Why must we pray

and rely daily upon the Word of God?

To increase our understanding

increase our wisdom

increase our knowledge of the will of God

for in His Living Word

is His will revealed.

To be fed the meat of the Word

to provide us spiritual nourishment

to receive the truth

sound doctrine

to know God’s way

Because there is a devil

That’s why!

We are to come

we are instructed

to come boldly

in this sweetest

With complete faith

so clear

if we only look

Seeing
then that we have a great high priest,

that
is passed into the heavens,

Jesus
the Son of God,

let
us hold fast our profession.

For
we have not

an
high priest which cannot be touched

with
the feeling in our infirmities;

but
was in all points tempted

like
as we are,

yet
without sin.

Let
us therefore come boldly

unto
the throne of grace,

that
we may obtain mercy,

The Living Word

flowing fresh and pure

is not some antiquated

history

inapplicable

to modern life

for in each word

each step

every word of instruction

God’s Word

is so alive

it is capable of bringing

anyone back from the brink

no matter the depth

of their despair

or woes

From learning of the cunning devil

tempting Eve

causing Adam and sin to enter

this perfect creation of Jehovah Elyon

to Cain with malice and envy

slaying his brother Abel

to the temptations

and travails of King David

to the Apostle Paul

explaining openly

in complete truth

his wrestling with this flesh

and the laws of God

reveal our guilt

What
shall we say then?

Is
the law sin?

God
forbid.

Nay,

I
had not known sin,

but
by the law:

for
I had not known lust,

except
the law had said,

“Thou
shalt not covet.”

But
sin,

taking
occasion by the commandment,

wrought
in me all manner of concupiscence.

For
without the law sin was dead.

For
I was alive without the law once:

but
when the commandment came,

sin
revived, and I died.

And
the commandment,

which
was ordained to life,

I
found to be unto death.

For
sin,

taking
occasion by the commandment,

deceived
me,

and
by it slew me.

Wherefore
the law is holy,

and
the commandment holy,

and
just,

and
good.

Was
then that which is good

made
death unto me?

God
forbid.

But
sin, that it might appear sin,

working
death in me

by
that which is good;

that
sin by the commandment

might
become exceeding sinful.

For
we know that the law is spiritual:

but
I am carnal,

sold

under sin.

For
that which I do

I
allow not:

for
what I would,

that
do I not;

but
that what I hate, that do I.

If
then I do that which I would not,

I
consent unto the law

that
it is good.

Now
then it is no more I that do it,

but
sin that dwelleth in me.

For
I know

that
in me

(that
is, in my flesh,)

dwelleth
no good thing:

for
to will is present with me;

but
how to perform that which is good

I
find not.

For
the good that I would I do not:

but
the evil which I would not, that I do.

Now
if I do that I would not,

it
is no more I that do it,

but
sin that dwelleth in me.

I
find then a law, that,

when
I would do good,

evil
is present with me.

For
I delight in the law of God after the inward man:

But
I see another law

in
my members,

warring
against the law of my mind,

and
bringing me into captivity

to
the law of sin

which
is in my members.

O
wretched man that I am!

who
shall deliver me from the body of this death?

I
thank God through Jesus Christ

our
Lord.

So
then with the mind

I
myself serve the law of God;

but
with the flesh the law of sin.

We must clearly realize

the men and women of God

within Scripture

were of flesh and were men

and women

just as I, just as you.

What then must we do?

Ask in prayer

constantly

fervently

consistently

persistently

without ceasing

Ye
lust,

and
have not:

ye
kill,

and
desire to have,

and
cannot obtain:

ye
fight and war,

yet
ye have not,

because
ye ask not.

Ye
ask,

and
receive not,

because
ye ask amiss,

that
ye may consume it

upon
your lusts.

Ye
adulterers

and
adulteresses,

know
ye not the friendship of the world

is
enmity with God?

whosoever
therefore

will
be a friend to the world

is
the enemy of God.

Do
ye think the Scriptures saith in vain,

The
spirit that dwelleth in us

lusteth
to envy?

But
he giveth more grace.

Wherefore
he saith,

God
resisteth the proud,

but
giveth grace unto the humble.

Submit
yourselves therefore to God.

Resist
the devil,

and
he will flee from you.

Draw
nigh to God,

and
he will draw nigh to you.

Cleanse
your hands,

ye
sinners;

and
purify your hearts,

ye
double minded.

Everything

that could ever happen to us

has happened

already

The
thing that hath been,

it
is that which shall be:

and
that which is done

is
that which shall be done:

and
there is no new thing under the sun.

There is nothing

anyone is going through

which someone before

has not gone through

endured

providing example

contained within the Word of God

The Living Word

can bring all

in everything

back

from the brink

the Living Word

is not ancient text

inapplicable

to modern day

for each and every step taken

from Eve wandering to the Tree of Knowledge

to Peter denying Christ the Lord

to the thorn in Paul

causing constant affliction

was the present then

and applies living now

in each life here

still breathing

by the grace of God

There is no

substitute

for turning to God’s Word

and kneeling in fervent prayer

praying continually

through the day

and night

wherever

whenever

for without those anchors

one drifts

like a rope in the wind

beating against the wall

being worn down

tossed

in every direction

a course with no sound

detection

fibers of entire being

split asunder

allowing the devil room to plunder

For
the Word of God

is
quick,

and
powerful,

and
sharper than any twoedged sword,

piercing
even to the dividing asunder

of
soul and spirit,

and
of the joints and marrow,

and
is a discerner of the thoughts

and
intents of the heart.

Everything

that could ever happen to us

has happened

already

Rely upon the Lord

and continually turn to His Word

for guidance and nourishment

for without you shall surely

starve and wither

and die

always without ceasing

in persistent

constant

sleepless

fervent

bold

prayer asking

so that you shall receive

Be
careful for nothing;

but
in every thing by prayer and supplication

with
thanksgiving

let
your requests

be
made known unto God.

And
the peace of God,

which
passeth all understanding,

shall
keep your hearts

and
minds

through
Christ Jesus.

unto
your children:
