“…If a man love me he will keep my word…”

Inspired by John 14:23, on January 20th

Such a simple plea

unto we

who hear His voice and profess

Jesus answered

and said unto him,

“If a man love me,

he will keep my word

and my Father will love him,

and

will

come unto him,

and make our abode with him.”

Yet

why

such a simple plea

unto we

so ignored

treated as if abhorred

we profess ourselves wise

in our lies

roaming homeless in truth

no love

no honor of word

no abode within the bosom of our Lord!

Simple

command

can we comply

not lie

die with Him to rise with Him

repented, forgiven in the blood

to abide

our love

to never hide

letting His light shine within

without

to be seen like a city on a hill

visible love

visible light

not hidden

not silent

not muddied nor clouded

in worldly ways and lies

“If a man love me…

he will keep my word…”

Called trust

devotion

glorifying

in truth

not some Sunday sundae

all covered in syrup and surrounded with nuts

no cherry on top

when will the misguided banality

apostasy

lies

foolishness

ignorance

stop!

Do you not know in your heart

when someone

deceives

lies

to you

saying with their lips, “I love you”

Yet

they take no action

to such decree of loves

satisfaction

shallow words only

no living of what is spoken

token

superficial

why the show with no go?

Do we not truly understand

consequences

accountability

discipleship

along this step by step daily, nightly trip

alone in love devoted to our Lord

living in accord

pleasing

acceptable to Him

not ourselves

not our wives, husbands, mothers, fathers

others

only in love

abiding in His word

OBEYING

SERVING

in our undeserving

“If a man love me…

he will keep my word…”

Such a simple plea

made to we

demonstrating so little faith

we do not live our trust in the Lord

by being swallowed

wallowed

hollow  (words of ours)

in this world

Might be mighty

living in the fleshly mansion

yet

if

not

keeping His word…

We have no abode

no Father coming to us

we are but pretenders

surrendered

to this world

rather than

surrendered to Jesus Christ

Who is beyond Saviour

and is LORD

discern wisely rightly well

dividing

not hiding behind modern-day

euphemistic apostasy

as

our

LORD

we

SUBMIT

OBEY

each and every day

in every way

“If a man love me…

he will keep my word…”

I must confess

I do not always keep His word

I fail daily

yet

when

knowing this

I do not continue going astray through the day

I stop

halt

heed

no longer recede from God our Father

Jesus Christ our Lord

for I feel the tearing

tearing

of being naked

without an abode

made by the hands of the Father

the blood and resurrection of my Lord

and this I can’t abide

so my love

my obedience

my error

my sin

I can’t hide

nor lie

So instead of being swept away

through the day

taken further from our Father

further from our Lord

deluding myself

I

stop

and turn

to God

to Jesus Christ

seeking the Holy Spirit’s way

through the stormy seas

of each and every day

striving to obey

live

according to His word

each and every day

Always

“If a man love me…

he will keep my word…”

Such a simple plea

unto we

why

oh why

my dear brother

my sweet sister

can’t we simply

obey

every day

rather than going our own way?

Jesus answered

and said unto him,

“If a man love me,

he will keep my word

and my Father will love him,

and

will

come unto him,

and make our abode with him.”
