Ears & Eyes
“The hearing ear and the seeing eye, The LORD has made them both.”
Proverbs 20:12
Understand the words of the LORD given to the man God gave the most wisdom to, King Solomon.
Ears can and do hear much. Too much. Eyes can and do see much. Too much. It is the ear, the eye turned to the LORD, to His word and ways, His righteousness, His mercy, and glory that can truly hear, truly see.
What are we allowing ourselves to hear? What are we allowing ourselves to see? Using the word freedom as given to us by God in error. Grave error.
As the elect of God, redeemed, saved from the Second Death through our repentance, our confession of sin, our faith, and our obedience to God, in Christ, we are to hear His word above all else, see His truth and ways above all else.
Then live accordingly as salt, not only flavoring our speech our lives, not only preserving as we are blessed with breath and life, but also, as salt purifying as we go about each day, in every way. As light in all the loud, vicious, foolish, lying, deluded, lost, roiling, boiling stewing darkness that grows bolder and darker, if it were possible, and it is as we witness it doing so daily. Because the spirit of death and destruction, the spirit of evil is aware its time is limited. It is consuming as much as it can while it can.
As ambassadors of Christ, as a light to shine into and on that darkness that infiltrates, consumes, and removes light and life from individual spirits, souls and lives — that is what we have been commissioned, brought out in His mercy and faithfulness to do. No matter how dark it may become. Our God is Greater. Do not fear. Our God, our Savior, our LORD is Greater.
May we hear correctly, thus speak correctly. May we see correctly, thus report correctly. First to ourselves, then to others.
Diligence, perseverance, unwavering in the faith and words of the Holy Bible, not adding to them or removing any from them. Hearing, seeing the words of God above, over, and beyond all the words of man.
For the time is short.
Today is the day given.
Not to binge watch dung on Netflix. Waste time. Pursue nonsense. But to pursue God. Above all else.
To affix our ears, our eyes, our spirits, our souls, our hearts, minds, and all on the LORD and His ways, His words which bring life and light. His truth. Which is the only truth there is.
May the ears we are heard by, may the eyes were are seen by reveal the Holy Spirit residing in us to them. May we hear and obey, may we see and obey. As a living example of Christ to others. Always.
