Steps

Thou hast enlarged my steps under me; so that my feet did not slip.

11 Samuel 22:37

I have a quote of Nathaniel Bonner’s on the right hand side bar of the Home Page;

God usually does not tell you the whole path. He only tells you the next step. Therefore your most important step…is your next step.

Not only is our next step our most important step we take it is the ONLY step we can take. We cannot step backwards in this life or project forward into some future we have not yet been given. I know when I take my next step unless I do so with God and keeping God and His word in mind and practice my next step if attempted on my own can be a slippery one. I could slip and fall.

All too often to my liking I am taking steps without allowing God our Father to enlarge my steps, I’m not always stepping upon the word of God to keep me from slipping and falling over myself.

I really do not have any control. I really do not know what is best for me. But God knows what is best for me and thus it would be best if I kept Him and Christ and the word of God in mind ALWAYS — taking each step with God, Christ and the Scriptures in my heart, mind, spirit and soul — enlarging my steps and keeping me from slipping because this world is a very slippery place and treading within it on our own leads to dangerous and deadly falls.

May we all learn to rely continually and always upon the Lord our God and Christ our Redeemer and Lord to enlarge our steps and keep us from this slippery world and from falling.
