In the Presence of the Lord
by Ken Pullen
Scripture from the King James Version appears in Italics
My soul rejoices
at last
before too late
upon my Lord lifting my heart to life
no longer deaf
nor dead to the pure truth
hearing thy loving, living voice
no longer blind
spirit, mind, heart renewed
eyes open
for the first time
as someone exiting a womb of darkness
into radiant light
alive
alive
alive at last!
In full faith of my Savior, the Conqueror
of sin
of death!
Preserve me,
O God;
for in thee do I put my trust.
O my soul,
thou hast said
unto the Lord,
Thou art my Lord;
my goodness
extendeth not to thee;
But to the saints who are in the earth,
and to the excellent,
in whom
is all my delight.
Alive to the Truth of thy Living word
in which I can find
the way
to the presence of the Lord
not going in my selfish way
each day
as I had for so long
even in absolute silence
my spirit, my soul, my heart
sings the song
of salvation
only One
only Yeshua can provide
Their sorrows shall be multiplied,
who hasten after another god;
their drink offerings of blood
will I not offer,
not take
up their names into my lips.
The Lord is the portion
of mine inheritance
and of my cup;
thou maintainest my lot.
I live each breath
by the will of God
seeking
to remain
in the presence of the Lord
The lines are fallen
unto me
in pleasant places;
yea,
I have
a goodly heritage.
I will bless the Lord,
who hath given me counsel:
my heart also instructs me
in the night seasons.
Once hollow
a drying, parched, thirsting never filled and rusted soul
another walking dead full of holes
living life similar to blind
going in perpetual death spiral moles
retaining the rancidity of this evil world
clogged
flaking
breaking
with every lifeless word, philosophy
dusty footsteps of other men
making nothing but mud
with the dripping lies
from their vile drool
they peddle as enlightenment
or
in constant stagnation
like a constipated animal
stuck in a trap
going nowhere
thinking I could find my own way
my spirit
all but invisible
I
existed
among
the walking dead
one of them
stumbling
giving the illusion of walking upright
by worldly definition
I lived in daily perdition
I have set the Lord
always before me;
because
He is at my right hand,
I shall not be moved.
By Thy loving hand
with thy Holy Spirit
was I led
to the presence of the Lord
Therefore my heart is glad,
and my glory rejoiceth;
my flesh
also shall rest in hope.
For thou wilt not leave my soul in sheol,
neither wilt thou permit
thine Holy One to see corruption.
I rejoice for thy lift
every upward current
of thy feathered wings
thy gift
of sacrificed Son
Yeshua
Lord of Lords
King of Kings
to keep lowly me
from deaths sting
to raise my spirit
show me life
heal my heart to eternally sing
protected by thy Spirit
encompassed in thy strength
to conquer as thy Son
if I remain true
growing
always living
reverence
honor
praise
worship
diligent discipleship
to Son
to Thee
my Lord
my God
residing in truth
in the presence of the Lord
Thou wilt show me the path of life.
In thy presence
is fullness of joy;
at thy right hand
there are
pleasures for evermore.
