True Repentance – Focus Online

This is what the Sovereign LORD, the Holy One of Israel, says: “In repentance and rest is your salvation, in quietness and trust is your strength, but you would have none of it.”

Isaiah 30:15

I have written for months, years here how the only act that will alter the course America is on is TRUE INDIVIDUAL REPENTANCE. No human and earthly political endeavor be it an election, a specific politician, a bill in Congress, an executive order, or a political party can bring about the required and necessary change this lost and dying, turned from God nation needs for true restoration.

Repent, then, and turn to God, so that your sins may be wiped out, that times of refreshing may come from the Lord,

Acts 3:19

And all the group hugs, all the blathering dung, all the positive thinking, thinking only good thoughts, all the hope for won’t change a thing. None of that malarkey ever has just as no election or political party ever has brought about the required change.

In Dr. Alex McFarland’s article below he does briefly touch on individual repentance, mentioning it as individual responsibility and in light of filling 90% of his words wrapped in American politics. Left versus right. The image used for his article was a photo of the White House.

So much for true repentance, which involves submission to God. Faith in God. Literally humbling oneself, acknowledging our individual sin and how we need to not feel remorse or attempt to live a certain way — but to SUBMIT FAITHFULLY TO GOD TO THE DEGREE OUR HEARTS ARE CHANGED. That we turn from our past ways, our past ways of thinking, our past actions, words, and deeds and experience true life-altering change, a changed heart, a changed mind from within emanating outwards to be seen felt, and heard by others.

There is no group salvation.

There is no group repentance.

There is a great arrogance in America. A great sense of entitlement.

Or do you show contempt for the riches of his kindness, forbearance and patience, not realizing that God’s kindness is intended to lead you to repentance?

Romans 2:4

It all begins with one person. The me of me. The you of you. Only me, only you. With ourselves. And our God, and our Saviour, and the Holy Spirit.

Submission. Confession. A complete turning away from and not returning to.

Not merely feeling bad, feeling sorry, admitting mistakes, feeling remorse.

No! True repentance is a tangible visible felt within and known experience. Of greater worth than all the gold, jewels, silver, and wealth on earth. For one individual.

And America, like every other place, every other tribe, and every other people on earth can only be restored and preserved and flourish, prosper when right in the sight of God. And that isn’t accomplished by installing Donald Trump in the White House. Or any politician anywhere. Or with any election outcome. Or ascribing blame on a certain politician or political party or optical ideology. To do such is utter ignorance and lacking discernment, the wisdom of what the trouble is and what the remedy is — because the one doing the diagnosis always seems to only see the ailment within leftist political ideologies exonerating any and all conservative folks, all those considered on the right side of the aisle. When everyone is an equal sinner in need of repentance in the eyes of God Almighty Who does not a respetor of people, or one political ideology over another. All are nonsense and a distraction to God. God cares only about the true character and condition of each individual heart, spirit, mind, and soul with regard to Him, His Son, the Lord Jesus Christ, the Holy Spirit, and the entire contents of His Word, the Holy Scriptures.

God is not a Republican. Or even a conservative. Or an American.

And it’s high time all the blathering lost and ignorant thinking they are on the right path come to realize there can be no mixing or something steeped in evil and human desires and definitions when it comes to righteousness, salvation, forgiveness, and true repentance.

Again, until and unless each person can shed all this dung they slather themselves in, and it stinks to high heaven exactly as all the incense burning and sacrifices people in the past made in vain to God as their hearts and minds were not right in His sight — and all their foolish, vain human works efforts, all their going through the motions without having a changed heart meant nothing to God except to increase His wrath and anger towards foolish, selfish, lost and sinful man.

It’s either TRUE INDIVIDUAL REPENTACE and knowing 100% what that means and entails or else the trajectory America is on will lead to our utter ruination as a nation and people.

And no election, no specific politician or group of politicians, no earthly political ideology is going to save this nation or any individual. And God’s wrath and judgments will be seen and felt.

It is a U-turn. And then never going back over that same road again.

Tell me, does any election, politician, or political ideology afford such change?

Or can that change only be attained individually by complete submission to the Lord allowing the Spirit of God to change a heart, a mind, a life as no human effort could?

Was a time that was how time was measured, Christian…

Archaic? No, just we grew lax, lazy, more of the world and less of God lazy in speech, lazy in language preferring to serve the world and the prince of this world rather than maintain certain principles, standards, and ways focusing on God.

Imagine that…

And folks wonder how it is we got to where we now are…hummm…

REPENT! While the Good Lord blesses you with breath, a beating heart, and the opportunity to fall before Him in submission asking for forgiveness in true repentance!

Cast your heart, your mind, your spirit, your soul, your all before the Lord.

Because casting your ballot avails little or nothing in the grand picture. Finally, wake up to that reality, wake up to reality period!

From that time on Jesus began to preach, “Repent, for the kingdom of heaven has come near.”

Matthew 4:17

America Must Repent – Before It’s Too Late

Only repentance will correct our national trajectory.

You know God is powerfully present in a service when people come to the altar, not just to throw themselves before the Divine Lawgiver for mercy but also before local law enforcement.

It was a small town in Illinois — a Friday night service as we were nearing the end of our “50 states in 50 days tour” in June 2000. During the time of prayer and commitment at the end of the service, a gentleman at the church altar whispered in my ear, “I’m wanted by the law, and I need to turn myself in.”

He explained that he was tired of running and wanted to make right with God and man. As the choir continued to sing, the pastor and I took this gentleman to an office in the church building. With a beaming smile and the countenance of one at peace with the world, the man waited for law enforcement to arrive. The bewildered police dispatcher asked, “Are you in danger? Is this a hostage situation?”

“No, it is nothing like that, and no one is in danger,” I explained. “This man has accepted Christ, and he is happy now to surrender to the law.”

It’s a beautiful thing when people get honest with God, with those around them, and with themselves. I’ve seen it thousands of times over three decades of pastoral ministry. Conversely, it is tragic to watch people — and even nations — destroy themselves and their surroundings when they refuse to acknowledge bad decisions and their undeniable consequences.

America is on the precipice of a fall of disastrous proportions. Our nation, nowadays, is painfully feeling the coalescence of decades of bad decisions. At the legal, journalistic, and academic levels, we’re living and governing as if there are no morals nor God who will ever hold us accountable.

Our nation is crumbling, our president is bumbling, and our vice president is mumbling. And what, according to our wise cultural overlords, will fix it? Imposition of trans ideology throughout all levels of culture, keeping the southern border open, and fighting a war on gas stoves and incandescent light bulbs.

The woke, self-appointed messiahs (most of whom recoil at the mention of humanity’s true Messiah) are ignoring constitutional law, the welfare of citizens, and jeopardizing the future of our Republic.

The consistent failure of democrat/leftist ideology at every level for decades is undeniable. It reminds me of a recent assessment of environmental crusader Paul Ehrlich’s Decades of dire and erroneous, end-of-world climate change predictions: he was not just wrong, but “spectacularly wrong.”

Once, when the philosopher George W. F. Hegel made a patently false statement in a college class, a student said, “Herr professor, the facts say otherwise.” Hegel retorted, “So much the worse for the facts!” Such disregard for reality would earn Hegel a cabinet position today.

The solution to this decay is clear — we must repent, turn back to God, and wholesale admit we are a nation in trouble. It is amazing how forgiving the world can be — and how forgiving and restorative God is. It’s called grace. As hymn writer John Newton penned in 1772, the grace of Jesus Christ is indeed “Amazing Grace.”

It begins with each one of us turning to God. Otherwise, we are soon to be a nation beyond salvaging. Repentance will not be a word you hear on the news tonight; it is, unfortunately, missing in many churches. What is repentance?

In the Bible and life, repentance is not difficult. It means an about-face, a 180-degree course correction from where you were headed to someplace new. Today you can find a new life direction and a revitalized attitude. When a preacher like me speaks of “repentance before God,” it means bringing an accountability agent into the decision. I repent before God because He knows and sees all; I hold to my decision because God knows if I break it.

Will you become accountable to yourself, your nation, and God? Repent. Turn. Start again. Become a part of the human infrastructure that repairs and rebuilds this nation. Repentance is the first step to rebuilding the weakened moral structures of America. The foundation is still solid — we are still one nation under God.

National repair begins with personal repentance. We rebuild roads with money and concrete. We heal the soul of a nation one penitent heart at a time. Three trillion dollars can’t widen the road to heaven; it will always be narrow. But a heartfelt personal, “I was wrong — I repent,” can rebuild the bridge to God. We desperately need that bridge open and functioning.
