Wonder

I wonder
where the wonder
went
in our day
all people are prone to hearsay
senses blurred and numb
no sense of reality
live in vagueness
to reality now become dumb
If ye love me, keep my commandments
And I will pray the Father, and He shall give you
another Comforter
that He may abide with you for ever;
Even the Spirit of truth; whom the world cannot receive
because it seeth Him not
neither knoweth Him:
but ye know Him; for He dwelleth
with you
and shall be in you
wonder
has all gone out
away
vanished
as a dove flying
into a thick forest
becoming
invisible in the increasing darkness
truth
vanishes
like the dove
no rest for the sole of her feet
in this world
of violence, evil, sin
the hearts of man know nothing
but evil imaginings
confused
lying
proclaiming “good men”
are found here
yet they know the world
and not the Spirit
refusing to know it, get near it
to dumb and ignorant to even fear it
I wonder
where the wonder
went
within the professed
proclaiming
attending their dry
no life giving waters
sermons
from men not filled
by the Spirit
ahh, they do refuse to know it, get near it!
I am the true vine
and my Father is the husbandman
Every branch in me that beareth not fruit
He taketh away:
and every branch that beareth fruit, he purgeth
it
that it may bring forth more fruit
No pruning, no gardeners
in the dry desert church today
too busy embracing the ways of the world
to listen, abide in God’s way
Now ye are clean through the Word
which I have spoken to you
Abide in me, and I in you
As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself
except it abide in the vine:
no more can ye
except
ye abide in me
I am the vine
ye are the branches: He
that abideth in me
and I in him
the same bringeth forth much fruit: for without me
ye
can do nothing
I wonder
where the wonder went
among the professed
with all their answers
for which they will answer
I wonder where the wonder
went
true discipleship
has gone
If a man abide not in me
he
is cast forth
as a branch, and is withered: and men gather
them into the fire
and they are burned
If ye
abide in me
and my words
abide in you
ye shall ask what ye will and it shall be done
unto you
Herein is my Father glorified
that ye
bear much fruit; so shall ye
be
my disciples
I wonder where
the wonder
went
living in vagueness
blind to reality
going through the motions
motionless of spirit
ahh, so you call yourself Christian
and make it to church on time
yet sit again
as always
no fullness
lifeless
eager to speak of anything other than
God
upon
end of service
refusing service
serving whom
here is a reality
interrupting your banality
discipleship
is required
else
all will be consumed in fire
even the so thought
once saved always saved
erroneously taught
Spirit
filling your spirit
can you feel it
truly near it
not fear it
here’s some reality
for one and all
regarding the call
if true
you’ll know His Presence
actually know, feel
have consciousness
of the actual presence of the living God
disciple
wonder
where
your wonder went
why no more amazement
continue in the walk
you’ll receive real joy
that is
actually receiving the joy
of the Holy Spirit
so many working at joy
as the world defines
knows
dictates
pretends it is
disciple
wonder where
your wonder went
real joy
disciple
comes
in resurrection
joy
Our Christ came out of the grave
Spirit
of the risen
living again Lord
witnessed by His people
no other
can make such claim
no matter what false teachings they proclaim
in vain
being profane
Our joy the world cannot know
is this
looking back to the grave
risen
knowing
disciple
death has already come
we are already risen
we are with the Lord
there is no true death
for the child of God
disciple
know this
the Holy Spirit has power
mighty is the Spirit
words preached, spoken, written
in the Spirit
if true
strike
and penetrate
arrest
easily the heart knows the difference
whence it comes
either dry and lifeless
no life giving waters to be found
or moving as a mighty river
penetrating the heart
felt
quivering
known
arresting
to that a disciple
would truly be attesting
know this
disciple
wondering where
the wonder went
the Spirit grants
authority
more answers
than questions
providing a clarity of reality
never before known
nothing the world can receive or see
oh such a sudden clear sense of reality
the Spirit-filled
disciple answers more than asks
with the authority of the Spirit given
in trust
humility
from the Living Word
do not go where preachers meekly ask
attend where they boldly tell
with power of Spirit
be wary if you hear them say…
“Now let us ask ourselves this question.”
They should have the authority of Spirit
to know!
Boldly
with moral authority
however the Spirit moves the man
even if the people numb
on autopilot in the pews
begin to stew
twitch
and complain
questioning should not be the disciples refrain!
I
wonder where
all the wonderment went
disciple
know this
the filling of the Holy Spirit
brings
a sharp
distinct
separation
between the believer and the world
we should seek to be sliced and severed
removed
amputated
as if by the best surgeon
welding the largest and sharpest scalpel from this world
rather than wallowing in it
like a pig in mud
so many so dirty
just can’t remove themselves
from the stench
influence
allure
pull of the prince and his minions
oh woe to any of those!
I wonder
where the wonder
went
disciple
know this
instead of excuses
proclaiming no time
distractions
ensnared
making you greatly impaired
fall on your knees!
Take great delight
in prayer
communion continually with our One True God
going to God continually in prayer
with out self
selfishness
dryness
rote
true praise and Spirit emote!
From God in prayer do not ever be
remote
I wonder where the wonderment went
disciple
know this
fall deeply in love
with Scripture
so much so that if it were possible
to get the whole Word of God into you better
by eating it you would
think only of going for a knife and fork
and feasting!
Without a sincere, devout
love of God’s Divine Word
with daily devotion
there is
no
discipleship
no joy
no fullness of Spirit
no power
no life
as the branch withers
and bears not fruit
I wonder
where the wonder went
of the infinite vastness
and glory of God
where the discussion of God
and wondering of His omnipotence
grandeur
power
love
vastness went?
These things have I spoken unto you
that my joy
might remain in you
and that your joy might be full
This
is
My
commandment
That ye love one another as I have loved you
Greater love
hath no man
than this
that a man lay down his life for his friends
Ye are my friends
if ye do whatsoever I command you
Henceforth
I call you not servants; for the servant
knoweth not
what the lord doeth: but I have called you friends;
for all things that I have heard
of my Father
I have made known unto you
Ye have not chosen me, but I have chosen you
and ordained you
that you should go and bring forth
fruit
and that your fruit should remain:
that whatsoever ye shall ask of the Father
in my name, He may give it to you
These things I command you
that ye love one another
If
the world hate you
ye know
that it hated me
before it hated you
If ye
were of the world
the world would love his own:
but because ye
are not of the world
but I have chosen you out of the world
therefore
the world
hateth you.
