Kol tachath dek
(All the same)
Ken Pullen – copyright 2011
Hebrew is presented in transliteration form
Scripture appears in Italics from the King James Version
O heavenly Father, that you would rip apart
the heavens
that the mountains might melt and flow
with your presence
for our wayward
sinful hearts
O Lord, Jehovah Elyon
shine Thy righteous light in my spirit
leading me where to go
forsaking this lust-filled flesh
caught in the snare
of the lies, sweet words, distractions
caught in the air
like flies to flypaper
do the words come
from man
from woman
few adding up to any real sum
most equal to already chewed gum
stuck somewhere thought hidden
O Lord, Jehovah Elyon
may my spirit
my mind
my heart
grow closer to Thee
from this ghastly, foul
sin plagued world of liars
I flee
drawing each moment
each day
closer to Thee
Kol tachath dek
all the same
one
and
all
the
same
no matter their refrain
Oh that thou wouldest rend the heavens,
that thou wouldest come down,
that the mountains might flow down
at thy presence,
As when the melting fire burneth,
the fire causeth the waters to boil,
to make
thy name
known
to thine adversaries,
that the nations may tremble at thy presence!
When thou didst
terrible things
which we looked not for,
thou camest
down,
the mountains flowed down at thy presence.
For
since the beginning
of the world
men have not heard,
nor perceived by the ear,
neither hath the eye seen,
O God,
beside thee,
what he hath prepared for him
that waiteth for him.
Thou meetest him
that rejoiceth
and worketh
righteousness,
those that remember
thee in thy ways:
behold,
thou art wroth;
for we have sinned:
in those is continuance,
and we shall be saved.
But we are all as an unclean thing,
and
all
our
righteousnesses
are as filthy rags;
and we all do fade as a leaf;
and our iniquties,
like the wind,
have taken us away.
And there is none that calleth upon thy name,
that stirreth up himself to take hold of thee:
for thou hast consumed us,
because of our iniquities.
But now,
O Lord,
thou art our Father;
we are the clay,
and thou our potter;
and we all are the work of thy hand.
Kol tachath dek
all the same
we are all the same
all the same
in need
for all live in times where we fail to heed
the Word
rather
enveloped in the flesh
the here and always distracting now
of this world
O Lord,
I pray upon bent knees
the pure spirit you see
before you
for Lord I adore you
ask in repentant heart
to be drawn closer to Thee
from this vile world my focus be shaken
to sin
I would not be taken
doing that which I should not do
not doing that which I should do
may my heart
my mind
my spirit
my soul
my life
be lived
tsedaqah
if even if filthy rags
before thy throne
tsadaq
my desire
as Thy will
Thy Word
Thy Truth
lifts me higher
closer to Thee
from this world to end
lost in sin
lies
deception
do I yearn to flee!
Is there one whose words
are true?
Who knows the meaning of follow through?
Are our lips nothing but reeds
a quiver
devoid
unable
any truth to deliver?
Kol tachath dek
all the same
we
are
all
the
same
we are all as an unclean thing
and all our righteousnesses
are
as filthy rages
for we do fade as a leaf
and our sin
our lies
our delusion
our selfishness
our fleshly desires
our illusion
our iniquities
like the wind
have taken us away…
