Every days night

every nights day

warring

away

tearing ways

day by day

warring

off

on

to a warring

am I

when it is I

I, me, my, mine

rather than

looking

living

being

in the

Spirit

Thee, Thine will be done

under the sun

in dark of night

cloudy days

every day ought be

glory, glory, glory to Thee

Jesus Christ Lord and Saviour!

Each day I wage within the constant war

flesh so weak

willing choice to lean to sin

refuse to conquer

refuse to win

when I permit

the Evil One’s

whispers in

only to then see him

grin the decaying grin

of slavery

I can see the chains of bondage in his dead jealous eyes

when I fail to place all my trust

faith

within the Lord

bravely

knowing I know

I know

what to do rightly

yet what I do

all wrong

rather than right

every day

every night

constant

spiritual warfare

flesh vs. spirit

spirit vs. flesh

fiery darts

darting

hitting when from the Word of God

departing

No saint

escapes being sinner

no one

saves so much as a hair upon their head

let alone their eternal spirits, souls

sinners all

do not devise delusional dialogue

within

allowing the cunning

lying voice

of the Evil One

to convince

weave his lies into some deceptive belief

I’m not as bad as

him, her, them

so many so much worse

so greater sinner than me

O, heaven forbid!

Get far behind me Satan in the name of Jesus Christ the Lord!

For I have sinned more oh so much more

no one but Christ and His love

His grace

would open a door

to the sinful likes of me!

No saint was never sinner

no saint does not suffer

trials

tests

doubts

confrontations

distractions

DAILY

mudslides from the storms of life attempting

to flood

muddy

carry us away

from

the pure life-giving water

spoil the bread of life

Nay, let this never be!

Keep the eyes on Thee

my Lord

keep my ears on Thy living Word

not merely hearing

doing

keep my heart pure in Thy ways

all my days

every day

the battle wages

rages

turning of the pages

victory, O, victory only comes

in Thee

through Thee

by Thee

with Thee

O, why won’t the lost in darkness see

Thy light shining in every turn!

Because they remain listening to

snared

enslaved

in self

thinking oneself so free

yet about as free as a fly trapped in amber

serving

this world

its lies

delusions

he who has their heart in his snare

telling them they don’t dare leave his grasp

his beguiling lying seductive tongue

more venomous

deadly than

the most venomous asp!

I know, because

I spent far too long in his grasp

before turning to

the Way

the Truth

the Light

the Life

the Life-Giving Water

and Bread of Life

to never thirst nor hunger again!

Jesus Christ the Lord!

Every day

thanksgiving never enough

every day

every night

meditating upon Thy Word

keeping full armour on

polished

maintained

prepared

oiled and clean

pure

purity of heart

purity of mind

living in Thy Word

prayerfully

faithfully

victory only comes in complete trust

in Thee

defeating sin

forgiving sin

forgetting sin

as only God, Christ can do

for at every turn

the next bend

next step

the enemy waits, lurks

smirks

knowing the flesh

our flesh is at war

with the spirit

and he believes if we will only allow him near it

near our flesh

placing his vile filthy hand over the ears of our spirit

to whisper his honey-dripping beguiling lies

we might leave the path whereby we hold

the Word of God as a lamp to our feet our way

and fall

going back his way!

Every day

the war rages

wages

the Evil One attempts to defeat us

Nay, let this never be!

Do not ever attempt to fight him alone, one on one

always

always

always

no matter where we might find ourselves

in sufferings

depths

trials

tribulations

or jubilation as known by the world

let us not be seduced

led astray

any day

turn to the Son

Who all our earthly struggles for us has won

if we but believe

if we but trust

if we but follow

if we but obey!

Repent

repentant heart

pure heart

loving heart

yearning heart for the Lord

brings light to life

life to light

whether

day or night

The Word of God

not only brings light into darkness

life from out of death

faithfulness

obedience

living the Word

crushes

causes

sin to shirk away

every way

every night

every day
