Way back in 1972, shortly after graduating from high school in 1971, I began college courses, at night, due to my working a full-time day job. I had many dreams back then and what I wanted to pursue I was unable to pursue due to how things were back then. They weren’t as they are now for young people. Not sour grapes — just stating facts.
So, instead of being able to go to college full-time during the day and pursue the discipline that I really wanted to, I enrolled in a different college that offered night classes. In a discipline I didn’t have a burning passion for, but an interest in — geology. Because of everything else offered at night, I had little or no interest in it. Again, it wasn’t like it is now. Just the facts.
I struggled to work in a factory 40 plus hours a week and take the course load I was taking. I eventually stopped going to college at night [I had bills to pay, becoming a grown-up stuff occurring] and stopped studying geology in a structured college course environment, but while I did not have a passion for it, I did have an interest and kept studying a bit on my own. Even back then I realized it wasn’t very intelligent, or scientific to enter into a field and just automatically adopt the status quo. To just accept and believe verbatim what the company line was. And in the field of geology, it’s automatically accepted that the universe is over 4,500,000,000 years old. That is the starting point of all inquiry. That’s utterly foolish and not very bright or scientific, isn’t it? Think about that and what science and the intelligent mind are supposed to do, how it is to truly operate. Not just take THEORY and adopt it as FACT. Until proven. But that is precisely what modern science has done and continues to do. Because the nature of science has radically changed over time and is no longer pure as it once was. Truly intelligent men and women realize from their investigating and discoveries that everything can’t be so easily explained away and categorized void of God, of a Creator, refusing to allow the Word of God into the equation.
This is one reason why a curious, active, inquiring mind needs to pursue self-study and not only seek out a wider storehouse of information than that which a teacher, a professor, or the college curriculum has established.
While the straight and narrow way in life with the Lord leads through the narrow gate, which few will enter, in learning in the world of structured education it’s much better to take the wide road, with many arteries and interesting places to stop and rest along the way, to seriously ponder, seriously learn, outside the narrow mind of a professor who came up in the same old same old system and to divert from the narrow accepted curriculum rather than the one-lane rigid well traveled and full of potholes and cracks formal, structured, one-way education highway.
I knew in my soul, in my spirit, in my heart as well as my mind though not degreed, not some Ph.D. or expert, but I knew within that core of knowing inside that there was no way everything that was being taught in the field of geology was accurate. And time has proved it wasn’t. And far too many so-called experts have had blinders on, their minds closed and just gone along the established highway never desiring to be true scientists and dismiss the status quo to seek out the facts, the truth which might go against the grain and shake things up.
I have no problem believing every word within the Word of God. I faithfully believe the account of creation as documented in Genesis. Everything that has been made, the visible and the invisible has been made by the Lord Jesus Christ, God the Father, and the Holy Spirit. The Triune God.
I believe it just as I believe how I look in the mirror when I wake up each morning. I don’t have a problem with reality.
Many people do. Even those calling themselves Christians. Imagining that they can eat and drink from the table of assumptions and things not proven by the world while claiming to be obedient, faithful children of God, living with and for Jesus as His followers.
That not only doesn’t add up it’s impossible to add up. Each person either believes and trusts what is in the Holy Bible or place their faith elsewhere. There is no middle ground, no living life as if in a perpetual restaurant picking options on the menu to partake of. A little of this, a little of that, a plate of oh that looks and sounds good — like the fruit on the Tree of Life — and living daily making a claim to be living for Jesus while exhibiting no traits other than worldly ones.
For them, and for the unbelieving in the Holy Bible who are in need of the facts, and reality, and to have a clear understanding of things the following is here.
Watch & listen on with an open heart, an open inquiring, rational, objective, logical, critically thinking independent mind.
You know, if taking the time to examine, ponder, discover, really think — it’s a lot easier, clearer, makes a lot more sense to believe the account of creation in Genesis than to swallow and adopt the illogical, irrational theories put forward by men and women of the world.
Interesting fact — there are highly educated, degreed, massively intelligent folks working in the field of physics who know that the Genesis account is more believable than what science has proposed for so many years. They believe in God, in the Holy Bible.
Gerald L. Schroeder, with undergraduate and doctoral degrees from MIT in applied physics, is one such person to discover, if unfamiliar.
Dr. Mark Harwood, found below, is another.

Why the Solar System Can’t Be Old

With Dr. Mark Harwood

VIDEO
Most of us have been told—as scientific fact—that our solar system formed by itself from a swirling disc of dust and gas about 4.5 billion years ago.
However, this story (about the distant, unobserved past) is actually just a hypothesis that rests on an array of unprovable assumptions. The most central of these is the belief that everything can (and must) be explained without reference to God. But is that assumption reasonable? How well does it fit with the observations?
The truth is that the physical evidence we observe in our solar system contradicts the evolutionary story—on many counts.
Join Dr Mark Harwood—who played a key role in the development of Australia’s national satellite system—for a fascinating and enlightening look at just some of the evidence that points to a young age for our solar system. Also, find out why any of this even matters!
