darkness or Light
by Ken Pullen
Scripture used appears in Italics and is from the English Standard Version or King James Version (Aramaic Bible in Plain English used on occasion — Holy Scripture verses used are listed at end of the poem)
darkness or Light
on this fine day with breath bestowed
to truly believing
to wavering weaving while walking
to those who do a lot of talking
For
ye
were
sometimes darkness
but now
are ye light in the Lord:
walk as children of light:
And
have
no fellowship with the unfruitful works of darkness
but
rather
reprove them
to the balking
to the stalking like sad peeping Tom’s & Rose Marie’s
to those professing
yet
in truth
no truth within
no transformation
so distressing
for they truly do not see
This is the message
we have heard
from Him
and proclaim to you
that God is light and in Him is no darkness at all
If we say we have fellowship with Him
while we walk in darkness
we lie
and do not practice the truth
But
if we walk in the light, as He is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and
the blood of Jesus his Son
cleanses us from all sin
If
we say
we have no sin
we deceive ourselves
and the truth
is not in us.
If we
confess our sins, He is faithful
and just
to forgive us our sins
and to cleanse us
from all unrighteousness
If we say
we have not sinned
we
make
Him
a
liar
and
His
word is not in us
to the unbelieving
pagan
heathen
vile
sinner (yes, aren’t we all! That’s the whole point, get it? Or not?)
to the denier
tooth gnashing possessed deeply of evil
biting scratching slashing
bashing
refusing to leave the cold darkness habitat faithless ones
to one
to all
it’s either
darkness or Light
darkness or Light
Light or darkness
and nothing else in sight
either blind in darkness
elsewise, elsewhere others say
For
it
is you
who
light my lamp; the LORD my God lightens my darkness
He
has delivered us from the domain of darkness
and
transferred
us
to the kingdom of his beloved Son
For you are all children of light
children of the day
We
are
not
of the night
or
of the darkness
beating heart by His will within each breast
all choosing
free will thy own
walk which way
talk which way
His way
Thy word is a lamp unto my feet, and a light unto my path
The
unfolding
of your words gives light;
it
imparts understanding to the simple.
or
his way
Because
your fight has not been with flesh and blood,
but
with
Principalities and The Rulers
and The Powers of this dark world
and
with
wicked spirits
which
are under Heaven
Be sober-minded and alert
Your adversary
the devil prowls around like a roaring lion
seeking
someone
to devour
One way
or
the other
we each walk
talk (far too much)
do we talk the walk
walk which way
But be doers of the word
and
not
hearers only
deceiving yourselves
His way
But be doers of the word
and not hearers only deceiving yourselves
darkness or Light
darkness or Light
Light or darkness
woe to any who do not chose right
each gone every go all ways day upon day
or
his way
Because
your fight has not been with flesh and blood,
but
with
Principalities and The Rulers
and The Powers of this dark world
and
with
wicked spirits
which
are under Heaven
enslaved
bound to the darkness?
darkness or Light
darkness or Light
Light or darkness
each within every reach
living insight
with sight
knowing through the Spirit
with the Word instilled
what is right in His sight
or blinded by the whirling vortex of darkest dark
They know not,
neither will they understand;
they
walk on
in darkness:
all the foundations of the earth are out of course.
darkness or Light
woe
to
each
strident in darkness, lost thinking they will find
The light shines in the darkness
and
the darkness has not overcome it
And the light shineth in darkness;
and
the darkness comprehended it not
And The Light is shining in the darkness,
and
the darkness did not overtake it
O, grace, mercy of He who knitted each soul and flesh
humbled in the Light, finding what never imagined not
no gray exists
within
without
thereabout
through day or night
there is no shading, fading nor middle ground
changing
rearranging to suit what fits
among all the masses in such utter fits
thinking each knows best
never satiated
always seeking
reeking
from the stench of their sweating effort for peace
(can’t you smell it all around? A seeping oozing sucking smelly sound! Gets so annoying does it not?)
finding none, peace, that is if confusing words here are found
from the stench of their stinking efforts for Paradise
missing it by an eternity
there
is
only what is unsound
or sound
“And this is the judgment:
the light has come into the world
and people loved the darkness rather than the light
because
their works
were
evil
For everyone who does wicked things hates the light
and does not come to the light
lest his works
should
be
exposed
But
whoever does what is true comes to the light
so that
it may be clearly seen
that his works
have been
carried out in God.”
what is owed
what is paid
what is best or all the rest
what is right in the Lord’s sight
or chosen by your own might (you may think) walking in such weakness
truly in bondage to that father of lies
For although they knew God
they did not honor him as God
or give thanks to Him
but they became futile in their thinking
and
their
foolish hearts
were
darkened
all choose either darkness or Light
no other
no other
no other
than
darkness or Light
“To
open
their
eyes
and to turn them from darkness to light
and from the power of Satan unto God
that
they
may receive forgiveness of sins
and inheritance among them
which are sanctified by faith
that is in me”
darkness or Light
one path leads directly to death (damnation though now so few want to utter it’s word)
other to life (eternal which so many doubt!)
Irony
pressing down hard
what is believed by most error
what is believed by few rightness!
O, “What a wonderful world” Satchmo sang
mostly right
for what the Lord has made with the Son was, is, always perfect
What a wonderful world They did make
it is we, man who made every mistake
acknowledge sin (thy own is more than enough to go around)
confess
repent
grow in the Spirit, in faith
BELIEVE!
Live BELIEF in each heart beat, breath!
Thus awakening then declare, “What a fine day the Lord has made!”
This
is
the day which the LORD hath made;
we will rejoice
and
be
glad
in
it
even in the rain
storms beating about
winds wailing
monsoon assailing
This
is
the day which the LORD hath made;
we will rejoice
and
be
glad
in
it
leaving no doubt
each day the Lord makes
is one fine day to be lived walking His righteous pathway
for I see the world, oh wonderful world
God our Father, with the Son
Creators
made for us
darkness or Light
Light or darkness
choose wisely
of the only two choices
either the sounds in heaven heard as the Lord and His angels rejoices
or wails and cries heard from hell
as yet another enslaved to the Evil One has fell
choosing unwisely
Woe
unto them
that call evil good
and good evil;
that put darkness for light
and light for darkness;
that put bitter for sweet
and sweet for bitter!
darkness or Light
freely taking day and night
all within sight
of Jehovah Tsidkenu
God Almighty
as well as he who has dominion of air and earth for a season
darkness or Light
Light or darkness
all the people of the world thinking things so complex
so many paths
so many choices
so many options
ways to go
O, no
fellow journeyers
only but two
two paths
two options
two choices
2 paths to take
all the muddy tumultuous noise truly clear
Therefore
be careful
lest
the
light
in you be darkness
for those willing to open a heart
renew a mind
hear a Word
TRANSFORM a life
eternally
no longer be among the multitudes of the blind
The night is far gone;
the day is at hand
So
then
let us cast off the works of darkness
and
put
on
the armor of light
darkness or Light
enter into the Light
or remain in utter darkness
no other
no other
no other
than
darkness or Light
Light or darkness
