This, and any article pertaining to the worldwide COVID-19 pandemic do not appear to induce fear, or to take the worldview, to place faith in men, or the news coming out from various media outlets.

I began saying and writing back in February of 2020 this could be the greatest opportunity for those professing to be Christians, true disciples of the Lord Jesus Christ in their lifetimes. To spread the gospel. To grow closer in the Word, in their prayer life, and to God.

Almost every person I encountered at the time, and these are professed Christians mind you ignored those words, or blow them off entirely. Most ignored and blew off the virus invading America as a hoax, not true, no big deal, it’s like the flu and will blow over in a few weeks — many of them taking their cues from either talking head so-called experts who hadn’t a clue, media talking heads who even know less, or government leaders and officials who…well, let’s not go there, okay?

It’s real folks. And getting bigger, badder (I know, not a real word), and worse.

I do not include any of this to induce or increase anxiety or fear in anyone who might be experiencing anxiety or fear as a result of this worldwide virus pandemic.

I do this in the hope and prayer folks finally come to see, if they have not already, all this is God’s will. God either by His will allowed this to occur, or He directly willed it. We do not and will not know. It is not important which is the case. What matters is that God is Sovereign. God’s will be done on earth, as in heaven, His Kingdom come.

God is in control.

All this is taking place for a number of reasons. All sound and good in God’s Sovereign working within the people of this world.

Do not fear. No matter what may come. Abide in and place faith, deep, deep encompassing, soothing, assuring faith in the Lord our God. In the Lord Jesus Christ. In the Holy Spirit. In the Scriptures.

This is the time to put on the full armour of God.

To stand boldly. Fearlessly trusting in the Lord.

To be that light unto the world.

To be that salt that provides flavoring in this bitter world.

Do not fear.

Discern wisely. Search the Scriptures. Fervently, humbly pray. Increasing in prayer, in prayer, and meditation (thinking!) on and within God’s Word.

God is in control no matter what the world says, no matter what an unsound false teaching pastor, denomination, or church may say.

God our Father (that is, our Father if one of His, renewed of mind and spirit, a true disciple of His Son, Jesus) can and will provide COMFORT, CARING, LOVE, TENDERNESS, and His GRACE to every true believer in every situation. No matter how dire those circumstances may seem.

Let us all pace our eyes, our minds, our hearts, our time on those things heavenly and spiritually of God, of Jesus, of the Holy Spirit and pay close attention to the unfolding events, the signs, and wonders, Bible prophecy being fulfilled before our eyes in these last of the last days — but let’s not become consumed in any of these worldly events. If you have faith, are truly transformed and born anew, fairly fluent in Scripture you know these times are coming — and are present with us — and that trials, tribulations, suffering, and much is going to take place on this sinful, fallen, walking in darkness world prior to our Lord’s return.

Look to God. Look to Jesus. Look to the Holy Spirit. Look to the Bible. Look to the spirit and heavenward and not so much to the flesh that will turn to dust, nor this world which will one day fade away and be forgotten for eternity.

What matters most is eternity.

The reality of the spiritual realm and where each individual’s spirit and soul will reside for eternity.

Heaven? With God, Jesus, the Holy Spirit, all the prophets, apostles and saved throughout history?

Or hell?

Which is very, very, VERY real contrary to the lies of Satan and all those in the world who abide in him, enslaved to the father of lies imagining themselves so illuminated and enlightened as they walk in utter darkness — the walking dead. No wonder zombie movies and TV programs and video games have increased so much in popularity over the past 10, 15 years…imagine that…

What Is the E484K COVID Mutation? South African Variant Shows ‘Alarming’ Change

January 13, 2021

A mutation that has appeared in a variant of the coronavirus has been described as “alarming” by a top scientist.

The E484K mutation is present in a variant first detected in South Africa towards the end of last year that has now spread to at least 12 other nations.

The variant is thought to be more transmissible than the form of coronavirus that first emerged in China, although it does not appear to cause more severe disease.

But some experts are concerned that the E484K mutation in this variant has the potential to decrease the efficacy of COVID-19 vaccines.

Penny Moore, from the National Institute for Communicable Diseases, a national public health institute in South Africa, said: “We fear this mutation might have an impact, and what we don’t know is the extent of the impact,” describing the mutation as “alarming.”

COVID-19 vaccines work by inducing the body’s immune system to produce proteins known as antibodies that locate and neutralize the coronavirus.

There is emerging evidence from a handful of recent studies to suggest that E484K might enable the South African coronavirus variant to reduce the ability of some antibodies to neutralize the virus, including a non-peer-reviewed paper published on the pre-print server bioRxiv.

Researchers around the world are still investigating whether or not the mutation will reduce the efficacy of vaccines—and if so, by how much. We won’t know for sure until more research is published over the coming weeks.

At this stage, scientists think it’s unlikely that the E484K mutation could render current COVID-19 vaccines entirely useless or drastically reduce their efficacy.

This is because the shots that are available induce a strong immune response, providing high-levels of protection against the virus.

Jeremy Luban, a virologist at the University of Massachusetts Medical School in Worcester, told Nature: “If I had to bet right now, I would say the vaccines are going to remain effective for the things that really count—keeping people from getting deathly ill.”

There is also some concern over what could happen as the coronavirus accumulates further new mutations over time.

Paul Bieniasz, a virologist at the Rockefeller University, said: “It creates more opportunities for the virus to learn how to be resistant to the vaccine.”

He said: “It’s going to be, over time, likely chipping away at vaccine efficacy, but we’re not going to fall off a cliff tomorrow.”
