Israel In The Tribulation

As Chuck Missler often said, “If you want to know where we are on God’s world time clock, watch Israel.” Indeed! Israel is the main thing for Christians to fully understand throughout the Bible.
For thus says the LORD of hosts, “After glory He has sent Me against the nations which plunder you, for he who touches you, touches the apple of His eye.” Zech. 2:8
the LORD your God has chosen you [Israel] to be a people for His own possession out of all the peoples who are on the face of the earth. Deut. 7:6
Also, as Believers, we’re actually grafted into God’s promises to the Jews.
But if some of the branches were broken off, and you, being a wild olive, were grafted in among them and became partaker with them of the rich root of the olive tree, Rom. 11:17
In Galatians 4:5,6, God says we’re adopted into the Jewish race and qualify as heirs to their inheritance. Cool. Yet many Believers shy away from that fact that God’s world revolves around the Jews. And we’re getting into heaven on their coattails.
Or is God the God of Jews only? Is He not the God of Gentiles also? Yes, of Gentiles also, Rom. 3:29
Bottom line, it’s all about Israel. If you don’t like that, take it up with God.
So here we are living at the end of the Church Age dispensation, probably down to less than 10 years at most. When it ends with the Rapture, God will then turn His attention back to Israel. He’ll start with 7 years of an unfinished prophecy.
Daniel 9:24-27 prophesied a 490-year timeline for Israel that began on March 4, 444 BC with Nehemiah’s commandment to rebuild Jerusalem (Neh. 2:1-8).
But Israel’s clock stopped after 483 of the 490 years when the Jews murdered their Messiah on the cross. As prophesied, the Jews were then scattered around the world for 2000 years.
Come, let us return to the LORD. For He has torn us, but He will heal us; He has wounded us, but He will bandage us. He will revive us after two days; [2000 years] He will raise us up on the third day, [1000 years] that we may live before Him. Hos. 6:2
While Israel was scattered around the world, God sent His Holy Spirit to the world to permanently indwell Believers…marking the beginning of the Church Age.
The Church Age will end when His Spirit departs at the Rapture. Since Believers are permanently indwelled, when He goes, we go with Him.
The remaining 7 years assigned to Israel, pushed 2000 years into the future, will begin again once the Rapture whisks all Born-Again Believers away to escape the coming Wrath of God.
The Hosea 6:2 verse above is a great dispensational example showing Israel is “revived after two days.” So you have Israel, followed by the Church, followed by Israel again.
By “revived,” God is referring to His beloved Israel entering into the 1000-year Millennial Reign of the Jewish Messiah that follows the Tribulation.
There is a huge question we can’t answer: Whether or not the 7-Year Tribulation is deducted from the 2000 total years of the Church Age or comes after the Church Age.
We know that Jesus “reigns” for “1000 years” so that number is untouchable. And there are challenges if you try to subtract 7 years within the 2-day/2000-year Church Age.
It appears the only way Rapture could take place this September 2025 is if the two-day Church Age is 1993 years in duration followed by the 7 years of God’s divine worldwide wrath.
A 1993-year Church Age is certainly possible, so we look forward to Rosh Hashanah this September. But it’s also possible we’re entering into a new phase with President Trump. As we saw last week, if the Rapture doesn’t happen this year, this could be the beginning of 7 years of plenty.
We just won’t know until it happens. If God wanted us to know more, we would know more.
However, regardless of what date the Tribulation begins, it follows the Church Age, lasts 7 years, and sets up Jesus’ 2nd Coming followed by His Millennial Reign.
Once God brings the Church Age to an end with the Believers’ “Great Whoosh,” Israel will return as His main world emphasis.
I will magnify Myself, sanctify Myself, and make Myself known in the sight of many nations; and they will know that I am the LORD. Ezek. 38:23
The nations will know that the house of Israel went into exile for their iniquity because they acted treacherously against Me. Ezek. 39:23
Just after our screamingly exciting denture-separating departure, there will be a quite chaotic time, probably 50 days, before the Daniel 9 peace treaty is signed.
I think it’s 50 days because there were 50 days between the cross and the coming of the Holy Spirit(1). God is usually balanced.
During those 50 days after our disappearing act, the world will be brought to its knees. With their only ally, the United States, decimated in one hour immediately after the Rapture(6), Israel is left alone in the world without an ally.
Feeling backed into a corner, Israel takes the offensive. With her powerful military, she begins wiping out her close-by enemies.
In that day I will make the clans of Judah like a firepot among pieces of wood and a flaming torch among sheaves, so they will consume on the right hand and on the left all the surrounding peoples, while the inhabitants of Jerusalem again dwell on their own sites in Jerusalem. Zech. 12:6
Currently, Lebanon, Syria, Jordan and Egypt touch Israel’s borders. But Jordan seems to get a pass on being destroyed:
He [New World Leader] will also enter the Beautiful Land, and many countries will fall; but these will be rescued out of his hand: Edom, Moab and the foremost of the sons of Ammon. Dan. 11:41
This pass from destruction is probably due to Petra being located in Jordan, where the Jews will be protected in the wilderness for the last 3 1/2 years of the Tribulation.
So just after the Rapture Israel is totally dominating the Middle East as she wipes out nation after nation. Due to a mighty army, no nation can stop her destruction of her enemies. Talk about a burdensome stone!
During this 50-day period, one man bursts to the forefront and becomes the architect of a 10-nation peace treaty. This man will be the New World Leader for the first 3 1/2 years of God’s Wrath.
(In the 2nd half of the Tribulation he is referred to as the Antichrist.)
Before the Rapture we won’t know who this man is. Paul says the Rapture happens… THEN the New World Leader is revealed.
Let no one in any way deceive you, for it will not come unless the apostasy [Rapture(3)] comes first, and the man of lawlessness is revealed, 2Th. 2:3a
The 10-nation peace treaty promises Israel will be guaranteed protection from invasion for 7 years in exchange for Israel halting her methodical destruction of her enemies.
Israel, negotiating from a strength position, gets back control over the Temple Mount so she can rebuild her Temple and go back to animal sacrifices.
We know they go back to animal sacrifices because halfway into the 7-year peace treaty is what’s called the abomination of desolation of the Holy Temple. Daniel says they STOP the sacrifices.
Forces from him will arise, desecrate the sanctuary fortress, and do away with the regular sacrifice. And they will set up the abomination of desolation. Dan. 11:31
We know the Jewish Temple is rebuilt because the two witnesses, John and Elijah(4), lay out where the Temple should be built on the Temple Mount.
Then there was given me [John(4)] a measuring rod like a staff; and someone said, “Get up and measure the temple of God and the altar, and those who worship in it. Leave out the court which is outside the temple and do not measure it, for it has been given to the nations; and they will tread under foot the holy city for forty-two months.” Rev. 11:1-2
The Dome of the Rock is not built over the original Jewish Temple foundation. Rather, it’s built over a sanctuary to Jupiter that was built in 135 A.D.
Ancient Hebrew writings say the Jewish Temple was directly in front of the Eastern Gate (see drawing). So this means the Dome of the Rock is built to the South of the original Temple area. It also means the Jewish Temple location is open to rebuild without messing with the Dome of the Rock.
In the diagram above, the green circle is where the Dome of the Rock is located and the pink circle is where the Jewish Temple will be rebuilt.
Because Rev. 11:2 says the outer courts are given to the nations, I added a third blue circle for a place to build a Christian church, probably run by left-behind Catholics.
Solomon’s Hidden Temple Treasures
By the middle of the first 3 1/2 years of Tribulation, Israel will have already unearthed her vast gold and silver Temple Treasures hidden by the Prophet Jeremiah. They are conservatively estimated to be worth some $150 trillion — and climbing by the month.(5)
The list of these treasures was found buried near Qumran along with other Dead Sea Scrolls. But rather than ink on animal skin, it was permanently engraved via hammer and punch tool on a copper scroll.
All the other Dead Sea Scrolls were written on kosher animal skins. So whoever made this list wanted it to last a long time… until the latter days.(5)
Teams of archeologists are today excavating potential areas where the Temple artifacts might be found. And they will be found. We know this because surrounding nations quiz those invading Israel in the Ezekiel 38/39 war asking if they are going after the silver and gold treasure.
Have you come to capture spoil? Have you assembled your company to seize plunder, to carry away silver and gold, to take away cattle and goods, to capture great spoil? Ezek. 38:13:b
Well, yes, Russia, Iran, Turkey and others ARE coming after the gold and silver in a massive attack, but they lose badly.(7)
