They drink sand

attempting

to

quench insatiable thirsts

driven

mad

consumed

gagging

gasping

inhaling

the dust and death

of worldly tries

worldly lies

A Psalm of David,

when he was in the wilderness of Judah.

O God,

thou art my God;

early will I seek thee:

my soul thirsteth for thee,

my flesh longeth for thee in a dry and thirsty land,

where no water is;

As the deer pants for streams of water,

so my soul pants for you, my God.

My soul thirsts for God, for the living God.

When can I go and meet with God?

I

stretch forth my hands unto thee:

my soul thirsteth after thee,

as a thirsty land.

Selah.

They drink sand

daily

perpetually

foolishly

vainly

imagining the dust of death

the dryness of bones

the parched

empty

cracked lips

dripping with a mirage of honey

shrunken minds

in clouds of delusion

cold hearts

merely passing diseased blood along

dead eyes

sing a droning monotonous death song

words and ways of man

will lead them to

their oasis

a lie

(they always only listen to the father of lies, you know)

their Nirvana

a lie

their Utopia

a lie

their Paradise

yet another, more lies

lost

Behold, the days come,

saith the Lord GOD,

that I

will send a famine in the land,

not a famine of bread,

nor a thirst for water,

but of hearing the words of the LORD:

And

they

shall

wander

from sea to sea,

and

from the north even to the east,

they shall run to and fro

to seek the word of the LORD,

and shall not find it.

In that day

shall the fair virgins

and

young men faint for thirst.

O,

utterly lost

words and ways of man

will lead them to

where

they

belong

whilst those believing

faithful

obedient

are quenched

immersed

refreshed

in the word

ways

instruction

of the LORD

For

I

will

pour water upon him that is thirsty,

and floods upon the dry ground:

I will pour my spirit upon thy seed,

and

my blessing

upon thine offspring:

They

shall not hunger

nor thirst;

neither shall the heat nor sun smite them:

for

he

that hath mercy on them shall lead them,

even

by

the springs of water shall he guide them.

Drinking sand

rather than Life-Giving Waters

laughing giddy as one possessed

of demons

tearing at the fabric

of truth

renting the lies they wear

which makes them itch

twitch

stich by stich

in time

rebelling

ranting, raving, cursing, screaming, babbling

yelling

whispering into each others ears

smelling of putrid decaying death

given over to reprobate minds

forsaking any and all that is

the

rightness of God

they drink their broken goblets of sand

laughing

choking

on words

actions

deeds

ways of man

they

imagine

going their own way

yet

they

are the ways of the seductive

beguiling

wily devil they follow

are enslaved to

on their

way

to hell

where hot Saharan

Great Victoria

Arabian

Syrian

Kalahari sands

would feel refreshing

in eternal comparison

unlike

the truly believing

whom

They

shall hunger no more,

neither thirst any more;

neither shall the sun light on them,

nor any heat.

For the Lamb which is in the midst

of the throne

shall feed them,

and

shall lead them unto living fountains of waters:

and

God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes.

And he said unto me,

It is done.

I am

Alpha and Omega,

the beginning and the end.

I will give unto him that is athirst of the fountain of the water of life freely.

And the Spirit and the bride say,

Come.

And let him that heareth say,

Come.

And let him that is athirst come.

And whosoever will, let him take the water of life freely.

Blessed

are they

which do hunger and thirst after righteousness:

for they shall be filled.

There cometh a woman

of Samaria

to draw water:

Jesus saith unto her, “Give me to drink.”

Then saith the woman of Samaria unto him,

“How is it that thou, being a Jew, askest drink of me, which am a woman of Samaria?”

Jesus answered and said unto her,

“If thou knewest the gift of God,

and

who it is that saith to thee,

‘Give me to drink;’

thou wouldest have asked of him,

and

he would have given thee living water.”

The woman saith unto him,

“Sir, thou hast nothing to draw with,

and the well is deep:

from whence then hast thou that living water?

Art thou greater than our father Jacob,

which gave us the well,

and drank thereof himself,

and his children, and his cattle?”

Jesus answered

and said unto her,

“Whosoever

drinketh of this water

shall thirst again:

But

whosoever drinketh of the water that I shall give him shall never thirst;

but

the water that I shall give him

shall be in him

a well of water springing up into everlasting life.

If any man thirst,

let him come unto me,

and drink.

He that believeth on me,

as the scripture hath said,

out of his belly shall flow rivers of living water.

(But

this spake he of the Spirit,

which they that believe on him should receive:

for the Holy Ghost was not yet given;

because that Jesus was not yet glorified.)

They

determine

to

drink sand

reprobate minds never kind to their eternal spirits

souls sold into the depths of slavery

sin

darkness

darkness

darkness

rather than

The Way

The Truth

The Light

The Life-Giving Waters

drinking of

Jesus Christ

God Almighty

Holy Spirit

Holy Word

their dried

hollow bones

spirits serving Satan

“Surely you will not die, but then all I have always done is lie, lie, lie!”

flesh eaten away

to the One True God

death

lies

dry

dark

always circling round them

souls

withered

spirits enslaved

entombed in the gelatin of perpetual lies

dead in the eye

deaf in the ear

hard of heart

so cold they burn

blind leading the blind

listening always

to their own kind

ever

always thirsting

never satiated

never resting

never healed

never repenting

refusing to admit their sins

they drink sand in the depths of hell

for their eternity

for refusing

the Son

denying He is The One

rebelling

disobeying

the Only One

the Only Way

to the Father

eternal life

this truth

cuts through

their blistered

boiled

parched souls

dry tongues

stinking breath

like a hot knife

they

will

always

be

as

There

was a certain rich man,

which was clothed in purple and fine linen,

and fared sumptuously every day:

And

there was a certain beggar

named Lazarus,

which was laid at his gate, full of sores,

And desiring to be fed with the crumbs which fell from the rich man’s table:

moreover

the dogs came and licked his sores.

And it came to pass,

that the beggar died,

and was carried by the angels into Abraham’s bosom:

the rich man also died, and was buried;

And

in hell he lift up his eyes,

being in torments,

and seeth Abraham afar off, and Lazarus in his bosom.

And he cried and said,

“Father Abraham, have mercy on me, and send Lazarus,

that he may dip the tip of his finger in water,

and cool my tongue;

for I am tormented in this flame.”

But Abraham said,

“Son,

remember that thou in thy lifetime receivedst thy good things,

and likewise

Lazarus evil things:

but now he is comforted,

and thou art tormented.

And

beside all this,

between us and you there is a great gulf fixed:

so that they which would pass

from hence

to you cannot;

neither can they pass to us,

that would come from thence.”

Then he said,

“I pray thee therefore, father, that thou wouldest send him to my father’s house:

For I have five brethren; that he may testify unto them,

lest they also come into this place of torment.”

Abraham saith unto him,

“They have Moses and the prophets;

let them hear them.”

And he said,

“Nay, father Abraham:

but if one went unto them from the dead, they will repent.”

And he said unto him,

“If they hear not Moses and the prophets,

neither will they be persuaded,

though one rose from the dead.”

They drink sand

toasting to their eternal death

will you

do you

join them

as the rich man

lifting a broken glass of sand

to your thirsting

dry lips

to sip of this death?

Or

will you drink of the

Life-Giving Waters

only

Jesus Christ the Lord

affords?

Will you heed the voice of The One

persuaded by the truth

life

death

resurrection

of

One

Risen from the dead

living at the right hand

of

the Throne of God

He

who

suffered death

though no sin in Him

blameless

unlike

every man

every woman

to be the Sacrificial Lamb

salvation

for every sinner

who repents

obeys

turns to

bows humbly

believes upon

serves Him

rather than the sands of this world

thirst quenched

Life-giving Waters

drinking sand

never more?
