The SPLC’s indictment revealed that the organization, which claimed to be fighting the KKK and ‘white supremacists’ was funding them instead. The Southern Poverty Law Center claimed that it was paying informants, but $3 million is a whole lot more than just paying for tips. And at least in the case of the Charlottesville, ‘Unite the Right’ rally, the one that Democrats did their best to falsely link Trump to, and that Biden cited as his reason for running, the SPLC appeared to be paying one of those working on organizing it.
This isn’t too surprising though if you know the SPLC’s history as being set up by Morris Dees, a former Klan lawyer who was good at direct marketing and who bilked a generation of old people out of money by sending them envelopes with pictures of Klansmen on them. (Dees also wanted people to mistake him for being Jewish.) Eventually Dees was ousted over accusations of racism.
Over the years, Freedom Center Investigates documented repeated examples of fraudulent behavior by the SPLC which included efforts to artificially inflate the number of hate groups. The best way to understand the SPLC was that it started out as a fraud that eventually morphed into an authentic woke effort to censor conservatives. But the fraud was always there underneath.
Now the SPLC has been indicted for its underlying crimes.
The SPLC had been financing what it claimed to be fighting in order to cash in on it. And that in some ways is the liberal model for cashing in on the problems that it creates.
The Department of Justice Just Dropped Devastating Charges Against One of the Left’s Favorite Activist Groups
The DOJ just hit the Southern Poverty Law Center – one of the Left’s premier “anti-hate” activist groups targeting conservatives – with a devastating list of charges. Glenn Beck reviews the charges, including that the SPLC gave millions to the same “extremists” it claimed it was fighting.
