I received a reply from my Congressman…

A CROOKED PATH

To the three of you who recall an article titled How quickly things turn I published on Monday, with a preface I wrote, I received a reply from my Representative in the United States House of Representatives.

A man who contends to be a Christian, a conservative Republican, and one who represents his constituents.

He voted to codify into law the opinion offered up by the U.S. Supreme Court in 2015 OPINION, NOT a legally binding decision in the Obergefell v. Hodges case. Thus the ability to convene and offer up a different OPINION regarding Roe v Wade than the court did in 1973. Congress wants to CODIFY INTO LAW national homosexual “marriage” and the murder of babies bypassing the U.S. Supreme Court and the U.S. Constitution by codifying into law these evils and lawless immoralities.

Words are vital. Understanding is vital. The U.S. Supreme Court does not offer up legal decisions. They only offer up legal OPINIONS. NOT LEGAL DECISIONS. There is a vast difference. Yet those in law, those in public office, and those in the media refuse to address this important detail.

The following is the sorry excuse offered up by my representative for going along with Nancy Pelosi and the evil within our Congress desiring to codify into law the OPINIONS offered up by the court regarding the 2015 Obergefell v. Hodges opinion;

Dear Mr. Pullen,

Thank you for contacting me to share your concerns. Your thoughts are most welcome and appreciated.

I understand you disagree with my vote for H.R. 8404, the Respect for Marriage Act, and I appreciate the opportunity to detail why I supported this bill. As you may know, the Defense of Marriage Act of 1996 set a strict heterosexual marriage standard for the federal government, but allowed individual states to internally recognize other marriages. This bill was ruled unconstitutional by the U.S. Supreme Court in the 2013 United States v. Windsor and 2015 Obergefell v. Hodges decision. The Respect for Marriage Act repeals the statutory language of the Defense of Marriage Act and prohibits states from refusing to recognize marriages that are performed in another state between two persons on the basis of sex, race, ethnicity, or national origin. In effect, this prohibits state discrimination against same-sex, interracial, and international marriages performed in other states. This bill simply maintains our existing law, and respects the rulings of the highest court in our land.

As someone who spent over 25 years practicing law, I remain committed to upholding the law of the land, despite the Democrats consistently wanting to dismantle and pack the Supreme Court every time there is a ruling they dislike. While we may disagree on this issue, please know that I appreciate you sharing your views with me and that I will keep your concerns in mind as we move forward through the remainder of the 117th session of Congress. I am honored to continue representing you in Congress and always appreciate hearing from my constituents about the issues that are impacting their lives and it’s helpful for me to know your perspective on important topics.

Once again, thank you for contacting me. Should you have additional comments or questions on this or any other issue, please feel free to contact me at my Mentor, Twinsburg, or Washington, D.C. office. I also invite you to stay in touch by signing up for my weekly email newsletter, the Weekly Wrap, which you can do by visiting my website at ________________________________________.

Typical politician.

A lot of words that do not address the root of the issue. Why I even wrote to him. He totally ignores the fact that should this also pass in the U.S. Senate? Then homosexual “marriage” gets CODIFIED INTO U.S. LAW and that is a lot more difficult to repeal than an OPINION offered up by the U.S. Supreme Court!

But why deal with facts, the truth, and reality in this land of the lost and sinful and falling quicker into the abyss than a 747 with both its wings clipped!
