And I saw a beast coming up out of the sea. It had ten horns and seven heads. On its horns were ten crowns, and on its heads were blasphemous names. The beast I saw was like a leopard, its feet were like a bear’s, and its mouth was like a lion’s mouth. The dragon gave the beast his power, his throne, and great authority. One of its heads appeared to be fatally wounded, but its fatal wound was healed.

The whole earth was amazed and followed the beast. They worshiped the dragon because he gave authority to the beast. And they worshiped the beast, saying, “Who is like the beast? Who is able to wage war against it? ”

The beast was given a mouth to utter boasts and blasphemies. It was allowed to exercise authority for forty-two months. It began to speak blasphemies against God: to blaspheme his name and his dwelling — those who dwell in heaven. And it was permitted to wage war against the saints and to conquer them. It was also given authority over every tribe, people, language, and nation. All those who live on the earth will worship it, everyone whose name was not written from the foundation of the world in the book of life of the Lamb who was slaughtered.

If anyone has ears to hear, let him listen.

If anyone is to be taken captive,

into captivity he goes.

If anyone is to be killed with a sword,

with a sword he will be killed.

This calls for endurance and faithfulness from the saints.

Revelation 13:1-10 — Christian Standard Bible

Scripture from Revelation 13 was added by the administrator of A Crooked Path

The above Divine Revelation given to the apostle John on Patmos was not, is not only a prophecy of what is to come with the appearance of the beast, the coming Antichrist and the dragon (Satan) who brings him upon the world, but it is PRESENT INSTRUCTION TO EVERY disciple of Jesus Christ in the PRESENT as it is read in the PRESENT. Be those true believers living in 100 A.D. or 1500 A.D. or in 1963, or TODAY.

Verses 9 and 10 speak directly to the saints, the believers who read, who hear this word, this prophecy spoke when in their time they hear it. Because no one knows the time the Lord will return, save the Father in heaven.

And every saint, every disciple, every true, faithful believer of Jesus Christ must be prepared each and every day for this prophecy to begin. And to be a saint, a disciple here on this earth as this beast takes power and goes to war with every true believer on earth.

And, as the apostle John wrote, given the words directly from Jesus providing this Revelation to him;

“This calls for endurance and faithfulness from the saints.”

The Judgment at Christ’s Coming

This is evidence of the righteous judgment of God, that you may be considered worthy of the kingdom of God, for which you are also suffering— since indeed God considers it just to repay with affliction those who afflict you, and to grant relief to you who are afflicted as well as to us, when the Lord Jesus is revealed from heaven with his mighty angels in flaming fire, inflicting vengeance on those who do not know God and on those who do not obey the gospel of our Lord Jesus. They will suffer the punishment of eternal destruction, away from the presence of the Lord and from the glory of his might, when he comes on that day to be glorified in his saints, and to be marveled at among all who have believed, because our testimony to you was believed. To this end we always pray for you, that our God may make you worthy of his calling and may fulfill every resolve for good and every work of faith by his power, so that the name of our Lord Jesus may be glorified in you, and you in him, according to the grace of our God and the Lord Jesus Christ.
