Going to a tree surgeon for a toothache

So, you have tolerated a painful tooth in your mouth long enough. Can’t take it anymore. It is dominating everything all day and night long. So, you call a local tree surgeon and make an appointment with them to provide the remedy and make things right, right?

What? No? Not the proper course of action to take?

Okay. Why then — and this is directed solely at any person professing to be a Christian, a true disciple of the Lord Jesus Christ as they ought to know that those outside of Christ are not only walking about in darkness, every person outside of Christ IS darkness, lost, and led about by the prince of the air, as they inhale lie laden air of this world — why then do so many professed disciples of the Lord Jesus Christ put their faith in a place, a person, a system that is destined to disappear? Disappear for eternity.

Forever forgotten.

I imagine many a professed Christian may have prayed, continues to pray, “Oh God, please make sure in the upcoming election __________ wins and America will be great again as it once was!”

“Heavenly Father please let Issue number ____ be passed/defeated in the upcoming election so that everything can be good again!”

As if anything has ever truly been good since Adam and Eve decided to listen to that Old Dragon, Satan to rebel and disobey God. Receiving our just reward for our disobedience. And we still haven’t learned a thing since then, have we?

So it appears…Christian. Especially in America. Today.

It only becomes worse. And worse. And we are closer to the Lord’s return today than ever before in world history. Much more important than any election, nation’s system of government, any politician, or political ideology. Or WILL OF THE PEOPLE that replaces THE WILL OF GOD.

Here’s something to deeply ponder. Since God ordains every world leader could it possibly be we have been given the world leaders we have been given not to whine about, make demands for change to ones of our liking, continuing to be foolish and unwise, being indistinguishable from every worldly person, but perhaps to get us to see we have brought about everything ourselves? Due to our turning from God and sound doctrine? Turning from the Holy Bible? To our own ways? Everyone doing whatever they please, whatever they deem is right and acceptable?

Humm…there’s something in the Holy Bible about this very thing. Might be a good idea to search it out. And upon reading it. Believe it. And then determine to live according to God’s will — His Word, rather than our will be done, whatever we think is right is right and the things of this world are of uppermost importance.

Ever come across a template for how to properly approach the throne of God and pray? Where we stand before Almighty God?

“And when you pray, do not heap up empty phrases as the Gentiles do, for they think that they will be heard for their many words.  Do not be like them, for your Father knows what you need before you ask him.  Pray then like this:

I’ve been present in corporate prayer groups where people professing to know God, to walk with Christ offer up prayers such as this, word for word;

“Heavenly Father please give Putin cancer so that he may die.”

“Dear God, please make sure Donald Trump wins the election, and while you’re at it cause great suffering to democrats.”

And on and on it goes.

How about praying “God our Father, Lord Jesus Christ, Holy Spirit, Almighty God, hallowed be Your name and may Your will be done in this land, on the earth, as it is in heaven, and may I place all my trust in you and abide in Your will, to grow closer to You what may come.”

Or along those lines.

Who are we oh man, woman, and child to go to God making non-spiritual demands and trying to swing an election? As if ANY politician elected will be a righteous, godly presence in the Oval Office at this time in history.

Erring greatly in placing trust and emphasis in the things and people of this world rather than the Lord.

Believing this world takes priority over the eternal. Giving more thought and prayer to the temporal, the carnal, the worldly than the spiritual and eternal.

Believing, praying, and acting as if we know more than God and our will, our demands and desires — no matter how worldly or ungodly, unrighteous they may be ought to take precedence over…

“Our Father in heaven,
hallowed be your name.
Your kingdom come,
your will be done,
on earth as it is in heaven.”

Is it any wonder this land, this people, the world has rapidly gone the way it has? With the overwhelming majority going to a tree surgeon when they have a toothache rather than going to the root, the core foundational Truine God, the Holy Bible, FAITH, TRUST, in the Lord, eternally.

God’s thoughts and ways are not our thoughts and ways.

God’s will be done.

Not ours.

God’s will be done in ALL THINGS.

May we be spiritually mature enough, perceptive enough, spiritually strong enough, and wise enough to recognize God’s will and increase in faith as a result. No matter what comes. Preparing for the days ahead — which are not going to be better than days past.

Read the Scriptures. Study the Scriptures. Meditate deeply — think deeply, ponder deeply, practice what is read and studied. Go to the right source, the right Practitioner for EVERY problem and concern.

Not just for an election cycle. Or a person’s individual fleshly life cycle here.

America is not eternal.

The Republican party, the Democratic party, communism, socialism, every, any ism, and all political ideologies are NOT eternal.

Donald Trump nor any politician is God. Going to be a savior. Even though there are many professed Christians who place Mr. Trump, others, this nation either above or on God’s level — savior. Sorry, he’s not, they’re not, it’s not.

We’ve lost our way and that is why things are as they are today.

But…here’s what is eternal…

Heaven is.

Hell is.

Every individual’s spirit and soul are.

Nothing more. Nothing less.

So, heading to a tree surgeon for that next toothache?

Or when ANY trouble, worry, problem, thing to consider, decision to make, anything that ails comes along where will you go for the remedy, the cure? Solace and protection. The truth. Reality. Life. Light. Clarity. Calm and reason.
