Spirit Fog

A CROOKED PATH

I imagine almost everyone has heard of or even experienced what has become known as brain fog. It comes it goes for those who may know it well. No big deal unless the mind is foggier more times than it is not. But have you heard of or ever considered spirit fog?

I was watching an English Premier League Football match early this morning and the ex-footballer that was a co-commentator during this particular match saw something on the pitch a player did and he said, “He had a bit of brain fog there.”

Instantly within my mind, I thought of the words spirit fog. And how spirit fog is much more prevalent and of far greater consequences than brain fog. The overwhelming majority of folks walking about are in perpetual spirit fog.

Every person has a part of them that isn’t flesh, isn’t bone, blood, or isn’t sinew or tissue, or vital organ. Something that isn’t outward appearance yet is always present within the person. Until death does part this particular part of an individual. And it happens to be THEE MOST IMPORTANT PART of every person while being the most neglected, ignored, lost, mistreated, abused, and spending time most of the time in places it ought never to venture.

The spirit within every person. Accompanied by the soul. Spirit and soul are entwined and cannot be separated. Though they are separated from the individual’s fleshly existence upon their death. The fleshly body and everything within it dies. Decays. Reverts back to dust. But the spirit, the spirit, and the soul continue on. The consciousness that is within every person and cannot be shaken removed, denied, hid from no matter what a person may attempt to do in order to detach themselves from that voice, that awareness in them. It even exists in the totally oblivious, ignorant and unaware.

People spend inordinate hours, money, effort, and thought in their outward appearance. Maintaining the flesh. Some folks spend $300 on a hair appointment or more. Thousands over the course of a year on beer, wine, and liquor. Or buying porn. On clothing. Primping and preening.

Yet they won’t spend a moment or a few dollars in God’s Holy and inerrant Word. Attending to their spirit, their soul.

Oh, they’ll spend billions worldwide — BILLIONS — seeking the answers to their thirst and hunger for the answer. Yoga, gurus, pilgrimages, books, videos, conferences, special vacations, personal counselors, therapy, trinkets, graven images, idols, specialized equipment, devices, ornaments, baubles, symbols, and you name it in the quest for spiritual enlightenment and peace.

Always less peaceful and enlightened along their journey into darkness and delusion.

Stumbling about in their spiritual fog. Possessing chronic spirit fog.

A malady that unless properly diagnosed and treated leads to eternal damnation.

That’s even worse than learning you’ve contracted cancer. And learning that you’ve contracted cancer, an inoperable one, and you’re only given X amount of time in this fleshly realm is a terrible thing to become knowledgeable of.

Yet the overwhelming majority refuse the diagnosis of chronic spirit fog and its eternally terminal outcome unless acknowledged and properly treated.

A spirit, a soul, a gift from God the Creator to acknowledge Him and His Son, the Lord Jesus Christ, to faithfully believe, to live to obey along the way leading to eternal life and the infinite wonders of that eternal life in heaven ought to be every individual’s highest health priority and it is the most neglected, mistreated, misled and misdirected, abused part. Of most folks.

No hypochondriacs, really, are there when it comes to spiritual health and well-being are there?

Churches are closing in every Western nation while medical facilities are being built left, right, north, south, up and down everywhere.

We tend to the body and obsess about the physical while harshly, brutally, abusing, and ignoring the most important part of being born human. Our spirits, our souls. Which continue on — forever — while the body lives at most 70, 80, 100 years or so and dies, rots, and turns to dust.

Not so the soul, the spirit.

Which will take up residence, fully aware, in only one of two places. Forever. For eternity. Which is a really, really long time beyond human comprehension. You’ll acquire brain fog if you attempt to conceive and imagine eternity for too long a time. So don’t even try.

Most aren’t even aware they’re in perpetual spirit fog. Denying their eternal parts destined for one of only two places.

Pause. Find a quiet, private place. Allow your heart and mind to be clear, as clear as ever, with no fog or mist present. And permit yourself to ruthlessly, honestly, and critically acknowledge the true state and condition of your spirit, your soul. And if knowing that the flesh dies and fades away but the spirit and soul go on — eternally — can you, will you now and as long as your flesh remains animated, God blesses your flesh with breath and a beating heart acknowledge God as Father, the Jesus Christ as Lord and have Hime become Lord of your life, trusting and listening to the Holy Spirit, and immerse yourself in God’s Word to learn His will, His ways, and the Way to Truth, Light, and eternal Life for your spirit and soul.

Allow the Son to remove the spirit fog.

It’s simple if you’ll only try if you’ll truly believe.

How is this possible? Well, I know and write from firsthand experience. I was in perpetual spirit fog imagining myself in the light and knowing stuff. Doing okay. Until I looked around and thought critically, and honestly about myself. About life on this earth. And the Lord lifted the fog and I came to finally see, to finally truly know. Not of my doing — but of the Lord Who was always there — calling me and my heart, my spirit finally heard and acknowledged and the fog was instantly lifted. Burned off.

And life has never been the same.

I still experience brain fog at times. I’m only human. But the Good Lord, the love, mercy, forgiveness, and free gift of grace, the Great Sacrifice of God in the Lord Jesus Christ has removed and kept the spirit fog I was perpetually in away. Due to my faith. My being transformed and renewed of mind and spirit — and the fog, which is produced by the world’s fog machine, which is operated and owned by Satan — was burned away.

Ironically, tragically, those who refuse to acknowledge the importance of their spirit and soul, of eternity on only one of two possible landing spots for their spirit and soul to reside eternally, those who refuse to believe, to take Jesus the Christ as Lord of their life…their spirit and soul will burn forever in the pit of hell.

Don’t hear that much anymore. Perhaps it’s time to revive and acknowledge that truth.

This coming out of the perpetual spirit fog can’t be stressed enough, of being lost in the fog and coming to the Way, the Truth, the Life, and Light which is Jesus Christ the Lord.

Whoever believes in the Son has eternal life; whoever does not obey the Son shall not see life, but the wrath of God remains on him.

John 3:36

From fog to clarity and light, or remaining forever in the fog and receiving the just consequences.

That is what this life on earth, this short fleshly life is actually about.
