A few years ago, as part of the U.S. Millennial Holocaust Knowledge and Awareness Survey, researchers randomly polled millennials and Generation Z members from all 50 states. And they found a troubling lack of knowledge about the Holocaust.
Sixty-three percent of the people they surveyed didn’t know that six million Jews were killed in the Holocaust. And 11 percent of the group actually thought that Jews caused the Holocaust.
The Holocaust was a horrific stain on human history. As part of Hitler’s so-called final solution, the Nazis sent six million Jewish men, women, and children to ghettos and concentration camps and systematically murdered them.
So who would have believed the nation Israel then would come into existence? It seemed virtually impossible. Yet in the aftermath of the Holocaust, Jews from around the world began returning to their homeland.
On May 14, 1948, a modern-day miracle happened. Israel, surrounded by enemies that wanted to destroy her, became a nation.
That started the prophetic time clock ticking.
Never has a group of decimated ancient people managed to retain their individual identity for almost twenty centuries and then reestablish their nation and original homeland. Yet the Bible prophesied this would happen. And it did.
Ezekiel 37:11-12 reads, “Then he said unto me, Son of man, these bones are the whole house of Israel: behold, they say, Our bones are dried, and our hope is lost: we are cut off for our parts. Therefore prophesy and say unto them, Thus saith the Lord God; Behold, O my people, I will open your graves, and cause you to come up out of your graves, and bring you into the land of Israel.”
Israel plays a key role in the last days. The apostle Paul wrote, “For I would not, brethren, that ye should be ignorant of this mystery, lest ye should be wise in your own conceits; that blindness in part is happened to Israel, until the fulness of the Gentiles be come in. And so all Israel shall be saved: as it is written, There shall come out of Sion the Deliverer, and shall turn away ungodliness from Jacob: For this is my covenant unto them, when I shall take away their sins.” (Romans 11:25-27).
God is not done with Israel. He will work in her future. And God keeps His promises. He will keep His promise to Israel, He will keep His promise to you, and He will keep His promise to come again. Jesus is coming. Are you ready?
