There is good news. Just not in the article below. From every considered reliable source the data reveals the collapse of Christianity in America. As well as in the United Kingdom and all Western nations. From the most recent in-depth survey conducted by the George Barna Group within Arizona Christian University, only 6% of Americans have a Biblical worldview.

In the article below you’ll read how only 6% of those in the U.K. identify as practicing Christians.

The large churches have steadily been losing members and attendees. Every major established denomination has rapidly been losing membership. Churches are closing. As memberships fall, more Protestant churches shuttering than opening.

Smaller churches and Bible-teaching sound doctrine churches have seen an increase in attendees and membership. But it pales in comparison to the decline in church attendance and those declaring themselves Christians in America, and throughout Western nations.

There is good news, just not in the article below.

This ought not to discourage and cause anxiety, doubt, or fear within you true believing, transformed and renewed of mind and spirit by the power of God, Christian. No, the reality is, the truth is this news while sounding bad at the outset ought to enervate each true Christian. Energize and reveal to each individual true Christian of sound doctrine and the knowledge of the will of God, which is found in the Word of God, and living accordingly to not merely attend a church on Sunday and then in the next six days appear to the world, friends, relatives, co-workers, neighbors, and complete strangers no different than the billions walking about in darkness, being darkness, dead within themselves.

No, there is GOOD NEWS, and that GOOD NEWS is the Lord Jesus Christ and what He, God our Father, and the Holy Spirit have done and continues to do within individuals who truly believe and obey and take up their cross and follow the Lord Jesus Christ. Having at least the beginning of spiritual understanding and wisdom whereby to grow.

To spread the GOOD NEWS of the gospel. THEE most important news and information the world has ever received, THEE biggest and most important event in world history — the coming of God to earth taking the humble form of man, being truly fully God while also being truly fully man. Living among us. Fulfilling Scripture. The Messiah. Dying on a tree, blameless, sinless was He, while sacrificing Himself and dying for you and for me so we can no longer receive God’s wrath and condemnation being the sinners we are, and receiving the free gift of grace, forgiveness, the promise of eternal life with God, with our Lord and Saviour, our Friend, our Healer, our King — the Lord Jesus Christ, and with the Holy Spirit — and the eternal Word of God.

We each have a mission given to us. As the wee little instruments we are. We may be no-names, never famous to the world, we may only have one gift given us by God — each true disciple of the Lord Jesus Christ, child of God has at least one gift given them — we may think ourselves weak and of no consequence — but this faith that fewer and fewer are holding to and continue to grow in as we do not leave the Bible, we do not leave pray, we do not leave God and Christ thinking there is another way, a better way, our own way — but each of us ought to be a light unto the world. Even one individual light unto the world, where by how we live those that come in contact with us see a difference. They see the heavenly Father in us, and they can then have the opportunity to glorify Him. And glorify the Son.

There is GOOD NEWS…just not in the article below…it is within each of us. May we be the good news not fearing the events of the day. Having a firm foundation in Biblical understanding and viewing everything that happens — everything that happens — with a Biblical view, a Biblical perspective, Biblical eyes, heart and mind.

Far too often, far too many have said I’m cynical. Bleak. Depressing. Consumed by world events and that I dwell on negativity. Anyone who has come to this conclusion about me does not know me, nor do they or have they attempted to understand what it is that is being done here.

This place is not to spread doom and gloom. Fear. Doubt. Anxiety. To depress. To make one feel dirty and in need of a shower. No, but to reveal the dire need now in these last of the last days for all true disciples of the Lord Jesus Christ, all true children of God to strengthen themselves. No longer coasting. No longer waiting for someone else to speak up, be the light, direct you. No longer being invisible or idle. But to sow good seed. Even in the knowledge a lot of it will fall on rocks, on thin terrible soil, in thistles and weeds and the seed will appear wasted. But until and unless we become individual believing sowers of the seed of the GOOD NEWS of the Lord Jesus Christ and speak and write of how He is THEE most important news story in world history, and world history is rapidly winding down — we won’t be sowing good seed onto good ground to take root and grow and bear fruit and in kind spread the good news of the gospel, which is the Lord Jesus Christ.

True Christian revival begins within individuals. Not in a big tent full of people. Not in a large auditorium filled with people. True Christian revival begins in an individual heart, an individual mind, and an individual spirit and sows the seed of the gospel of Christ, sows the GOOD NEWS of the Scriptures to others.

No matter what may be in the news, confronting us, or happening all around us.

No matter what may be happening to churches, denominations, and the reported state of Christianity in America, and in Western nations.

God is always at work. Always at work. Always good, righteous work. And God needs and uses good believing laborours.

And he said to them, “The harvest is plentiful, but the laborers are few. Therefore pray earnestly to the Lord of the harvest to send out laborers into his harvest.”

Luke 10:2 — English Standard Version

Don’t wait. Do.

For we ought to go to everyone and tell them of the marvelous, wondrous work done within us by the Lord, by the Holy Spirit, and how eternity is very real, every word within God’s Word is true, and there isn’t time to waste. Spreading the GOOD NEWS…which is the Lord Jesus Christ.

So, no matter what terrible earthly news occurs by the doings of man there is no need to fear, no need to be filled with anxiety, to be depressed, overcome, or to feel dirty and in need of a shower. The truth, the reality of the wickedness of men and women is not being cynical, depressing, or consumed in negativity. To the contrary — it ought to shine an even greater light on the Light, the Way, the Truth, and the Life, the Lord Jesus Christ and the Word of God making it all the easier to spread the GOOD NEWS in all this darkness and wickedness that is consuming sinful, lost men and women.

The U.K. Evangelical Alliance (EAUK), Alpha, HOPE Together, Luis Palau Association and Kingsgate Community Church have released the Talking Jesus report.

It “answers what people think of Jesus; how non-Christians view any practising Christian friends they might have; and the evangelism landscape in the United Kingdom today”, say its authors.

Furthermore, a part of the report “also shows how practising Christians come to faith and will help church leaders to be strategic for growth”.

The research was completed by Savanta ComRes, which conducted one 10-minute online interviews among about 4,000 U.K. adults between 28th January and 13th February 2022, with some supplementary fieldwork taking place between 28th March and 5th April.

They divided the respondents into two samples. One was designed to be nationally representative of the U.K. (3,115 people). The other were 917 practising Christians. “Following fieldwork, these two samples were combined into a single combined dataset”, they explained.

“There has never been a better time to invest in making Jesus known”

According to Rachel Jordan-Wolf, Executive Director at HOPE Together, “this research, that was first done in 2015, enables us to look over 7 years and see trends that will help us strategically with church growth”.

“It has significant things to say about the church’s investment in the younger generations, gives us real hope for the future of the Church and encouragement that now is the moment for evangelism and mission. It reaffirms that, post-pandemicthere has never been a better time, or more need, for us as Christians to invest in making Jesus known”, she added.

Rachael Heffer, Head of Mission at the Evangelical Alliance United Kingdom, stressed that “the report presents good news both for the church across the U.K. and for us as individual Christian witnesses. It goes to reaffirm that our non-Christian friends think well of us and like us, that there is an ever-greater openness to hear our stories of faith”.

Jesus and His resurrection

The report shows that only 6% of adults in the U.K. identify as practising Christians, while 42% say they are non-practising Christians. It also found that 4% identify as agnostics, and 12% as atheists.

6% of UK adults identify as practising Christians

It also says that 20% of the U.K. population believe that Jesus is the Son of God, and the majority (33%) sees him as a as a prophet or spiritual leader, but not God. Moreover, 45% of the respondents believe in his resurrection.

Non-Christians want to know more about Jesus after a conversation with a Christian

According to the report, while in 2015, 68% of non-Christians in the U.K. said they knew someone who was an active Christian, in 2022, that has fallen to 53%.

“It’s a significant drop and a little bit of a warning. As churches we need to look out and as individuals, we need to make sure that we have got some great life-giving friendships with people who don’t yet know Jesus”, pointed out Jordan-Wolf.

Among the non-Christians respondents, 33% want to know more about Jesus Christ after a conversation with a Christian. “That is so encouraging, it is gone up. In 2015, it was one in five”, said the Executive Director at HOPE Together.

“I wonder if the pandemic and a slightly more wobbly world when people do not know what is happening, has actually made people more interested in faith, but it makes this an even more important moment for us to talk about our faith”, concluded Jordan-Wolf.

Talking Jesus course

In addition to the report, the Talking Jesus website offers “a course to train Christians to share their faith through six-video sessions and a coursebook”.

“One of the key facts we found in the 2015 research was that conversations with Christians are one of the most important influences in bringing people to faith. And we discovered that Christians are not always confident in putting their faith into words so that the course was created to inspire Christians to share their faith naturally and relevantly” explain the authors.
