I enjoy a good mystery. But there is little to no mystery as to why so many young people in general are depressed, unhappy, on mood altering medications, taking drugs to escape, and they are filled with rage and confusion. Filled with fear and hopelessness.
It’s what has been poured into them by those they listen to and follow. With the overwhelming majority of those instructing, teaching, raising, and supposedly guiding young people in preparation for life are godless, haters of the truth, haters of God, haters of the Lord Jesu Christ, and mockers and scoffers of the Holy Bible.
Fewer and fewer attend Christian churches, and the growing number of so-called Christian churches over the past fifty years or so have become further distanced from the Word of God and the teaching of sound doctrine.
When from first recollections you’re fed nothing but man and woman are killing the planet and they ought to love and worship the planet, and a young person looks around and sees the pace and actions of the world and anxiety intensifies within them as they act reactionary to the words they hear, what they follow on social media, and what their utterly lost and in total darkness parents, teachers, friends, and those they listen to and follow are filling their hearts and minds with.
Artificial Intelligence is going to destroy the world in two years.
The planet has no hope. We’ve passed the tipping point.
You’re born a boy? No, you’re really a girl inside, aren’t you? You’re born a girl? No, you’re really a boy inside, aren’t you? Or one of any other sixty plus genders and beings now taught and believed.
Unless you wear a size 0 and wear such and such threads and kicks you’re a total loser.
And what fills them for what passes for music. Entertainment. Fun. Education. What their foundations are comprised of. Hot wind and shifting sand.
And the gargantuan lies and myths that are passed around and grow within them like a cancer tumor being fed that which makes it grow daily.
Is it any wonder?
God has been removed from their lives. Jesus and understanding exactly Who and what Jesus did for every sinner is removed from them and perverted. The Holy Spirit is never mentioned to them though they believe in fairies, ghosts, aliens from other worlds, and everything they see and find on social media platforms.
In many of their lives their parents have either been absent as the parents are still lost selfish children themselves, or attempting to fill their offspring’s lives with so much they fail to ever teach them those most important foundational things in this life regarding what is to come when the Lord Jesus Christ returns again — because the parents, even if professed Christians, at this point in history doubt, are full of disbelief and unsound teachings.
Is it any wonder why young people, and not only so-called “progressives” are depressed, unhappy, and many more than at any time in history contemplate taking their own life?
Where is the teaching of the children well in the foundations of the Lord and His Word?
Not found often in America. Canada. England, Scotland, or France. Not found in any Western nation, not found in most nations of the world presently. Except in Africa. Africa and a few other places on this small fast spinning sphere are held in place and all things are provided continually by the will of God holding it all together as He is in control and all of Bible prophecy is being fulfilled are the only places on earth where great numbers are hearing the preaching of the Word and turning to the Lord.
While America has become a sound teaching of the Word of God desert.
Fill a person with no hope and keep them from the knowledge of God and no matter their age, gender, political leanings, or place where they live that person even if exhibiting the outward appearance of happiness within is not knowing or experiencing true joy, true happiness and able to understand, see, know and those cope with whatever may come in this life. No matter what happens on this earth.
Until and unless all people, especially those professing to be disciples of the Lord Jesus Christ, thus Christians, and children of God rather than children of the world and darkness come to the point of abandoning all the short-sighted and misleading speech and writing that the core problem is leftist politics, progressive political ideologies, and finally decide to speak the truth, write the truth, and live the truth, which is all of this is because of only one clear black and white matter. As there are no gray areas in anything. That is a lie most have adopted and live by, but everything is either black or white. Everything is of the escalating spiritual war taking place within every individual and around every individual and has nothing to do with the instruments by which this spiritual war is perpetuated and fought.
Do the syringe and needle save a person? Or is it the serum within the syringe and coming out of the needle and into the body that can heal a person?
Is it the pan, the pot, the stove, or the oven that creates the food that provides health and life? Or is the produce, the meats, and the grains consumed that truly nourish and sustain life?
Anyone and everyone that places politics, and political ideologies as the root cause and goes no further, refuses to truly address the clearness, the easy to see and understand black and whiteness of everything taking place as the ongoing and escalating war between God and Satan and everyone who is either truly within the company of God soldering on or in the concentration camp behind barbed wire and captured by Satan. And worldly political ideologies are nothing more than the syringe, the needle, the pot, the pan, the stove. And not the point or real source of it all.
Let’s wise up and finally become aware, objective, rational, logical, responsible, and sound in our minds thinking critically and Biblically, shall we if we profess to be Christ’s and God’s?
Teach the children well. In the foundations and ways of the Lord. Daily. Nightly. But first, believe them yourself. Be Bible literate and fluent. Living in the Word daily, nightly, or else the teacher will be as feeble as the student.

Why Are Young Progressives So Unhappy?

We know America is experiencing a mental health crisis, but the Youth Risk Behavior Survey recently released by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) illustrates just how serious the problem has become for America’s young people. In 2021, almost three in five teenage girls felt persistent sadness. Girls are twice as likely to be depressed as boys, and one in three girls said they seriously considered suicide. This is a real crisis, and several factors are relevant.
Social media had negatively impacted mental health long before the response to COVID-19 made the problem worse. But a new, perhaps surprising factor, has emerged. It seems a teenager’s political views impact their levels of depression as well.
The study, released in December of 2022, found that liberal teens are more likely to be depressed than their conservative peers. In fact, liberal boys are more likely to be depressed than conservative girls, which suggests that political beliefs are more predictive of depression than gender.
The authors attempted to explain the depression of liberal teenagers in two ways. First, they suggest liberal teens are depressed because they live in a world dominated by conservative values. “[L]iberal adolescents may have therefore experienced alienation with a growing conservative political climate such that their mental health suffered in comparison to that of their conservative peers whose hegemonic views were flourishing.” Few conservatives would agree with the suggestion that conservative political attitudes have achieved cultural dominance.
Alternatively, the authors of the study suggest that progressive kids might be more depressed because they are being targeted — directly or indirectly — by conservatives. “[H]eightened awareness and experience of conservative actions to restrict their rights may have compounded emotional distress.” Is the world simply kinder to conservative teenagers? They offered no evidence of that.
Absent proof that liberal teenagers are a new category of oppressed minority, we should pause to consider whether the modern, liberal worldview might cause depression. There are reasons it could.
In the recent past, the gap between conservatives and liberals was much smaller. Partisan differences were defined by prudential disagreements over the size of government, foreign policy, marginal tax rates, the scope of appropriate regulation, or the most effective way to help the poor. Today, political tribes argue about the ability of men to get pregnant, which is really disagreement about whether humanity is supposed to make the rules or follow the rules. What we once thought of as political differences have functionally become religious differences and the data confirms the connection. Atheists and agnostics are almost always on the political Left, and the more religiously observant you are, the more likely you are to be on the political Right.
As a result, the thing that makes young people liberals is not so much their belief in a social safety net, but their belief that we are in charge of ourselves — my body my choice. While it’s nice to be in charge, for liberals the situation is complicated by the fact that everything is going terribly: the American dream is a sham, climate change will kill us all, and systemic racism is eternal, they would argue.
Not only does modern liberalism require awareness of problems, it demands a fixation on them and a conviction that they can all be fixed through political action. The Prayer of Serenity has been replaced by “If you’re not angry, you’re not paying attention.” It’s not enough to simply treat people well because, “If you’re not anti-racist, you’re racist.” Simply doing your part to make the world better is insufficient because “injustice anywhere is injustice everywhere.” It’s exhausting, but the exhaustion is proof that you’re doing it right.
The Left’s perpetual outrage has turned anger and depression into a form of virtue. As Yglesias notes, “[A]dult progressives … valorize depressive affect as a sign of political commitment.” As a result, a good liberal knows only the ignorant and apathetic can afford the luxury of gratitude or contentment. Therein lies the problem. Since the world’s crises will never end, the moment for contentment, rest, and gratitude will never come.
Christians have a way to understand a broken world that leads to joy despite the pain. Jesus promised us that we would have trouble, but He told us to take heart because He has overcome the world (John 16:33). Our worldview demands joy despite the circumstances because our hope transcends the circumstances. Today’s secular progressive has no such hope. Their joy will come once they’ve worked hard enough to fix all the problems. No wonder they’re depressed.
