You can call it “progressive praise,” I call it serving Satan praise. If something is devoid of the LORD, of the Word of God, of the Spirit of God, what is it then? It can only be one other thing in this world. There are not myriad multiple choices or avenues to correctly go down here.
Everything is either good, right, true, of God and His ways. Or they are not, and if not they don’t reside in some vacuum, a void, or a place defined by man and woman, but defined by God, and that place is then where sin, wickedness, the devil lies and lies in wait to deceive, ensanre, cause confusion and do his mischief and mayhem.
The constant and ever increasing erosion within what passes for the Christian Church is one of the most glaring evidences of just how close we are to the end of this world as it has been known, of the LORD Jesus Christ, Yeshua Hamashiach coming to gather His truly born from above and obedient, fighi8tng the good fight, in boldness, awareness, in truth to Him in the pending Rapture, and then the revealing of the Antichrist, his false prophet, the Holy Spirit no longer restraining, and ushering in The Great Tribulaiton and the seven year period before Jesus returns a Second Time.
“For certain men have crept in unnoticed, who long ago were marked out for this condemnation, ungodly men, who turn the grace of our God into lewdness and deny the only Lord God and our Lord Jesus Christ.”
Jude 1:4
Not only have certain men crept in. In the latter 20th and 21st centuries certain women have crept in as well.
It probably could not occur to Jude, Jesus’ half-brother, that women would be as militant, yes, militant as they have become in the latter 20th and 21st century and seized the positions they have in the church while men weak in Scipture knowledge and sound doctrine have permitted it to occur [see How The Rejection Of Bible Prophecy Paved The Way For Paula White’s Disturbing Rise To Power as but one example]. Such are the times in which we live.
Nothing has changed since that eventful day in the Garden of Eden.
Don’t misunderstand. I love women. Women are God’s greatest creation. I am all for mutual respect, being a helpmate, equal pay for equal work, and stellar treatment of women. But feminism, which is merely rebranded paganism [New Age Dogmas and Doctrines], is against the Word of God. And that is what has crept into the Church. Along with everything that feminism truly is. And it isn’t about equal pay for equal work, friends, do not continue to be deceived. or breaking any glass ceilings. This should be evident to every born from above man and woman at this point in history. As well as evident to more men and women who are yet, and may never come to the Light, the Way, the Life and Truth found only in Jesus — but if aware, paying attention, and objective, even the lost find truth in saying these things at this juncture.
The Narrow Way
“Enter by the narrow gate; for wide is the gate and broad is the way that leads to destruction, and there are many who go in by it. Because narrow is the gate and difficult is the way which leads to life, and there are few who find it.
You Will Know Them by Their Fruits
“Beware of false prophets, who come to you in sheep’s clothing, but inwardly they are ravenous wolves. You will know them by their fruits. Do men gather grapes from thornbushes or figs from thistles? Even so, every good tree bears good fruit, but a bad tree bears bad fruit. A good tree cannot bear bad fruit, nor can a bad tree bear good fruit. Every tree that does not bear good fruit is cut down and thrown into the fire. Therefore by their fruits you will know them.
I Never Knew You
“Not everyone who says to Me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ shall enter the kingdom of heaven, but he who does the will of My Father in heaven. Many will say to Me in that day, ‘Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in Your name, cast out demons in Your name, and done many wonders in Your name?’ And then I will declare to them, ‘I never knew you; depart from Me, you who practice lawlessness!’
Build on the Rock
“Therefore whoever hears these sayings of Mine, and does them, I will liken him to a wise man who built his house on the rock: and the rain descended, the floods came, and the winds blew and beat on that house; and it did not fall, for it was founded on the rock.
“But everyone who hears these sayings of Mine, and does not do them, will be like a foolish man who built his house on the sand: and the rain descended, the floods came, and the winds blew and beat on that house; and it fell. And great was its fall.”
And so it was, when Jesus had ended these sayings, that the people were astonished at His teaching, for He taught them as one having authority, and not as the scribes.
Matthew 7:13-29
The Way of the Righteous and the End of the Ungodly
Blessed is the man
Who walks not in the counsel of the ungodly,
Nor stands in the path of sinners,
Nor sits in the seat of the scornful;
But his delight is in the law of the Lord,
And in His law he meditates day and night.
He shall be like a tree
Planted by the rivers of water,
That brings forth its fruit in its season,
Whose leaf also shall not wither;
And whatever he does shall prosper.
The ungodly are not so,
But are like the chaff which the wind drives away.
Therefore the ungodly shall not stand in the judgment,
Nor sinners in the congregation of the righteous.
For the Lord knows the way of the righteous,
But the way of the ungodly shall perish.
Psalm 1
Since “the progressive gospel isn’t the gospel” then how about we all begin calling all of this exactly what it is rather than appeasing evil, applying the language evil wants us to ascribe to these things? How about we all beginv calling everything exactly what it is?
Imagine that.
Actually calling everything what it really is instead of abiding sin, pleasing Satan, accepting wickedness, perverting language, adding to the corruption and confusion, and delusion.
Wow, if only…
If only all the lazy people who say thay are Christ followers would begin calling everything exactly what it all is instead of the words and definitions created and accepted by the world.
Clarity. Imagine that.
Wow, if only…
But then a stand might need to occur. People might find out there’s a difference in you, is there a difference in you? Or are you just another complying, complicit, nonchalant, words don’t matter, ya gotta go along to get along, don’t rock the boat, everyone does it, everyone says it, get with the program people?
Or, one of the LORD’s and willing to be hated by the world, understanding we’re in an escalating spiritual battle and every person can only be a soldier on one side or the other, unless claiming to be on the LORD’s side and in truth being a traitor.
Really — only two options. Either stand for the LORD and the Word of God, all of it, with clarity and sincerity — or continue with and in and by the world, which is under the cloud of lies and delusion by the prince of the air, Satan.
Only two possible paths, ways, to take each day.
The writers of the article below end in writing: “Let’s write and sing songs that show we do.” Yes, I heartedly agree. But how about this even more so — LET’S SING THE WONDERFUL HYMNS, THOUSANDS TO CHOOSE FROM, WRITTEN WITH BEAUTIFUL LANGUAGE PRAISING, THANKING THE LORD, HEARTFELT LYRICS TO SING TO THE LORD.
How about we try that for a change?
Want to please the heart, the ears of God in praise? Sing the hymns so well written, so beautiful, the hymns that have been cast aside — and ask yourself, “Why is it they have been cast aside? To be replaced by what? Something better?”
Hardly.
Eroiosn, dear ones, the whittling away, the wearing down, the seduction, the slow cunning words, “Why, if you want to get young people to come, you can’t play and sing all those old songs, no, no, no…here’s what you must do…”
Right. Whose voice is that? God’s? Or someone else?

When Worship Loses The Word – The Dangerous Drift Of Progressive Praise
May 19, 2025

There’s a sobering line in the prophet Hosea that echoes with fresh urgency today: “My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge” (Hosea 4:6). It’s a warning to every generation that when we lose our grounding in the Word of God, we lose far more than clarity–we lose our very identity. Worship is not immune from this erosion. In fact, it may be the front line where the spiritual battle over truth is most quietly fought and dangerously lost.
A recent example of this drift comes from The Well Church in Gilbert, Arizona, which introduced a worship song that’s quickly making waves–not because of its beauty, but because of its bold embrace of theological confusion. The song’s catch phrase is “We’ve Got No Idea What We’re Doing,” and while the theme itself may be unintentionally honest, what follows is a troubling snapshot of what happens when worship untethers itself from biblical truth.
Here are some of the lyrics:
God bless the Christian
God bless the atheist
God bless the Muslim
God bless the rest of us
We’ve got no idea
What we’re doing
Let all our friends in
And all our enemies
All of our children
All of our families
We’ve got no idea
What we’re doing
We’ve tried to find you
Throughout the centuries
Different religions in
Different countries
We’ve got no idea
What we’re doing
When Worship Replaces Revelation with Relativism
At first glance, this song might sound like a plea for unity, tolerance, or humility. But beneath the surface is a dangerous message: that truth is unknowable, doctrine is divisive, and everyone’s “spiritual truth” is equally valid. This is not humility–it’s heresy.
Let’s be clear. The Christian faith is not a foggy attempt to guess at God’s nature. It is the glorious revelation of God in Christ, who said, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me” (John 14:6). The idea that “we’ve got no idea what we’re doing” when it comes to knowing and worshiping God directly contradicts Scripture, which declares that God has made Himself known through His Word, through His Son, and through the indwelling presence of the Holy Spirit.
The suggestion that all religions are equally valid paths to God is universalism–a belief soundly rejected by the historic, biblical faith. While we are called to love and pray for people of all backgrounds, it is not loving to pretend that truth is optional or that salvation can be found apart from Jesus Christ.
The Theology of Worship Matters
Worship is not meant to be a sentimental singalong. It is sacred space where we declare the truth of who God is, remember what He has done, and realign our hearts with His will. When worship is grounded in Scripture, it shapes our theology, renews our minds, and strengthens our faith. But when worship becomes theologically shallow or worse–contrary to God’s Word–it leads people away from truth under the guise of spiritual experience.
This is not a matter of musical taste. It’s not about hymns vs. choruses or organs vs. electric guitars. It’s about content. A song that says “God bless the atheist” in the same breath as “God bless the Christian” is not offering a prayer–it’s erasing the reality of sin, repentance, and the gospel. And to sing “We’ve got no idea what we’re doing” as a refrain of supposed unity is to confess not humility, but surrender–to the spirit of the age rather than the Spirit of God.
The Progressive Gospel Isn’t the Gospel
The kind of worship that’s emerging from progressive churches like The Well is not merely “different.” It’s dangerous. It offers a gospel without repentance, a kingdom without a King, and a worship that centers on human experience instead of divine revelation. It places feelings above faith, inclusion above instruction, and doubt above discipleship.
Ironically, the only truthful line in the entire song may be its title. “We’ve got no idea what we’re doing” is exactly what happens when churches abandon Scripture as their authority and trade theological literacy for emotional expression. It’s the tragic theme song of a movement that wants the warmth of worship without the fire of truth.
But friends, we are not a people left in the dark. We are not wandering without a map. “Your Word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path” (Psalm 119:105). God has not left us guessing. He has spoken. He has come. And He is worthy of worship that reflects the fullness of His truth and glory.
A Call to Clarity in Worship
As worship leaders, songwriters, and pastors, we must be vigilant. Theology matters. Lyrics shape belief. Our songs should echo Scripture, not contradict it. They should lead us to the cross, not away from it. We must resist the temptation to trade clarity for cultural acceptance and be willing to speak–and sing–the truth in love.
Let this be a wake-up call to the Church. Worship is not the place to “figure it out” or blend belief systems. It’s the place to proclaim the God who has already revealed Himself. And as for those singing songs of confusion? The most truthful lyric may be the most tragic: “We’ve got no idea what we’re doing.”
Let’s write and sing songs that show we do.
