“Therefore thou shalt love the Lord thy God, and keep his charge, and his statutes, and his judgments, and his commandments, always.”

Deuteronomy 11:1 — King James Version

The law is not dead and gone. Irrelevant. Christ said;

Christ Came to Fulfill the Law

“Do not think that I have come to abolish the Law or the Prophets; I have not come to abolish them but to fulfill them. For truly, I say to you, until heaven and earth pass away, not an iota, not a dot, will pass from the Law until all is accomplished. Therefore whoever relaxes one of the least of these commandments and teaches others to do the same will be called least in the kingdom of heaven, but whoever does them and teaches them will be called great in the kingdom of heaven. For I tell you, unless your righteousness exceeds that of the scribes and Pharisees, you will never enter the kingdom of heaven.”

Matthew 5:17-20 — English Standard Version

This does not mean our outward appearance, what we imagine and maintain as do’s and don’ts, our thinking our works, our deeds, our attempt to “live a good life” and “be nice to people,” and contribute to charities and imagine our efforts, our WORKS grant us salvation and eternal life. Works without faith and true godliness are dead. Amount to nothing. And will not gain one the favor of God.

Legalism is death. Spiritual death.

Nor does the coming, teachings, life, death, and resurrection of Jesus Christ the Lord entitle those who believe in Him to misunderstand the “liberty” and “freedom” that the apostle Paul and others write of in the Word of God.

For Christ is the end of the law for righteousness to everyone who believes.

Romans 10:4 — English Standard Version

Pray for spiritual understanding and discernment of what the end of the law as written above, as to what the “liberty,” and “freedom,” written of in the Word of God for those who profess their faith in the Lord Jesus Christ TRULY means.

It does not mean liberalism. That a person has the freedom to do whatever they desire. To live however they desire. To say, think, act in any way they desire imagining themselves saved and have their ticket to heaven punched and that they will experience eternal life.

Woe to any who believe that or have taken that course leading to the second death!

Come to know and understand the meanings, the content within the Word of God for all who profess to truly believe to truly live. To truly speak. To truly act.

Not in a rules centered manner of doing this and do that and you’re okay, you’re in.

Nor in the other end of the swing of the pendulum in liberalism and anything goes.

When abiding in, when living with the Holy Spirit of God within and truly loving the Lord our God? Truly loving the Lord Jesus Christ? Truly being a disciple who takes up their cross daily and is separate from the world? A peculiar people? Not ashamed of the gospel of the Lord Jesus Christ?

There is a joy, a flowing river of pureness within to please the Lord. To obey. To not sin. To keep His commandments and statutes. To honor, praise, and glorify God our Father and Jesus Christ the Lord DAILY and always above all other things.

Above all other things.

Every single day.

As this world grows darker and most lost and evil we are to grow closer to the Lord, greater in our knowledge and understanding of His Word — and none of us are so wonderful, so brilliant, so smart, so studied that none of us can go without DAILY prayer and meditation — THINKING, DEEP TIME TAKING THINKING — upon our constant, daily reading of the WHOLE WORD OF GOD!.

Not liberalism nor legalism.

And it takes daily awareness, daily thinking, daily vigilant exercise to refrain from either seeping in and replacing how we ought to read, study, come to know and believe and thus live according to the inerrant Word of God.
