to destroy the existing order and seize power as part of its agenda of world domination. In addition, socialism has often achieved the opposite of what it had promised, as exemplified by Stalinism in Soviet Russia, Maoism in China, etc., where after decades of State-imposed socialism the ruling regimes went bankrupt and were forced to import food from capitalist countries like the U.S.A. in order to feed their starving populations. Finally, socialism has been responsible for some of the most serious crimes in history. Apart from systematic political and religious repression, it has resulted in the death of millions of innocent people.”

Rauschenbusch was known as the father of the social gospel. His students at Rochester Theological Seminary were taught a steady diet of socialism, global governance, and the false doctrine of “social salvation.” His gospel exchanged personal redemption through Christ for a collective call to improve the world through social justice. To Rauschenbusch, the Kingdom of God expands not through personal salvation and relationship with Jesus Christ, but through wealth redistribution and economic reform to eradicate poverty. He once declared, “The only power that can make socialism succeed, if it is established, is religion. It cannot work in an irreligious country.” According to Rauschenbusch, Jesus’ priority was not saving sinners, but saving society through “social passion.”

…we have seen how Dr. Walter Rauschenbusch… and the leaders of the social-action movements in the churches decided to do away with Christian individualism and turn to outright collectivism, using the church as their instrument…. Religion was only a means toward achieving socialism. And, like all other false prophets who have infiltrated religion through the centuries, [Rauschenbusch] used a ‘front’ or disguise. This disguise, as we have seen, was ‘The Kingdom of God.’”

Rauschenbusch and his “social gospel” provided the philosophy for the collectivist movement which has drained much of American Protestantism of its effect on man and his life. Dr. Harry F. Ward contributed the organizational and conspiratorial genius to the movement.”

Dr. Harry F. Ward

Rauschenbusch’s co-conspirator Dr. Harry F. Ward was a minister, professor, and political activist who founded the Methodist Federation for Social Action, a Communist front group in 1908. Posing as a tried-and-true Methodist, he infiltrated the Union Theological Seminary (a Rockefeller funded school) where he spread communism under the guise of Christian ethics from 1918 to 1941. Ward helped found the American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU) and served as its chairman for twenty years beginning in 1920. He resigned in 1940 when the ACLU decided to ban Communists from holding office. He supported eugenics and encouraged Christians to help remove “the causes that produce the weak.” His greatest contribution to the ecumenical, social gospel movement was the creation of the Federal Council of Churches of Christ in America (FCCCA).

With the financial support of the Rockefellers, Rauschenbusch and his Fabian colleague, Rev. Harry F. Ward (also known as the “Red Dean” for his communist beliefs), started the Federal Council of Churches… According to a publication of the Federal Council of Churches, Ward sought to produce “a changed attitude on the part of many church members concerning the purpose and function both of the Church and Christianity.”

With the formation of the FCCCA, the communist-infused doctrines of social and economic reform were disseminated throughout Christian denominations. By rebranding Jesus as the “first socialist” the Council began subverting labor unions, industry, and education. It was deeply involved in causes such as disarmament, temperance, race relations, and international cooperation. Through the Council, the Communist message gained footing and slowly sabotaged disciple making (Christianity’s primary goal) by replacing it with societal improvement.

John D. Rockefeller Sr.

The Rockefeller Family, known for the oil empire created by John D. Rockefeller Sr., achieved worldwide influence on finance, politics, education, media, and healthcare. However, what is not widely known are their contributions to the cause of ecumenism and interfaith relations. Through gifts and grants from the Rockefeller Foundation, they funded churches, organizations, seminaries, and universities to unify opposing factions of Christianity. However, the intent was not to strengthen Christian unity under the banner of Christ but to establish liberal and socialist views throughout its ranks in preparation for a world government. Their funding of and involvement with the FCCCA proves this point.

The Federal Council of Churches of Christ in America has been used most regularly by the Rockefellers personally to further their interests in church circles… The extent of personal activity of the Rockefellers in the FCCCA is out of proportion to their meagre personal financial contribution.

For many years no conference or meeting of the Council was complete without an address by [John Foster] Dulles or one of the Rockefellers. In one such address before the Protestant Council, New York City, on January 31, 1935, John D. Jr. suggested that the future of the Christian Church is the Buddhist and Roman concept of “the Church of the Living God”, with an intimation that he would make a good god.” (emphasis added)

Equipped with great generational wealth, John D. Rockefeller Jr. played a considerable role in shaping the future of Christianity throughout much of the 20^th century. In 1917 he gave a speech entitled The Christian Church–What of Its Future?, where he proclaimed:

It would pronounce ordinance, ritual, creed, all non-essential for admission into the Kingdom of God, or His Church… Its object would be to promote applied religion, not theoretical religion. This would involve its sympathetic interest in all the great problems of human life; in social and moral problems, those of industry and business, the civic and educational problems; in all such as touch the life of man…

I see all denominational emphasis set aside… I see the church molding the thought of the world as it has never done before, leading in all great movements as it should. I see it literally establishing the Kingdom of God on earth.”

John D. Rockefeller Jr.

Building upon his ecumenical concept, John D. Jr. was instrumental in forming the Interchurch World Movement in 1919. With this move, he began shifting away from his father’s fundamentalist leanings toward liberal theology, which denounced Protestant sectarianism. The Movement was created to formally unite the denominations under the social gospel umbrella.

Though the Movement ultimately failed, John D. Jr. continued to promote the spirit of ecumenism and is believed to have donated over $70 million to churches and religious organizations. Through de facto bribery,

…Junior continued giving substantial sums in grants every year to a wide range of Protestant institutions, from a low total of $698,000 in 1922 to a high of $5,585,000 in 1929. Invariably he was gently trying to push his ecumenical approach with the theological seminaries, missionary bodies, and Baptist organizations that were the recipients of the gifts.”

The Rockefeller Archive Center describes John D. Jr. as a man who was “deeply interested in matters relating to the Protestant church, and a leader in the interfaith movement…He gave millions to the building of Riverside Church and for the Interchurch Center… He also contributed across sectarian lines, supporting Roman Catholic and Jewish organizations…JDR Jr. deplored narrow denominationalism, and in many speeches and articles he urged the reuniting of Christendom.” During a radio broadcast on July 8, 1941, his shift to a collectivist vision of God was cemented when he stated, “I believe in an all-wise and all-loving God, named by whatever name…”

JDR Jr. took matters into his own hands by building his own church. Riverside Church, with its 20-floor tower overlooking the Hudson River, is a non-denominational fellowship welcoming all believers in Christ. It has played an integral part in ecumenism, liberal theology, and social justice.

Harry Emerson Fosdick

The pastor of Riverside Church was Harry Emerson Fosdick, brother of Rockefeller lawyer and Foundation president Raymond B. Fosdick. Harry Fosdick was a close associate who served on the Rockefeller Foundation board for many years. He was an ardent believer in world government and the progressive movement with the church.

As pastor of the First Presbyterian Church of New York, Fosdick preached a sermon entitled “Shall the Fundamentalists Win.” The message challenged essential Christian teachings such as the virgin birth, divine inspiration of the Bible, original sin and Christ’s atonement, and the second coming of Christ. Adhering to “higher criticism,” Fosdick believed that progressives had a duty to question Christian teachings in light of scientific discoveries such as evolution. He accused fundamentalists of being intolerant for holding on to core beliefs.

The views expressed by theologians like [Charles] Briggs and Fosdick were called “Modernism,” which also included denying Christ’s divinity, miracles and resurrection. In short, Modernism was not merely a quibbling over some gray area in a passage of scripture; it was a complete repudiation of the faith’s major tenets. And with Rockefeller backing, it made its way into seminaries, Christian colleges and churches across America. Modernism did not simply “happen”; it was an orchestrated, financed agenda.

The sermon caused quite a stir and served as a line of demarcation between Protestant denominations. As a result, Fosdick found himself under investigation by the local presbytery. He was defended by Rockefeller trustee, FCCCA collaborator, Council on Foreign Relations (CFR) member, and former U.S. Secretary of State John Foster Dulles. With pressure mounting, Fosdick was forced to resign from First Presbyterian, leading to his eventual role as pastor of Rockefeller’s liberal leaning Riverside Church. These events placed a wedge between the “Modernists” and fundamentalists that continues to this day.

Building the U.N. Global Religion

The Rockefellers and their well-connected religious, political, and financial affiliates contributed greatly to the Communist/Socialist movement that infiltrated Protestant denominations in the 20^th century. They also exerted much influence over the establishment of the failed League of Nations and its successor, the United Nations. In fact, it was John D. Jr. who gave the U.N. $8.5 million to buy the land for its Manhattan headquarters.

To further illustrate Rockefeller complicity in establishing socialism and communism within the UN, consider the following statements from authors Emanuel Josephson and Ioan Ratiu:

…The plan of the United Nations was written at Yalta by Molotov, representing the Soviets, and by Alger Hiss, representing the Rockefeller-Soviet Axis and the Foreign Office of the Rockefeller Empire, the Council on Foreign Relations, and incidentally, also, the State Department… From the very start, the Rockefeller-Soviet brand was stamped all over the United Nations. The U.S. delegation to the San Francisco Conference virtually was entirely a Rockefeller delegation. The family was directly represented by Nelson Rockefeller and by John Foster Dulles, who served the U.S. State Department as “adviser”. (emphasis added)

The United Nations… was a Socialist organization backed by international financial interests such as the Rockefellers. Its main (permanent) founding members were Socialist-dominated Britain, Socialist (Marxist-Leninist) Russia, Liberal Socialist USA (under Democrat and New-Deal author Roosevelt), Socialist France (under Charles de Gaulle’s coalition government of Communists, Socialists and Christian Democrats) and National Socialist China (under “Red General” Chiang Kai-shek) … the U.N. was run by Socialists from inception.” (emphasis added)

The Rockefellers had most people fooled, as they were usually seen as generous, upstanding citizens fighting for the common man and betterment of society. However, Antony Sutton uncovered the Rockefeller family’s funding of Bolshevism in his 1974 book Wall Street and the Bolshevik Revolution. Edwin Black exposed their support of Hitler’s eugenics program in The Horrifying American Roots of Nazi Eugenics. Emanuel Josephson revealed their collaboration with Soviet Communists to establish a world government in Rockefeller “Internationalist”: The Man Who Misrules the World. The U.N. is the world government envisioned by these duplicitous actors.

The American Coalition Carving the Path to World Socialist Religion

Forged a century ago through seemingly noble intentions, the ecumenical movement has grown into an octopus whose tentacles reach around the world and permeate all levels of society. Organizations such as the World Council of Churches (WCC), National Council of Churches, and United Religions Initiative (URI) sit at the forefront of the emerging world spiritual democracy.

The World Council of Churches

The World Council of Churches (WCC) is yet another organization that arose from Rockefeller connections and financing. The subversion of Christianity accelerated with its establishment in 1948. Headquartered in Switzerland within a twenty-minute drive from the U.N.’s Geneva office, Chateau de Bossey functions as the WCC Ecumenical Institute headquarters. The land it resides on was purchased with funds donated by Rockefeller Jr. Its Ecumenical Office to the United Nations (EOUN) is headquartered within U.N. offices in New York City. The Manhattan branch influences policy and decision making among member states and other intergovernmental and multilateral institutions. Its stated mission is “to call the churches to the goal of visible unity in one faith and in one eucharistic fellowship…”

John D. Jr.

John D. Jr. and close friend John Mott helped create the WCC. Rockefeller Jr. financed the commission (along with the Carnegie Foundation) leading to the WCC’s creation, and Mott became its first honorary president in 1948. Mott was a Methodist layman, renowned community organizer, Nobel Peace prize winner, and founder of the YMCA. He was called the “father of the ecumenical movement.” As WCC president, Mott quickly began the work of using the newly united denominations to expand the socialist message worldwide. In his 1944 book The Larger Evangelism, Mott stated, “The larger evangelism demands a larger message. Nothing short of the integral individual and social gospel will suffice.”

Buried deep within the WCC’s Report of the 10^th Assembly, held in 2013, the ongoing connection to the U.N. is revealed (with emphasis added):

“We have the opportunity of being partners with other important global institutions with common goals and interests… And we are ready to contribute to the renewal of the United Nations organization, to become an expression of “we the people” and not only “we the nations,” as the U.N. Charter itself formulates it…” (p. 228)

“Through the report of the general secretary and a presentation in the thematic plenary, the assembly has heard of the need to continue the WCC’s prophetic voice to international organisations, such as the United Nations. We are also being called to be in partnership with these organisations on common goals and interests.” (p. 246)

“We believe that peacebuilding in a globalized and interdependent world is a shared responsibility of sovereign states, the United Nations, and civil society groups, including the churches.” (p. 281)

Peace, security, gender justice, indigenous rights, and violent extremism headline the concerns of the WCC’s EOUN. However, its second most important priority is advancing the U.N.’s Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), a key tool in the development of global governance. As a major propaganda arm for the U.N.’s climate change scam and related Agenda 21/2030 goals, the WCC report further proclaimed:

“Human beings are to respect, protect and care for nature. Yet our excessive consumption of fossil fuels and other resources is doing great violence to people and the planet. Climate change, only one consequence of human lifestyles and national policies, poses a global threat to justice and peace… The World Council of Churches (WCC) was among the first to warn about the dangers of climate change.” (p. 284)

“…the WCC and its member churches need to face the urgent threats of a global climate emergency: We must act now: If we don’t change our behaviour, in 50 years our planet will be uninhabitable. … the WCC is the only faith-based organization that has a permanent presence in the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC) process, and it has been present at all the UN climate conferences since the 1992 Earth Summit in Rio de Janeiro.” (Report of the 11^th Assembly, 2022, p. 39)

Currently, the WCC has 352 member churches in more than 120 countries representing most Christian denominations along with independent churches. Though not an official member, the Catholic Church also cooperates with the WCC through its Joint Working Group and Faith and Order Commission. Its current and long-term focus is on fighting for religious freedom and human dignity, combating racism and ecological injustice, and establishing world peace, not preaching the gospel and making disciples of all nations. It craftily functions as a religious extension of Marxism, emphasizing doing good deeds in Christ’s name while ignoring His great commission and call to repentance. Full of compromise, it deemphasizes essential Christian doctrine for the ability to work with other religions on social causes.

The National Council of Churches

Like the WCC, the National Council of Churches (NCC) is fully immersed in the social gospel. With Rockefeller roots and headquartered on Rockefeller-owned land, it began as the Federal Council of Churches in 1908 and later merged with several other ecumenical organizations to form the National Council of Churches in 1950. Sitting adjacent to Columbia University, Union Theological Seminary, and the Rockefellers’ Riverside Church, the NCC represents more than 30 million U.S. Christians. Its purpose is to “live as a community of denominations called by Christ to visible unity and sent forth in the Spirit to promote God’s justice, peace, and the healing of the world.”

As the NCC continued its shift to the far left by embracing Liberation theology and supporting Marxist movements like the Sandinista’s of Nicaragua, its influence waned, causing many mainline congregants to leave their churches. Today, the NCC is housed in a small suite on Capitol Hill, a far cry from the prestigious New York City location where it began its operations.

The priorities of today’s downsized NCC include ending racism, reducing mass incarceration, and promoting interreligious dialogue. Its Social Creed for a 21^st Century adopted in 2007 champions causes such as:

• High-quality public education for all and universal, affordable and accessible healthcare.
• Sustainable use of earth’s resources, promoting alternative energy sources and public transportation with binding covenants to reduce global warming and protect populations most affected.
• Adoption of simpler lifestyles for those who have enough; grace over greed in economic life.
• Peacemaking through multilateral diplomacy rather than unilateral force, the abolition of torture, and a strengthening of the United Nations and the rule of international law.

Though the NCC may participate in some good works, it’s evident that its strategic focus is to push Marxist/Socialist goals. Under the guise of Christian unity and missions, it collaborates with the UN by evangelizing for its Sustainable Development agenda.

In addition to forging Christian unity while forgoing doctrinal differences, both the WCC and NCC encourage interreligious partnerships. Through the Interfaith Dialogue and Cooperation initiative, the WCC seeks to “strengthen relationships with neighbours of other faiths, recognizing that we are ‘no longer strangers… but members of the household of God’ in our multi-religious world. We have ongoing dialogues with Buddhists, Confucians, Hindus, Jews, Muslims, and Sikhs.”

The NCC also partners with members of other faiths to promote social causes and affect U.S. public policy. Its statement reaffirming interfaith relations reveals its communication strategy with those outside of Christian circles:

“It is in this ever-changing context that the National Council of Churches has recognized the increasing necessity of interreligious engagement by continuing its longstanding Jewish- and Muslim-Christian dialogues, adding new dialogues with Buddhists, Hindus, and Sikhs; strengthening its participation in interreligious coalitions, such as the Shoulder-to-Shoulder Campaign to combat anti-Muslim bigotry; and bolstering its advocacy with interreligious partners on U.S. public policy issues.”

Both organizations encourage their members to engage with people from faiths that are hostile to foundational Christian teachings such as the Divinity and Lordship of Jesus Christ for the sake of unity and social advocacy. In this regard, they are fulfilling the wishes of occultists like Alice Bailey and U.N. activists like Robert Muller, when they stated:

Thus the expressed aims and efforts of the United Nations will be eventually brought to fruition and a new church of God, gathered out of all religions and spiritual groups, will untidily bring to an end the great heresy of separateness.”

Religions must actively cooperate to bring to unprecedented heights a better understanding of the mysteries of life and of our place in the universe, ‘My religion, right or wrong,’ and ‘My nation, right or wrong,’ must be abandoned forever in the Planetary Age.”

The United Religions Initiative

The task of building interfaith relations would reach new heights through the formal establishment of the United Religions Initiative (URI) in 2000. The URI was founded by San Francisco based, Episcopal Bishop William Swing in 1995 as an effort to unite the world’s religions for global good. The effort took flight when Swing was asked to host an interfaith service honoring the 50^th anniversary of the signing of the U.N. Charter.

From inception, the URI has been in lockstep with the U.N. Lee Penn documented the deep connection in his book False Dawn, where he wrote:

Robert Muller… was present at the birth of the URI in the mid-1990s. He had proposed creation of a United Religions organization in the 1970s and 1980s and spoke publicly on behalf of Swing’s organization as soon as the URI was announced to the public in 1995… In October 2002, Muller claimed credit for the founding of the URI; he wrote, “In 1995, during the 50th Anniversary of the U.N., I convinced San Francisco Bishop Swing to create the United Religions.” (p. 133)

Muller himself went on to state:

Today our objectives and efforts must be to see the religions globalize themselves into a global spiritual Renaissance in order to give us a universal, cosmic meaning of life on Earth and give birth to the first global, cosmic, universal civilization. The United Religions Organization which is in the process of being created can do that.”

The URI has been recognized as a non-governmental organization (NGO) with consultative status with the United Nations Economic and Social Council since it received its charter in 2000. Additionally, it has formal relations with the following U.N. agencies:

• UNESCO Chair for Peace and Intercultural Understanding, Malaviya Centre for Peace Research at Banaras Hindu University (UNESCO: MCPR)
• United Nations Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC)
• United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP)
• United Nations Office of Genocide Prevention and the Responsibility to Protect
• United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA)

Also, in 2020, the United Nations Alliance of Civilizations (UNAOC) and URI signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU), outlining their commitment to promoting dialogue among people of different cultures and religions. Through the MOU, fostering inter-cultural dialogue, human dignity, and mutual respect take center stage.

Just like the WCC and NCC, the URI is fully on board the U.N.’s climate agenda. In 2018, they signed an MOU with the U.N. Environment Programme to promote “the role of religious leaders in the stewardship of Mother Earth in the context of the U.N. Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).”

It is through the URI where all religious roads meet, coalescing into one collective entity. The organization’s Preamble, Purpose and Principles form the vision for planetary religious unity, where its members “unite to heal and protect the Earth” and work “to end religiously motivated violence”; where the “sacred wisdom of each religion, spiritual expression and indigenous tradition is respected”; and where members “shall not be coerced to participate in any ritual or be proselytized.”

The URI’s presence and vision grows through Cooperation Circles featuring groups with a minimum of “7 members from at least 3 different religions, spiritual expressions, or Indigenous traditions.” According to the website, there are currently 1,168 Cooperation Circles in 113 countries all working together to achieve greater understanding and acceptance of each tradition and spiritual expression.

Through its global campaigns, the URI brings together its diverse members to continue efforts to achieve planetary oneness. Some of its ongoing campaigns include:

• World Interfaith Harmony Week – February 1-7
• Golden Rule Day – April 5
• International Day of Peace – September 21
• World Environment Day – June 5
• International Mother Earth Day – April 22

There is no doubt that URI members are involved in many good works. However, its syncretic nature where Wiccans, Theosophists, Buddhists, Muslims, and Hindus stand side by side building an integrated global religious system remains problematic for Christians holding fast to Christ’s proclamation that “unless one is born again he cannot see the kingdom of God” (John 3:3). Devout Catholics are also alarmed by Pope Francis’s deep connections to the URI.

And then there is this strangely underreported connection between Pope Francis and a global organization called the United Religions Initiative (URI)…

Pope Francis, while still Cardinal Bergoglio, was reportedly a friend and supporter of the San Francisco-based URI, which has regional offices in 83 countries and seems to have as its ultimate objective the establishment of what conspiracy theorists used to call the One World Religion, whereby Christians, Jews, Muslims, Buddhists, Shintoists, Bahá’is, Sikhs, Hindus, Zoroastrians, New Agers, Wiccans, representatives of aboriginal religions, etc., would set aside all doctrinal differences or claims of religious supremacy in order to engender universal peaceful coexistence.” (Source)

While commenting on the URI’s grandiose vision of creating a global religion, Lee Penn states:

Unfortunately, the URI is tainted by New Age utopianism and by its leaders’ habitual affinity for leftist causes. Therefore, the URI agenda is far broader, and far stranger, than putting an end to religiously motivated violence.”

Elaborating further, Penn recounts an occurrence at the URI’s fifth global summit meeting in 2000 where “Rowan Fairgrove, an avowed Wiccan long active in the URI, reported that the meeting opened with the following chant:

“Gathered in here in the mystery of the hour
Gathered in one strong body
Gathered here in our unity and power
Spirit draw near.”

The Spirit invoked was never named by Fairgrove or Bishop Swing, who reportedly said that the meeting was “the Spirit’s property.”

The Dark Spirit Behind Ecumenism and Interfaith

Part one of this series revealed that the spirit behind the New Age Movement and occultism is actually Satan (or Lucifer) working through demonic entities to deceive and keep humans from reconciliation with God through Jesus Christ. Several of the individuals profiled began as Christians, only to fall prey to deception. This same lying spirit is also pervasive in the ecumenical and interfaith movements collaborating to build a man-made Kingdom of God with an earth-centered spiritualty. For Christians involved in these endeavors, it seems as though they have never read or have forgotten the words of Jesus when he proclaimed, “For whoever is ashamed of me and of my words in this adulterous and sinful generation, of him will the Son of Man also be ashamed when he comes in the glory of his Father with the holy angels.” Mark 8:38

The world is slowly being transformed by religious activists from diverse traditions into an antichrist “utopia.” They are erecting a global religious system where tolerance trumps morality, the creation is worshipped over the Creator, and individualism is sacrificed on the altar of oneness. Its prohibitions on proselyting make sharing the Gospel of Christ tantamount to a crime.

The crusade to merge all religions together as one is rooted in communism, socialism, collectivism, and the occult. It is guided at the higher level by global elitists, and implemented at the lower level by beguiled foot soldiers and unsuspecting dupes working to achieve world peace without the Prince of Peace. Its agreement with the UN SDGs places the earth above its Creator and marks it as a purveyor of fear, not faith.

The following prayer illustrates the movement’s intolerance of exclusive claims to truth.

To the God that lives within all of us
That fills us with happiness and joy
To make us whole
And help us understand life
As an expression of love for all human beings.

For no religion can be better

For no nation can be bigger
Than the Earth itself…

Ilchi Lee’s prayer demonstrates that interfaith relations consequently serve to undermine all religions. Why bother with any faith if they are all equally valid and interchangeable? This clever and overt tactic serves to neuter the Gospel message by reducing it to notions of self-help and social justice. Its syncretism creates a false peace where the Christian cannot reason with or challenge the worldview of other faiths. Jesus came to expose contrary opinions and teachings with the sword of truth, not make peace (Matthew 10:34). If all faiths are equally true, then there is no real standard by which to live. In this case, Satanist Aleister Crowley’s “Do what thou wilt” maxim becomes acceptable and even desired.

Uniqueness is not a virtue within the interfaith community. Interfaith theology projects a giant sea of sameness with different terminologies and expressions, but all have the same meaning: that every path leads to God and all will eventually become Gods. It reduces all people to the same status so the state (a U.N.-led global government) can be elevated just like its socialist and communist cousins.

The unholy public-private partnership between religious NGOs, the U.N., and governments worldwide is gradually undoing the separation of church and state. The Church has been tasked by God to feed the hungry, clothe the naked, and help the poor as secondary tasks. It does not need to partner with the government to accomplish God’s will in these areas. Whenever the Church aligns itself with the State it becomes subject to micromanagement, persecution, and control by despots.

“There is a way which seemeth right unto a man but the end thereof are the ways of death” Proverbs 14:12

Christians involved with interfaith activities may be aligning themselves with many practices the Bible condemns, such as:

• divination
• Earth worship
• idolatry
• necromancy
• reincarnation
• witchcraft

God demands holiness (separation) and despises mixture! Partaking in these practices opens one up to grave deception, oppression, and possibly even possession. Satan has cleverly seduced much of the Church through a blend of myth, mysticism, and esotericism while enticing its members to partake in the spirit of oneness engulfing the world. By appearing as an angel of light, he has fooled many who should know better as predicted by Apostle Paul when he warned that:

“The Spirit clearly says that in later times some will abandon the faith and follow deceiving spirits and things taught by demons. Such teachings come through hypocritical liars, whose consciences have been seared as with a hot iron.” 1 Timothy 4:1-2
