Enough already.

What I am about to write will likely alienate, anger, and annoy some or many — enough of the focus and priority on America, nationalism, politics, and the daily headlines as if they are prophecy.

If a true Christian? A true disciple of the Lord Jesus Christ? Then you know you are a citizen of heaven and all this we see, hear and think is the most important reality is going to vaporize. Be gone forever.

There are only two realities. And they are within the spiritual realm, not the fleshly realm in which people are mired thinking the flesh is the greatest and most important reality.

And those two realities are heaven and hell. Eternity.

And this utter lost nonsense, SIN, IDOL WORSHIP of certain men or women, or a certain nation, or political party or a flag is not what true disciples of the Lord Jesus Christ do and make such a high priority.

All TRUE, REAL, GENUINE prophets and prophecy of and from God come true 100% of the time. Without fail. And without excuse or hedging and doing and readjusting.

There are more false prophets and lies and misinformation than true prophets. Yet the overwhelming majority of folks gravitate to and follow and believe the lies and dismiss the truth. In most instances, in most things in this sinful life. And, yes, even if you are a true Christian you still sin. I sin daily. Every person in the flesh no matter who still sins. Not accepting that and certainly not saying sin is acceptable — it’s just a fact that as long as we’re living in the flesh we will sin during the course of our daily lives. Fall short of the glory of God.

Stop following and believing the false teachers, the unsound doctrines, and the false prophets misleading millions astray. Stop making a nation, a person, politics, and newspaper headlines what is your main source of information — and ESPECIALLY STOP making whatever is on this most unsocial social media a source you gravitate to a believe!

One of the paragraphs from Dr. Michael L. Brown’s excellent column below states it very well;

The Lord does tell us what we need to know, first and foremost in His Word. And He does guide us by His Spirit. But He does not give us random information in advance or satisfy our curiosity. Nor, for the most part, does He give us news headlines in advance.

Do you want to know what’s most important? Even most relevant and current? The absolute truth? What is coming and why? What to expect and look for? What you really need to know and thus prepare accordingly? You REALLY, TRULY want to know what God says, thinks, and what His will is?

Then turn to the only true source to answer EVERY question above, and answer EVERY question anyone could ever ask or imagine.

Dive deeply into the inerrant infallible living and active Word of God.

I was told a long time ago by a person I knew and had regular contact with that spent a lot of time here on ACP that I didn’t need to write the word inerrant in mentioning the Bible.

Well, it’s clear that is not the case. Is it?

The overwhelming majority of folks and this is addressed to — those professing to be Christian — and interestingly they do not spend time here, subscribe to this site, or visit regularly so those who need to read this won’t, and those who don’t need to read it will. That’s how it seems to go. But the overwhelming majority of those progressing to be “Chrisitan” today — the most misused word in the English language at this time, “Christian” as the legions who profess to be so but do not exhibit one bit, one morsel of being such, of being truly REGENERATED, TRANSFORMED, RENEWED OF MIND AND SPIRIT — CHANGED — by the power of the Spirit of God to work in their hearts, the power of the Person of the Holy Spirit to work in their hearts and lives — they do not spend time in Scripture. Period.

Far too many only intellectualize God, Jesus, what Christianity is and have no idea of what being a truly transformed and renewed of mind (heart) and spirit born anew disciple of the Lord Jesus Christ entails, means, or how that impacts and totally changes a person’s life. Their daily thinking, walk, speech, deeds, and their PRIORITIES.

Do not misunderstand or imagine things that are not present.

I am thankful every day for having been born in America. I’m old enough to know and remember what America once was. Used to be.

I’m also old enough to know, even if I wasn’t a renewed of mind and spirit, born anew disciple of Jesus Christ not to ever put my faith in any man or woman. Or institution created of and by man.

I’m fluent enough in the Word of God to also know all that we see, can touch? All that we think is so real here? It’s all going to disappear. Be vaporized. To exist nevermore. It’s fleeting. It is an illusion of reality.

Do you want to know the realist most real reality there is? The spiritual realm. For that is eternal.

You would then think, would you not, if people actually believed that they would live accordingly would you not?

By their fruits, you will know them.

Where does a person place their heart? Their mind? Their priorities?

As a born anew disciple of Jesus? As a disciple (student, follower) of God and Jesus and the Holy Spirit, I know my only REAL instruction comes from reading and meditating upon the Word of God and through prayer. From meditating and reading the inerrant infallible Word of God. The ONLY BOOK ON EARTH EVER that is 100% true, 100% accurate.

The only book on earth to tell us past, present and future history.

Stop listening to and turning to men who in truth are misguided at the least and are ministers of Satan at the most.

There is only one source of truth and only one source to make our priority.

God, Jesus, the Holy Spirit. And They can be found, heard, known, and learned in one place.

The Holy Bible.

Not a newspaper. Not any so-called broadcast or print news media. Certainly not on social media. Not from the lying tongue of a man who seeks to glorify and draw attention to himself rather than humbling himself, submitting, and glorifying God. Trusting God. Believing God.

Let’s all pray for greater discernment. Let’s all pray for spiritual growth and to distance ourselves further from this world. To live such lives, changed lives, that by merely living we are examples and exemplify being a light unto the world. The salt of the earth.

And forsake the lies, misinformation, the itching ears, the false teachers, false prophets, and people who claim to be Chrisitan but by their example, by their fruit are proven to be anything and everything but.

Do not fear discerning all things wisely and according to the truth, the ways, and the Word of God.

We only can walk on the right path growing as we go by judging wisely, discerning wisely, and searching the Scriptures to learn if what we’re being told is founded in God’s Word and thus truth, or is merely another lie from man, thus another lie from the father of lies, the devil, to mislead, distract, draw away those who say they are the Lord’s.

Evil never rests or sleeps and employs billions in its service willingly.

Be prepared in this ongoing and escalating spiritual war dear ones. Be equipped and prepared and suited up in the full armour of God (see Ephesians 6 if not familiar).

Prophecies Are Not Simply Newspaper Headlines in Advance

March 8, 2021

By Michael L. Brown

Reprinted from ASKDRBrown

Now that the New York TimesPolitico, and other, major secular outlets have covered the failed presidential prophecies, why don’t we make this a teachable moment and ask a basic question about prophecy? Specifically, when prophecy is predictive (and therefore foretelling rather than forthtelling), is it equivalent to headline news in advance?

The reason I ask this question is because the recent presidential prophecies were presented like news headlines in advance, informing us of specific dates and details, none of which came to pass. Yet millions of Christians were urged to believe these specific words and were rebuked when they saw fit to question them.

But is prophecy normally that specific, especially in terms of dates? Is this the biblical pattern?

To be sure, many events are predicted in the Bible with specificity, and on rare occasion, there are specific times and dates put on the prophecies.

But that is certainly not the norm. Instead, future prophecies are frequently spoken in such a way that there is some level of ambiguity in terms of how, exactly, they will come to pass. And often, it is only once they have come to pass that we realize they were true. Otherwise, people would try to manipulate them into happening prematurely or try to stop them from coming to pass.

Think about for it a minute.

The most important prophecies in history had to do with the death and resurrection of Jesus. And when you read passages like Isaiah 53 – see our animated video on this amazing chapter here – it seems totally clear. God predicted it hundreds of years in advance!

Yet, to our knowledge, no one in Jesus’ generation fully understood those prophecies until after His death and resurrection. And even then, He had to open His disciples’ eyes. Then they saw it all clearly. It was all written in advance. (Read all of Luke 24 for two relevant accounts.)

Why, then, do we think that prophecies today will be so much clearer?

Some years ago, I had the privilege of writing a commentary on the book of Jeremiah, and now, after completing a commentary on Job, I’m working on a commentary on Isaiah.

Here’s one of the prophecies from Isaiah: “A prophecy against Dumah: Someone calls to me from Seir, ‘Watchman, what is left of the night? Watchman, what is left of the night?’ The watchman replies, ‘Morning is coming, but also the night. If you would ask, then ask; and come back yet again.’” (Isaiah 21:11-12)

Is that clear? Would you like to tell me exactly what it means?

Or how about one of the famous prophecies from the Book of Revelation, speaking of the so-called “mark of the beast,” which some interpret with reference to Caesar and others with reference to a future antichrist? “This calls for wisdom: let the one who has understanding calculate the number of the beast, for it is the number of a man, and his number is 666.” (Revelation 13:18)

What does 666 stand for? You would be amazed to see how many interpretations have been proposed.

This doesn’t mean that there is no significance to these words. It simply means that they are not simply presented like news headlines in advance. Or, when they do appear to be as plain as news headlines, there is often ambiguity in terms of exactly when they will come to pass.

Again, there are many prophecies that are very specific, such as Jonah warning Nineveh that the city would be destroyed in 40 days unless they repented. Or Isaiah telling Hezekiah that, because of his prayer, his life would be extended 15 years.

And when prophecy is more a matter of forthtelling than foretelling, it is often quite direct and explicit, calling out sin and calling for repentance in clear and specific ways (read Revelation 2-3 for examples).

When it comes to some of the most famous Trump prophecies, such as Mark Taylor’s, he initially thought Trump would run and be elected in 2012, which was wrong. Then, he realized he got his timing wrong (which is not uncommon with prophecies), and rightly prophesied Trump’s victory in 2016, along with him appointing three Supreme Court justices, which also happened. But he also predicted Trump serving a second term. That, obviously, has not yet happened.

It’s similar with the oft-referenced prophecies about Trump by the late Kim Clement. When you listen to them, some of them make sense and some do not. In fact, one of his most quoted prophecies seems to describe Trump as man of few words, yet he was anything but that.

You might say, “Then why make such a big fuss about the failed Trump prophecies now? Maybe they didn’t really fail? Maybe they’ll still come to pass?”

Actually, some were quite specific and did fail, such as those guaranteeing that Biden would not serve a day in the White House. Or those guaranteeing Trump would serve 8 consecutive years. Or those assuring us that he would be inaugurated on January 20.

Not only so, but many of the prophets who predicted these things castigated those who did not believe them. They claimed their words were specific and definite and therefore, they urged, it behooved us to trust what they said.

This is not just abusive and out of order. It is also missing the way prophecy often works – and that is mysteriously.

The Lord does tell us what we need to know, first and foremost in His Word. And He does guide us by His Spirit. But He does not give us random information in advance or satisfy our curiosity. Nor, for the most part, does He give us news headlines in advance.

Had we recognized this last year, we would not have put such credence in specific words about a specific candidate getting elected at a specific time. And we would have avoided a lot of confusion and disappointment.

Next time, around, God helping we will know better.
