Tick, tick, tick, tick, tick…

Then the Pharisees and Sadducees came, and testing Him asked that He would show them a sign from heaven. He answered and said to them, “When it is evening you say, ‘It will be fair weather, for the sky is red’; and in the morning, ‘It will be foul weather today, for the sky is red and threatening.’ Hypocrites! You know how to discern the face of the sky, but you cannot discern the signs of the times. A wicked and adulterous generation seeks after a sign, and no sign shall be given to it except the sign of the prophet Jonah.” And He left them and departed.

Matthew 16:1-4

It is amazing how mankind knows certain signs, yet the overwhelming majority fail to truly recognize the signs of the times. Just as the Pharisees and Sadducees failed to see God before them, the Messiah they knew was prophesied in Scripture, and they were blind, intentionally, to His resurrection after giving up His life, Himself, voluntarily, for the sin of mankind, to walk out of the tomb three days later, just as Jonah was vomited from the innards of the great being God created specifically to swallow up Jonah. It wasn’t a whale. Read the account in the Scriptures. God created a special creature to swallow Jonah. Important, do important to get things straight. Right.

In 1947, mankind decided the end of the world was closer than ever before, and they created the Doomsday Clock. They’ve kept inching it ever closer to strike midnight — THE END — focusing on everything other than that which they should.

Pointing to this, that, the next thing all in vain as they realize the end is close, while utterly failing to understand why. Not nuclear weapons, not the climate, carbon monoxide, or plastic straws, or internal combustion engines.

SIN! Mankind’s sin!

Why does the world end?

Why are we so close and so many sense it? They know it’s close but are blind and rebelling against the why, the what, and the Who and the who.

Why? Because of men and women turning from God, Jesus, the Holy Spirit, and the Holy Bible as never before in history since Jesus came to earth, since the Holy Bible became available to people. The rise of false teachers, the great falling away, technology, lawlessness, Isaiah 5:20, 2 Chronicles 7:14, and, well, the contents of the whole Holy Bible.

Why and what? SIN, the sin of people increasing to a level that God could not allow this world to go on. You know all the plagues and catastrophes to come as prophesied in Revelation and by the prophets? Why those come? Not because God wants to bring those on mankind. No, no, no! Mankind brings them all upon themselves.

The Who is because of Jesus. It’s always been all about Jesus. And the who of those who accept Him and the who of those who reject Him.

Gets to a point where God in his infinite wisdom, knowing all things, outside of time, comes to the place in world history where there are so many lost — forever, given up to their reprobate minds, which is the time, the sign we’re presently in and is increasing by the week — so many so dark, so wicked, so evil, so sinful, so rebellious there is no hope of them coming from that degree of darkness into the light, the truth, and the way, which is Jesus Christ, Yeshua Hamashiac.

So many people are so aware that the time for this world is short. Either hiding and denying, escaping via drugs, alcohol, sex, violence, what have you, providing their senseless activities to keep them from thinking, seeing, and hearing the truth. Knowing there IS a Jesus, as they use His name in vain, spit on Him still, lash out at Him still, no less than his false witnesses, Pharisees, Sadducees, High Priest, the Sanhedrin, and Roman soldiers did when He was here the first time in the flesh, being tried in an illegal court.

Looking at all the signs of the end as it races closer and closer — always failing to truly see, understand, and do what they ought to do before the clock strikes midnight.

This isn’t a fairy tale.

There’s only a happy ending for those who repent of their sin and confess their sin to Jesus. Humble themselves. Ask Him to forgive them and accept them as one of His, to ask the Holy Spirit to come, to help you, and to make Jesus Lord of your life.

Because for everyone else? Oooohhhhhh…

Not a happy eternity at all, which will never end.

Only what is now here and now known ends. The spirit, the soul, goes on. To either one of only two places. And contrary to a rising false teaching among more and more false teachers, hell is not like a timeout, a temporary matter. It is eternal. Just as heaven is.

God knows that those who reject Him and His Son, Jesus, if they were to live 10,000 years, would continue to reject, mock, and not believe. Their heart and minds would never allow the entrance of the Holy Spirit to reveal the truth to them.

So, they receive their just, eternal reward, which is eternal condemnation since God knows in His All Knowing they will eternally condemn and deny Him and Jesus.

It’s the ultimate justice.

Tragically, those thought to be, calling themselves born again Christ followers now don’t like this. So they have decided to change the Word of God, ignore the clear, easy-to-understand words about this in the Scriptures. The words are there. Seek, and ye shall find…

Looking for a sign of the end bearing down on everyone closer than ever?

Just look around. Listen. Inhale the putrid stench of the decaying hearts, minds, and souls of so many raging, lying, and denying.

Tick, tick, tick, tick, tick…

“Doomsday Clock” moves to 85 seconds to midnight, the closest point to catastrophe since its debut

The “Doomsday Clock,” a metaphor for how close humanity is to self-annihilation, was moved to 85 seconds to midnight on Tuesday, its closest point to catastrophe since the clock made its debut nearly 80 years ago.

“Humanity has not made sufficient progress on the existential risks that endanger us all,” said Alexandra Bell, president and CEO of the Bulletin of the Atomic Scientists.

The risks humanity faces from nuclear weapons, climate change and disruptive technologies are growing, Bell said. “Every second counts, and we are running out of time,” she said.

Last year, the Bulletin set the clock at 89 seconds to midnight, which was its previous closest setting to midnight.

Daniel Holz, the chair of the Bulletin’s science and security board that sets the “Doomsday Clock” and a physics professor at the University of Chicago, said major countries became more aggressive, adversarial and nationalistic in the past year.

Holz also noted that a 2010 strategic arms treaty between the U.S. and Russia is set to expire next week.

“For the first time in over half a century, there will be nothing preventing a runaway nuclear arms race,” Holz said.

On climate change, Holz said atmospheric carbon dioxide and global sea levels have reached record highs.

“Droughts, fires, floods and storms continue to intensify and become more erratic, and this will only get worse,” Holz said.

Holz also warned of a potential arms race surrounding artificial intelligence, which he said could result in dire consequences.

“AI is a significant and accelerating disruptive technology. AI is also supercharging mis- and disinformation, which makes it even more difficult to address all of the other threats we consider,” Holz said.

He also expressed concern about what he referred to as “the increasing rise of nationalistic autocracies.”

“If the world splinters into an us-versus-them, zero-sum approach, it increases the likelihood that we all lose,” Holz said.

Holz also noted the two fatal shootings of Renee Good and Alex Pretti this month by federal agents in Minnesota and what he called an “erosion of the constitutional rights of American citizens.”

“History has shown that when governments become unaccountable to their own citizens, conflict and misery follow,” Holz said.

Bell said the issues that influence the clock’s setting are solvable, but people need to work together to find the solution.

“Every time we’ve been able to turn back the hands of the clock, it’s been because we had scientists and experts working to find solutions and a public that was demanding action,” Bell said.

The Bulletin first unveiled the clock in 1947 in the wake of the U.S. using atomic bombs against Japan in World War II. The group says its aims are to “help advance actionable ideas to reduce existential threats.”

The clock’s minute hand has been moved more than two dozen times in its nearly eight-decade history.

The farthest the clock has been from midnight was 17 minutes in 1991, following the end of the Cold War and the signing of a strategic arms treaty between the Soviet Union and the U.S. to reduce their nuclear arsenals.

In recent years, the clock has been ticking closer to midnight. The 2020s started with the clock moving to 100 seconds to midnight, with the group saying cyber-enabled information warfare was compounding the threat posed by nuclear war and climate change by undercutting society’s ability to respond to either.

The clock stayed in that position for the next two years until 2023, when it was moved to 90 seconds to midnight, largely because of what the group said were the increasing dangers posed by Russia’s war in Ukraine. It stayed at that setting in 2024.

Last year, the clock was moved one second closer to midnight, with the group saying, “Despite unmistakable signs of danger, national leaders and their societies have failed to do what is needed to change course.”
