Not warm and fuzzy, I understand

I understand. I do. I’m not particularly warm and fuzzy, most folks’ cup of tea, or soothing beverage of choice. Aren’t there more than enough people pleasers, watching every word, looking to increase numbers or ad revenue types around?

These are not times to be passive. No time in history has ever been such a time. And in times such as this? Can’t have as the number one priority concern about whether someone misunderstands and gets upset because a certain word, or words, are used.

Might not like it, or agree, but a lot of people are stupid. Don’t believe that? Do some research on proficiency scores across the nation from public schools in America over the past 30 years. Get back to me. I’ll gladly read anything you have to say to refute this fact. Schools have become containment centers, indoctrination centers, not educational institutions. Students are passed along — they are pushed through, and if in-depth subjects were taught and graded honestly, we’d have 30-year-olds still in the 7th grade, and classrooms consisting of about 6,000 students, because they haven’t been learning, they aren’t learning.

They come in. Are pushed through the system and spit out the other side of K through 12. Oh, so many beat their chests with pride of their graduation rate — but check the proficiency test scores in the basics.

I have heard many pastors laud the fact that young people are buying up Bibles. That is a good thing. I wonder, though, how many are able to read them, since most exiting high schools in America read and comprehend at a fourth-grade level.

But they graduated!

Are we great, or what?

Our media is more inaccurate than accurate. We know that. Yet don’t seem to really care about doing anything about it.

Our medical schools are adopting, and many already have adopted the teaching of multiple genders. Changing a biological fact to fit an agenda. An evil, lost, dark, misguided agenda. But it makes certain people happy, and that seems to be what matters most.

Seminaries are teaching that there was no virgin birth, no resurrection, no great flood, no single man and single woman in a garden to start everything, as in Genesis, and much of God’s holy word is just allegory, poetry, just a story, and not factual, actual, historical, real, the truth. There are no stories in the Holy Bible.

Ask your pastor what they really believe. Go ahead. Ask them. Ask if they believe in the virgin birth, the resurrection of Jesus after lying dead in the tomb for three days, if there was only one man and one woman at the beginning, if they believe God created everything in six days, ask away, and find out what they truly believe. What they were taught where they went to seminary. If they cannot faithfully believe all of God’s word? Run, run, run quickly from that place and find a Bible-believing, Bible-teaching, Bible-preaching church and pastor. I know, I know — it becomes more difficult.

Too much warm and fuzzy, caring about feelings rather than the truth in America’s churches.

But we must be warm and fuzzy, right? Care more about if someone becomes upset, doesn’t like what’s said or written, something they don’t agree with that conflicts with their feelings, their relative self-created truth that has no bearing in reality, or the truth.

Oh, and if a YouTuber or someone on social media pushing something? It’s all about the numbers, right? Appeasement. People pleasing. Appeal to people rather than appealing to heaven.

Wow.

What a world we have made, eh?

The world is a hard place. It always has been. Serving, following the LORD requires speaking, writing, and living in opposition to the world. Not in trying to be a graduate of the Dale Carnegie misguided teaching of how to win friends and influence people.

Yes, honey does attract more flies than does vinegar, but who really wants to attract flies?

Why not speak, write the truth as in Scripture, as the world turns, groans under the weight of increased sin, and shed light in all the darkness? And if someone can’t handle that, they don’t like how something was said or written? Well…you can’t please everyone, and no one should even try pleasing everyone.

I’m just a sinner like everyone else. Thankfully, by the free gift of grace from God, the sacrifice God made on that tree of shame and my faith in Him and His whole word — I’m saved. Born anew. Yet flawed like everyone else. Not making an excuse for the times I’m off base, shouldn’t have said or written what I have. I never have within my heart or mind with the thought or the intent to offend or hurt.

I never really watched Mr. Rogers. I tried a couple of times.

Not warm and fuzzy, I understand.

Oh, I can be. With my wife. But she’s the only one to ever see, hear, or know that part of me.

We don’t live in a Mr. Rogers world. We don’t live in a fantasy. Or we shouldn’t, though far too many do. Do you realize America has about 5% of the world’s population while consuming 80% of the psychotropic mood-altering prescription drugs in the world?

Time to stop running, stop hiding, stop pretending, stop lying, stop tripping, and come out of the thick cloud of delusion.

Get a Holy Bible. Open it. Daily. Nightly. Stir, shake well. Let it enter into your spirit, soul, heart, and mind. Repeat. Truly discern. It isn’t a difficult thing. Don’t need to be a scholar or graduate of a seminary. Ask aloud, of the Holy Spirit, believing, faithfully, asking for discernment, for greater understanding. To be equipped for the world, the times God has placed each of us in.

Be gentle, yes, be kind, yes, be loving, yes. But also be faithful to the whole word of God, and it isn’t about warm and fuzzy now, is it? It isn’t about conforming to the worldview, the philosophy, the psychology, the dictates and desires of mankind, is it?

The world is hard. Life on earth is hard. Standing firm in the faith, in the truth, being bold, speaking and writing — living out one’s salvation and faith as God made one’s personality, and God knitted each of us in our mother’s womb, God gave us the personality we have. Might not feel as if you fit, and that’s a good thing. Go with that. Fitting into the world makes one not the right size of heart, spirit, soul, and mind for God. Oh, to change that worldly heart, shape it in the image of Jesus, to have the LORD continue to sanctify us as we move through this fleshly realm that will pass away one day. That’s the way, the only way to walk each day.

Be warm when it requires being warm. Certainly. Genuinely. Other times — always be real. Aren’t there more than enough fakers, pretenders, truth benders [deceived playing at life]?

Fuzzy is something that sticks to clothing and needs to be removed, or is on food left in the refrigerator too long, which needs to be tossed in the rubbish.

Put on the garment of truth. Some don’t like how that fits, but it is what everyone needs to put on and wear if they want to get to the only right place to be — while here on earth, and in the eternity to come.

It’s winter. For the world. A thicker skin is required.

A discerning mind, spirit, soul, and life in God’s word is the suit of armor every soldier of the LORD’S in this escalating spiritual war needs to put on and keep on, and keep maintained.

Maranatha.

Shalom.

Oh, now watch this. Really. Don’t be afraid. You’ll like it. Or your money back…
