Know what would be wonderful? If President Trump, rather than being obsessed with securing a Nobel Peace Prize and appeasing the world, the Saudis, the Qataris, the Arab/Islamic world, he would work towards securing Israel’s land as promised and laid out in the Holy Bible by God.
Now, that would be something…
Ahh, one day, eternally…it will be so.

Over 200 Evangelical leaders urge Trump to support Israel’s ‘sovereignty over the biblical heartland’

In a powerful display of faith-driven solidarity, over 200 Evangelical leaders have penned an open letter to President Donald Trump, calling on him to champion Israel’s right to sovereignty over Judea and Samaria—regions they describe as the “biblical heartland.”
The missive, delivered just ahead of Trump’s pivotal meeting with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, underscores a growing frustration among conservative Christians with international pressures that they view as undermining Israel’s God-given claim to the land.
The letter, titled Standing with the Biblical Heart of Israel, arrives amid heightened tensions. Recent recognitions of a Palestinian state by nations including the United Kingdom, Canada, Australia, and France have drawn sharp rebukes from Trump, who has condemned these moves as rewarding terrorism.
Netanyahu’s coalition, in response, has intensified calls for annexing parts of the West Bank—internationally known as such but biblically referred to by Evangelicals as Judea and Samaria, territories Israel has controlled since 1967.
At the heart of the Evangelical appeal is a blend of scriptural conviction and geopolitical realism. The signatories express deep alarm
over “voices—even among allies—who urge policies that would weaken Israel by forcing concessions at the very heart of its existence.”
They argue that denying Israel’s sovereignty in these areas doesn’t foster peace but instead “will only prolong conflict and increase threats, not only to the Jewish people but also to Palestinians who genuinely desire peace.”
The letter’s language is unapologetically rooted in biblical theology. “Mr. President, we urge you to resist the pressure of those who, through the ‘death of a thousand cuts,’ would dismantle Israel’s claim to the land promised by God in Scripture and affirmed by history,” the leaders write.
“America must not be a party to undermining what God has established and will continue to establish.” This plea frames U.S. policy not merely as a foreign affairs matter but as a moral imperative aligned with divine covenant.
Evangelicals emphasize that Judea and Samaria are integral to Israel’s identity, beyond mere geography. “Judea and Samaria are not only Israel’s history, they are Israel’s identity,” the letter asserts.
“Sovereignty over this land is Israel’s God-given right, and for the sake of justice and lasting peace, it must be recognized.” In closing, the group implores Trump to etch his legacy in eternal terms: “As Christians who stand firmly with the Jewish people, we ask you to continue your courageous leadership by acknowledging Israel’s right to exercise sovereignty over Judea and Samaria.
Such a step would not only align with biblical truth, but it would also advance peace by grounding policy in reality rather than illusion. Mr. President, your leadership at this critical moment matters. History will remember you as the leader who chose to stand with God’s covenant and with His people, Israel.”
The timing of the letter is no coincidence. It precedes Trump’s White House sit-down with Netanyahu, where annexation discussions were anticipated despite the president’s public stance against it.
Speaking to reporters last Thursday, Trump was unequivocal: “I will not allow it. It’s not going to happen,” he said. “Whether I spoke with Bibi or not—and I did—I will not allow Israel to annex the West Bank.
That’s enough. It’s time to stop now.” This tension highlights the delicate balance Trump navigates: balancing Evangelical support, which propelled much of his base in past elections, with broader diplomatic concerns.
Prominent voices among the signatories add weight to the call. Pastor Gary Hamrick of Cornerstone Chapel in Leesburg, Virginia; Pastor Jack Hibbs of Calvary Chapel Chino Hills, representing the Real Life Network; former Congresswoman Michele Bachmann, now Dean of Regent University; and conservative radio host Eric Metaxas are all on board.
So too are Dumisani Washington of the Institute for Black Solidarity with Israel, Tony Perkins, president of the Family Research Council, and Mat Staver, chairman of Liberty Counsel.
The broader context ties into ongoing fallout from Hamas’s October 7, 2023, attack on Israel, which killed 1,200 people—mostly civilians—and led to the abduction of hostages still held captive.
Trump’s recent address at the United Nations General Assembly lashed out at state recognitions, warning, “As if to encourage continued conflict, some of this body is seeking to recognize the Palestinian state unilaterally. The rewards would be too great for Hamas terrorists, for their atrocities.” He urged Western powers to prioritize hostage releases over premature statehood gestures.
This Evangelical pushback also counters recent criticisms from within conservative circles. Commentator Tucker Carlson faced backlash for dismissing “Judea and Samaria” as fictional, insisting on the “West Bank” terminology.
In response, Susan Michael, president of the U.S. branch of the International Christian Embassy Jerusalem and a letter signatory, has defended the biblical names. She previously explained to The Christian Post that “the names Judea and Samaria have been used since biblical times and are still used today by the Israeli government.”
