Retired Reformed Presbyterian Pastor and Founder and President, Center for Cultural Leadership

“In reading Psalm 15 years ago, it occurred to me that the psalmist’s description of the “blameless” man (v. 2), the one who will sojourn with the Lord (v. 1), the one “in whose eyes a vile person is despised” (v. 4) does not coincide very well with the popular idea that those who truly understand they’re saved by grace realize they are no better than any other sinners and that they should avoid all hostility whatsoever towards them. In the Bible, it appears as though those who become more holy, grow more to despise sin, not just in their own lives, but in the lives of others. This is not a popular message in our egalitarian age, but it is the biblical message.
