A CROOKED PATH

“God who gave us life gave us liberty. And can the liberties of a nation be thought secure when we have removed our only firm basis, a conviction in the minds of the people that these liberties are the gift of God?”

~ Thomas Jefferson

“I have lived, Sir, a long time, and the longer I live, the more convincing proofs I see of this truth: that God governs the affairs of man.”

~ Benjamin Franklin

“It is the duty of all nations to acknowledge the Providence of Almighty God, to obey His will, to be grateful for His benefits, and humbly implore His protection and favor.”

~George Washington in his Thanksgiving Proclamation, October 3, 1789

No Diests here. Contrary to that which is taught, has been taught in all American schools for many decades now.

Never heard any of the abovementioned words of Jefferson, Franklin, or Washington mentioned in any school you’ve attended? Humm…

Ever wonder why not?

Why would this be so?

Ever taught in any school you’ve ever attended how Thomas Jefferson conducted Christian church services in the Capitol Building rotunda on Sundays? Don’t think so? Well, take a few moments to research the truth of our history. Beyond the usual malnourished food fed to students, to the people.

Or taught the truth regarding our Founders, and in particular George Washington?

Humm…curiouser and curiouser isn’t it?

Not that it in all likelihood matters one bit to you what book or books I may be reading, but I had a wonderful and unexpected visit and conversation with two fellow believers, a brother I have known for a bit of time that has become a friend, and his wife, a dear sister in the faith.

The man and I had gone to lunch. And afterward, he asked if I had time to come by their home, which I did. And we ended up having a fine conversation — you may recall what those once were and now are rarer than flying elephants with four wings — that lasted about three hours.

Unexpected. Delightful. Rare these days. A thoroughly enjoyable time. Conversing about myriad subjects.

In the course of this conversation, the wife of the man, the sister in the faith, with this being the very first time I met her and spoke with her other than a cursory “hello, so nice to meet you,” and a handshake, as my wife knows her and we met briefly in the church we all attend. The church is very large in the number of attendees and it isn’t always easy to see folks you may know…

…and after about two hours of conversation over coffee the sister in the faith of our Lord Jesus Christ, my newfound friend, said, “I’m going to go get that book,” and she stood up and left her seat in their living room and was gone for about five minutes, upon her return and once again taking her seat she held up a book ad asked me, “Have you read this?”

Whereupon I replied, “Yes, I have, I have that exact same copy.”

Which spurred me to pull the book from one of my bookshelves late last night and to begin rereading it. If you haven’t read this book I cannot recommend it heartedly enough.

If you’re a Christian. If you’re an American. If you have a passion for reading and a desire to study and learn REAL TRUE history, REAL TRUE American history about one of our Founding Fathers, the man called The Father of Our Country, George Washington.

To clear away all the erroneous so-called historical information about the man and his life and the times in America as they really were. To clear away the sticky web of fabrications and out and out blatant lies about the man, his life, and times. And let’s not pussyfoot around and fear being direct and blunt. When something erroneous is written — with intent — refusing to acknowledge the facts, the truth, and what is put forth is manipulated, massaged, controlled, and thusly censored to push an agenda that is called lying. Propaganda. Let’s begin once more using accurate language and not living in fear of calling things what they really are, shall we?

Pudding ought to be soft and mushy, as well as English peas. Sweaters are to be soft.

We’re to be kind, compassionate, considerate, thoughtful using the brains the Good Lord blessed us with, and gentle — but do not confuse that with being mushy and soft in the terms of the world and how we’re now told we ought to talk, write and think.

Nothing ought to replace the truth. The facts.

And in this book dear reader, you will find the truth, the facts, and real history. Real American history. Real Christian history. Unlike any that you’ve been taught in any school.

Some years ago, many years ago because at the time I was still an unrepentant pagan in darkness, being darkness and lost, and I wrote for a political, current event website. And I had learned what a number of history textbooks used in secondary schools and even in colleges and universities were writing, and thus being taught and fed to students in America — wherein only two paragraphs were given to Gorge Washington, in which the focus was his apparel and how he dressed effeminate, how he had poor teeth, and that he was a slave owner. Those three things were the primary focus of the two paragraphs given to the man.

If you care enough about reality, the truth, and actual history, and to learn about the man, the Christian man, who was NOT a Diest, who spoke and wrote about Jesus Christ, about the Christian faith then I heartedly recommend the following…

…a book brought to my mind again in conversation…and one I have now begun to reread because it is so so, so apt, and so necessary to read in our times;

George Washington’s Sacred Fire: 9780978605261: Lillback, Peter A.: Books

This book is worth searching out and reading in its entirety.
