So Many Words

You have wearied the Lord with your words

You have wearied the Lord with your words;
Yet you say,
“In what way have we wearied Him?
In that you say,
“Everyone who does evil
Is good in the sight of the Lord,
And He delights in them,”
Or, “Where is the God of justice?”

Malachi 2:17

The Book of Malachi, Hebrewמַלְאָכִי, was written, according to Bible scholars, around 433 to 424 B.C. The LORD was already wearied by all the words of people. His people.

Asking, “Where is the God of Justice?” Or, how can God allow bad things to happen? Or, everyone is inherently good, there is no sin, no evil.

Questioning with so many words, so many people asking how God can allow evil. Well, folks, it’s because we disobeyed. It’s because God, the Loving Creator, created man and woman with free will. To choose. God has no part in sin, in wickedness, in evil. That’s all OUR DOING. On us. Not God. Don’t like all the evil, the horrible things in the world? Stop doing them. Teach your children well in the ways of the LORD. Follow God and not the world.

The world is comprised of individuals possessing free will. No marinettes, no puppets, no robots. Evil is all due to us. Our inherent evil natures. Against God. Rebellion. Don’t like that? Then do something about it.

Imagine, take some time to seriously imagine, knowing the history that has passed in almost 2500 years, the words spoken or thought, which have been and are cursing God, questioning God the Creator — just how weary the LORD is today. Of all the words of people. His people. Questioning Him.

Rather than accepting Him. Obeying Him and His Son, Jesus, Yeshua, Lord of lords, King of kings, Who is coming soon. Very soon. Because there is a limit to God’s patience with the wickedness of man and woman.

He is a patient God. A merciful God. A loving God. But He can endure only so much sin. So much wickedness. In His All-Knowing, outside of time, beyond human comprehension, He knows mankind is only going to decline deeper and deeper into sin, into wickedness, into disobedience — to the point He asked, “I tell you that He will avenge them speedily. Nevertheless, when the Son of Man comes, will He really find faith on the earth?” [Luke 18:8].

We make God, our Creator, so weary in our words of doubt, denial, despair, questioning Him at every turn.

Why do it?

Meditate on comparing the God of the Holy Bible of Jews and Christ followers, the God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob [Israel], compared to each of us. Feeble, small, finite, limited in our understanding, refusing to seek the Holy Spirit and greater discernment that only comes from God, from His Spirit indwelling, spending time in His Word rather than the words of men, the words of the world.

I do not ever make resolutions, but it would behoove one and all finding themselves here, no matter how holy [imagined], how perfect your church attendance [meaningless], how many bake sales, car washes, committees, this and that — all the vain works — to resolve and than carry out to become truly humble, truly serving, truly living in and living out the Word of God, which is Jesus Christ, Yeshua Hamashiac.

Let it begin with me.
