I’ve heard pastors, preachers exhort we ought not to look towards, or think about there being a Third Temple built in Jerusalem. That there will not be a physical Third Jewish Temple constructed — because the Lord Jesus is the Risen Temple. And therefore there is no need for, nor will there be a Third Temple built. And the references in the New Testament regarding a “temple” made by Jesus and the apostles from the Greek word mean spiritual temple. Not a physical one.

I agree with that theology. Christians do not need a Third Jewish Temple built in order to continue in our faith, nor should we be attempting to calculate, try to figure out when the Lord Jesus will return the second time, as He will. While those teachings and preachings by various pastors pertain and are true regarding true Christians — we do not need a Jewish Third Temple built as we do have the Lord Jesus as our Risen Temple. And as God’s word tells us when we are transformed by the Holy Spirit and renewed to become true disciples of the Lord Jesus our bodies are temples in which the Holy Spirit resides.

I must interject here to all the well educated, theology schooled, degreed, experienced pastors, ministers, and preachers exhorting there will not be a Third Jewish Temple because we Christians do not need one…

…the Jews in Israel are not paying attention to what is being preached from some Christian pulpits and they are intently, seriously working towards and getting ever closer to beginning to construct a physical Third Temple in Jerusalem.

The Jews in Israel, and around the world are working continually on finding, building, creating all the necessary and required items and physical requirements set down in the Old Testament as required for inclusion in the Temple, in the daily sacrifices, in the operation of the Temple.

Progress towards that end and the actual construction of the Third Temple do not reside on the red heifer alone.

There are also Scripture references that are not purely meaning a spiritual temple, nor when discerned wisely not in the past, not pertaining to when the Romans destroyed the Second Temple in 70 A.D. These Scripture references, in context, tell of a Temple that is present, in a physical sense, in the last of the last days before the Lord Jesus returns;

Forces from him shall appear and profane the temple and fortress, and shall take away the regular burnt offering. And they shall set up the abomination that makes desolate.

Daniel 11:31 — English Standard Version

The Abomination of Desolation

“So when you see the abomination of desolation spoken of by the prophet Daniel, standing in the holy place (let the reader understand), then let those who are in Judea flee to the mountains. Let the one who is on the housetop not go down to take what is in his house, and let the one who is in the field not turn back to take his cloak. And alas for women who are pregnant and for those who are nursing infants in those days! Pray that your flight may not be in winter or on a Sabbath. For then there will be great tribulation, such as has not been from the beginning of the world until now, no, and never will be. And if those days had not been cut short, no human being would be saved. But for the sake of the elect those days will be cut short. Then if anyone says to you, ‘Look, here is the Christ!’ or ‘There he is!’ do not believe it. For false christs and false prophets will arise and perform great signs and wonders, so as to lead astray, if possible, even the elect. See, I have told you beforehand. So, if they say to you, ‘Look, he is in the wilderness,’ do not go out. If they say, ‘Look, he is in the inner rooms,’ do not believe it. For as the lightning comes from the east and shines as far as the west, so will be the coming of the Son of Man. Wherever the corpse is, there the vultures will gather.”

The Coming of the Son of Man

“Immediately after the tribulation of those days the sun will be darkened, and the moon will not give its light, and the stars will fall from heaven, and the powers of the heavens will be shaken. Then will appear in heaven the sign of the Son of Man, and then all the tribes of the earth will mourn, and they will see the Son of Man coming on the clouds of heaven with power and great glory. And he will send out his angels with a loud trumpet call, and they will gather his elect from the four winds, from one end of heaven to the other.”

Matthew 24:15-31 — English Standard Version

And I heard the man clothed in linen, who was above the waters of the stream; he raised his right hand and his left hand toward heaven and swore by him who lives forever that it would be for a time, times, and half a time, and that when the shattering of the power of the holy people comes to an end all these things would be finished. I heard, but I did not understand. Then I said, “O my lord, what shall be the outcome of these things?” He said, “Go your way, Daniel, for the words are shut up and sealed until the time of the end. Many shall purify themselves and make themselves white and be refined, but the wicked shall act wickedly. And none of the wicked shall understand, but those who are wise shall understand. And from the time that the regular burnt offering is taken away and the abomination that makes desolate is set up, there shall be 1,290 days. Blessed is he who waits and arrives at the 1,335 days. But go your way till the end. And you shall rest and shall stand in your allotted place at the end of the days.”

Daniel 12:7-13 — English Standard Version

The Man of Lawlessness

Now concerning the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ and our being gathered together to him, we ask you, brothers, not to be quickly shaken in mind or alarmed, either by a spirit or a spoken word, or a letter seeming to be from us, to the effect that the day of the Lord has come. Let no one deceive you in any way. For that day will not come, unless the rebellion comes first, and the man of lawlessness is revealed, the son of destruction, who opposes and exalts himself against every so-called god or object of worship, so that he takes his seat in the temple of God, proclaiming himself to be God. Do you not remember that when I was still with you I told you these things? And you know what is restraining him now so that he may be revealed in his time. For the mystery of lawlessness is already at work. Only he who now restrains it will do so until he is out of the way. And then the lawless one will be revealed, whom the Lord Jesus will kill with the breath of his mouth and bring to nothing by the appearance of his coming. The coming of the lawless one is by the activity of Satan with all power and false signs and wonders, and with all wicked deception for those who are perishing, because they refused to love the truth and so be saved. Therefore God sends them a strong delusion, so that they may believe what is false, in order that all may be condemned who did not believe the truth but had pleasure in unrighteousness.

2 Thessalonians 2:1-12 — English Standard Version

The LORD Appears to Solomon

As soon as Solomon had finished building the house of the LORD and the king’s house and all that Solomon desired to build, the LORD appeared to Solomon a second time, as he had appeared to him at Gibeon. And the LORD said to him, “I have heard your prayer and your plea, which you have made before me. I have consecrated this house that you have built, by putting my name there forever. My eyes and my heart will be there for all time. And as for you, if you will walk before me, as David your father walked, with integrity of heart and uprightness, doing according to all that I have commanded you, and keeping my statutes and my rules, then I will establish your royal throne over Israel forever, as I promised David your father, saying, ‘You shall not lack a man on the throne of Israel.’ But if you turn aside from following me, you or your children, and do not keep my commandments and my statutes that I have set before you, but go and serve other gods and worship them, then I will cut off Israel from the land that I have given them, and the house that I have consecrated for my name I will cast out of my sight, and Israel will become a proverb and a byword among all peoples. And this house will become a heap of ruins. Everyone passing by it will be astonished and will hiss, and they will say, ‘Why has the LORD done thus to this land and to this house?’ Then they will say, ‘Because they abandoned the LORD their God who brought their fathers out of the land of Egypt and laid hold on other gods and worshiped them and served them. Therefore the LORD has brought all this disaster on them.’”

1 Kings 9:1-9 — English Standard Version

I do not live thinking I can act a certain way, I have time, I can do this or that because the Third Temple hasn’t been built yet. Nor do I attempt to plot or calculate the days until it will be built, and when the Lord Jesus returns.

I do live as each day is given by the Lord, each breath and heartbeat is given. And I know I do not need a Third Jewish Temple built.

But I do believe a Third Temple, a third physical Temple will be built. In Jerusalem. And what is written in the Word of God, what was spoken by the Lord Jesus will be as written and spoken, and those words point to a physical Third Temple existing. In the last of the last days.

That does not mean  unbelievers can hesitate and plot and calculate and think, “Oh, someday, because I still have time.” Your time may be as this man thought;

The Parable of the Rich Fool

Someone in the crowd said to him, “Teacher, tell my brother to divide the inheritance with me.” But he said to him, “Man, who made me a judge or arbitrator over you?” And he said to them, “Take care, and be on your guard against all covetousness, for one’s life does not consist in the abundance of his possessions.” And he told them a parable, saying, “The land of a rich man produced plentifully, and he thought to himself, ‘What shall I do, for I have nowhere to store my crops?’ And he said, ‘I will do this: I will tear down my barns and build larger ones, and there I will store all my grain and my goods. And I will say to my soul, “Soul, you have ample goods laid up for many years; relax, eat, drink, be merry.”’ But God said to him, ‘Fool! This night your soul is required of you, and the things you have prepared, whose will they be?’ So is the one who lays up treasure for himself and is not rich toward God.”

Luke 12:13-21 — English Standard Version

While the above is a lesson in not placing your heart on and living your life for earthly treasures, but lay up for yourself spiritual treasures making yourself truly rich toward God — the man in all his preparations, thinking he had time, thinking everything would continue on died the very night he proclaimed how set he was for a long future.

While I do make plans, do have doctor’s appointments set in the future, so on? I truly only live in the moments the Lord blesses me with. The breaths, the heartbeats, the life his moment, this minute God makes possible. For I know I might not be in this physical realm known as among the living 10 breaths, or 120 heartbeats from now. Or the very next one.

None of us truly knows anything when it comes to that truth.

So, if unbelieving? Don’t think you have time and “someday.”

And if a true believer? Do not get ensnared and caught in the sticky web of this sign or that one, this hasn’t happened yet, and if this does then does that mean Jesus is closer to returning?

Do not make yourself consumed. Anxious in such things. Let each of us focus on our walk with the Lord Jesus. On becoming better lights unto this broken, fallen lost world. Good salt. Let us each grow in the faith and not plot, contend, ponder, worry, or imagine when this will happen then what?

Be thankful for each day. Each breath. Each heartbeat.

Yes, pay attention and yes I’m writing don’t get ensnared in this or that as I post an article about the red heifer and the Third Temple — which I believe will be physically built by the Jews in Israel. Because they aren’t focused on or following the Christian teachings and beliefs are they? They are living and working to heed and obey the teachings of the older covenant, the Old Testament.

It’s all about balance. Be aware. Pay attention. Know what is taking place. But don’t allow any of the things seen or read or heard dominate. Take precedence over our prayer life, our study daily of God’s Word, our walk closer to the Lord Jesus.

Red Heifer Update From The Temple Mount Institute (Video)

In Jewish theology, the red heifer is essential to the rebuilding of the third Holy Temple in Jerusalem and will be needed to be sacrificed to complete the ritual of purification for the Temple.
Jews believe this event is part of the process that would mark the coming of the Messiah and the final judgment.
But the significance of the red heifer also relates to Christians who believe the completion of the third Temple is a symbol heralding the second coming of Jesus Christ.
It is claimed there have only been nine true red heifers, and the 10th will herald the construction of the third Temple. Several red heifers have been born in the past, but have been disqualified for not meeting the Biblical requirements.
To meet requirements, the heifer must be born from a natural birth and be entirely red with no more than two non-red hairs on its body. It must also never have been used for any labor or have been impregnated.
The Bible refers to the red heifer in Numbers 19 which begins, “And the Lord spoke to Moses and Aaron, saying: This is the ordinance of the Torah which the Lord has decreed, saying, Speak to the children of Israel and have them bring you a red heifer without defect, in which there is no blemish, and upon which never came a yoke…”
Rabbis emphasize that the heifer could, at any time, acquire a blemish rendering it unsuitable.
Watch the Video update below from the Temple Institute which is at the forefront of preparing for the rebuilding of the third temple, including training Levite priests, preparing Temple instruments and now watching over two perfect red heifers:
