Christianity Is Declining in America

Now we beseech you, brethren, by the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ, and by our gathering together unto him, That ye be not soon shaken in mind, or be troubled, neither by spirit, nor by word, nor by letter as from us, as that the day of Christ is at hand. Let no man deceive you by any means: for that day shall not come, except there come a falling away first, and that man of sin be revealed, the son of perdition; Who opposeth and exalteth himself above all that is called God, or that is worshipped; so that he as God sitteth in the temple of God, shewing himself that he is God.

2 Thessalonians 2:1-4

We are living in the time of;

“…that day shall not come, except there come a falling away first.”

There has been and is an ever increasing falling away.

“For certain people have crept in unnoticed who long ago were designated for this condemnation, ungodly people, who pervert the grace of our God into sensuality and deny our only Master and Lord, Jesus Christ.

Jude 1:4

Every fall begins from within. The Enemy within. And there has been an escalating era of “certain people that have crept in unnoticed who long ago were designated for this condemnation, ungodly people, who pervert the grace of our God into sensuality and deny our only Master and Lord, Jesus Christ…”

It is fine, good in fact to be vigilant and aware of all the external forces at war with God, the Lord Jesus Christ, the Holy Spirit, the Word of God and Christianity — but to not become consumed and focus on those things more than what has been and is taking place WITHIN.

The Enemy within. For certain people have crept in unnoticed.

And their numbers and their smooth, pleasing to the itching ears distorted, eroded, corrupted, perverted and unsound doctrines have been increasing at a rapid pace. So quickly as to devour. Unnoticed. Until it appears to be too late.

Like walking along the beautiful cliffs of England or Scotland peering out into the amazing sea…continuing to walk, mesmerized by the delightful sight…unto taking that one step too far and plummeting off the precipice.

There is only One True Triune God. The same yesterday, today, and forever. Unchangeable. Just as His Word is unchangeable.

Not written to be altered to fit the desired way — but to follow the Only Way.

Buckle up. Strap it on.

For there are tumultuous, dangerous, trying, terrible, turbulent sufferings and tribulations just ahead.

For the Great Falling Away is ever increasing and in a full freefall into the abyss.

Do not follow.

Except to diligently, obediently, and faithfully follow the Lord Jesus Christ.

To the end.

Christianity in historic decline: Only half of Americans say they’re confident God exists

Christianity is in a historic decline in the United States, according to new research data.

In a recently released report from the Public Religion Research Institute, 27% claimed no religion in 2022, which is up from 19% in 2012. The study also showed the number of people who identify as white evangelical Protestants has dropped from 23% to 14% since 2006, while white Catholics have declined from 16% to 13%.

Additional data from the General Social Survey by NORC, the research organization at the University of Chicago, found that only half of respondents say they are confident in the existence of God — a decline from more than 60% in 2008.

NORC data also showed church membership and attendance have declined for decades, now reaching the highest figure recorded in five decades.

Pew Research Center data also indicate that those who identify as Christian have declined from 90% of U.S. adults in the 1990s to roughly two-thirds currently, with a majority of the change coming from those raised in the church becoming dissociated as they have grown up.

“They’re not saying night prayers, morning prayers, taking their kids to church,” Thomas Groome, a theology and religious education professor at Boston College, said, according to a report. “Whatever religion we have going forward will be by persuasion and choice and not by inherited identity.”

Researchers are contending, however, that the statistics are not an indication that people are not spiritual. NORC data showed only 7% of people said they do not believe in God.

“Belief is very stubborn in America today,” Ryan Burge, a faith scholar and political scientist at Eastern Illinois University, said.

Groome also noted that while church attendance has long been the gauge for faith, it is not as reliable in the present culture.

“Assuming that church attendance is the measure of faith, that notion is becoming obsolete,” Groome said. “We’ve always used church attendance as the hallmark of the faith in our people, and I don’t think they’re synonymous.”

The NORC’s General Social Survey collected data between May and December of 2022 using a multi-mode design. The PRRI report surveyed 5,872 adults across all 50 states in the U.S. in August 2022, producing data with a margin of error of plus or minus 1.86 percentage points.
