Practical Desire

Scripture passages appear in Italics from the King James Version
Impractical path
the
world of desire
all desiring the world
all the world passing
once lusting, coveting begins, never satiated
O foolish man fated
desire,
desire,
desire
yet more
never quenched
always thirsting
feeling of desire
internally the envying liar
looking what else is in store
appetite for acquisition
living only as a noun
seeking to conquer, acquire
people,
places,
or things
no part of truths vocabulary
constant envying
like a three year old
unwrapping a gift
all excited
eyes appearing to burst
while within five minutes
more thirst,
never satiated
looking elsewhere
beyond
yet always within this world
the world is never enough
yet,
do they pause to contemplate
all they have overflowing upon their plate
will the desiring the world
ever see
before the time grows to late?
But thine eyes
and thine heart
are not but for thy covetousness,
and for to shed innocent blood,
and for oppression,
and for violence,
to do it.
And they come unto thee
as the people cometh,
and they sit before thee
as my people,
and they hear thy words,
but they will not do them:
for with their mouth they shew much love,
but their heart goeth after their covetousness.
And lo, thou art unto them
as a very lovely song
of one that hath a pleasant voice,
and can play well on an instrument:
for they hear thy words,
but they do not do them.
And when this cometh to pass,
(lo, it will come)
then shall they know
that a prophet hath been among them.
But
there were false prophets
also among the people,
even as there shall be false teachers among you,
who privily shall bring in damnable heresies,
even denying the Lord that brought them,
and bring upon themselves swift destruction.
And man shall follow their pernicious ways;
by reason of whom the way of truth
shall be evil spoken of.
And through covetousness
shall they with feigned words
make merchandise of you:
whose judgment now of a long time
lingereth not,
and their damnation slumbereth not.
All this passing world offers
is impractical desire
a long and winding road
with no rest
even upon death
false empty words
all will crumble and rot
no matter how much one acquires or has got
a worldly mansion
filled to the ceilings
still leaves an empty feeling
always desiring
more,
more,
more,
thinking the next conquest
acquisition
thing
will quench the void within
while in truth
all that envy, desire, coveting
is just an accumulation of never ending sin
Practical desire
leads
to true life
peace within
each day
begin
in thanksgiving unto the Lord
with all His blessings He does accord
Desire
the ways of God
the matters of heaven
think on things eternal
of true pleasure and joy
of the Lord, of pleasing God
rather than this passing
crazed
perverted
gone astray along their way
each and every day
world
where
no one
nor nothing
can save you
and
all will eventually experience eternity
it is just a matter of place
in one’s heart and spirit
do you create enough space
for the Lord to fill and do His work
when the Lord speaks
can you hear it
vibrate
the fiber of your heart and soul
or do you care more of this passing world
and make futile things your goal
We all have a spirit
in servitude
we are either servants of this world
of all that matters not
caring about the things that will rot
our spirits dry and blind
or
we are servants of God
and Christ Jesus the Son
where treasures beyond value one can find
Lay not up for yourselves
treasures upon earth,
where moth and rust doth corrupt,
and where thieves break through and steal:
But lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven,
where neither moth nor rust doth corrupt,
and where thieves do not break through nor steal:
For where your treasure is,
there will be your heart also.
The light of the body is the eye:
if therefore thine eye be single,
thy whole body shall be full of light.
But if thine eye be evil,
thy whole body shall be full of darkness.
If therefore the light that is thee be darkness,
how great is thy darkness?
No man can serve two masters:
for either he will hate the one,
and love the other;
or else he will hold to the one,
and despise the other.
Ye cannot serve God and mammon.
Therefore I say unto you,
Take no thought for your life,
what ye shall eat,
or what ye shall drink;
nor yet for your body,
what ye shall put on.
Is not life more than meat,
and the body more than raiment?
Behold the fowls of the air:
for they sow not,
neither do they reap,
nor gather into barns;
yet your heavenly Father feedeth them.
Are ye not much better than they?
But seek ye first the kingdom of God,
and His righteousness;
and all these things shall be added unto you.
Take therefore no thought for the morrow:
for the morrow shall take thought
for the things of itself.
Sufficient unto the day is the evil thereof.
