The following does not only apply to the children of Israel but to all God’s people, all children of God, all disciples of the Lord Jesus Christ. There is no difference in the sight of God. Only in our blurred and errant sight.

How many of us really live with the holiness of the Sabbath, the Lord’s Day, permeating our whole week and anticipating drawing closer to God?

Truly.

Abraham is also the father of every true disciple of the Lord Jesus Christ. Really. Look it up if not believing this.

Then remember…every day. The Lord’s Day. Our Great and Good God and what He has done for us through His sacrifice of His Son, Jesus, and in providing a Comforter, the Holy Spirit to teach us, lift us, help us, instruct us, correct us, and guide us.

Rest assured. Every day, dear Christian.

The Power of Remembering

July 7, 2023

By Rabbi Akiva Gersh

Remember Your servants, Abraham, Isaac, and Israel, how You swore to them by Yourself and said to them: I will make your offspring as numerous as the stars of heaven, and I will give to your offspring this whole land of which I spoke, to possess forever

Exodus 32:13

God commonly uses the word zachor, Hebrew for “remember,” when instructing the children of Israel to remain aware of something of great importance. When God commands us to “Remember the Sabbath day, to keep it holy” (Exodus 20:7), it means that the holiness of the Sabbath is meant to permeate our entire week as we anticipate and yearn for the opportunity to draw closer to God on His holy day of rest.
