Thy Rod and Thy Staff Comfort Me

The Lord is my Shepherd;

I shall not want.

Only God, only God, Only God alone

I place Thee above all else

if I had the world and not Thee it would not be enough

for my soul would ever want

with Thee uppermost in my soul

my heart

my mind

my bones

my spirit

I am lacking nothing

He maketh me to lie down in green pastures:

He leadeth me beside still waters

I follow my Shepherd

being still

being quiet

He provides my all

Only God, only God,  only God alone!

He restoreth my soul:

He leadeth me in the paths of righteousness

for His name’s sake.

My Shepherd guides me

instructs me

refreshes, restores, protects, provides all for me

Only Thee, only Thee, Only Thee who died on Calgary

to conquer death, fulfill the Promise

Christ the Lord, Jesus Christ

Son of God

Son of man

Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death,

I will fear no evil:

for Thou art with me;

Thy rod and Thy staff comfort me.

Flesh to become dust

flesh to die at life’s end

whatever measure of days

all flesh perishes due to sin

yet, I, with eyes upwards

the Lord inward, outward, upward, downward

in everything, out of everything

above everything

below everything

I fear nothing of any man upon this earth

no nation

no evil or action

for

Only God, only God, only God alone

watches ‘or me provides every breath

each beat of heart

my soul soars

under protective wings Jehovah unfurls

Thy rod and Thy staff do comfort me, reprove me, chastise me

refine me, prune me to bear fruit

instruct me in Thy ways

Oh Lord may I follow Thee, only Thee, only Thee

Risen Lord the third day conquering death’s sting bearing my sin on Calvary

Thou preparest a table before me

in the presence of mine enemies:

Thou anointest my head with oil;

my cup runneth over.

Surely goodness

and mercy

shall follow me

all the days of my life:

and I will dwell in the house of the Lord for ever.

…they that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength;

they shall mount up with wings as eagles;

they shall run, and not be weary;

and they shall walk and not faint.

…I will rejoice in the Lord,

I will joy in the God of my salvation.

The Lord God is my strength,

and He will make my feet like hinds’ feet,

and He will make me to walk upon mine high places.

Only God, only God, only God alone

is all I need!

I shall follow Thee, my Shepherd

all the days of my life

Only Thee, only Thee, only Thee alone!
