I see things. Oh, not visions or anything. Not yet anyway. Although many years ago, not long after being truly saved, transformed by the Supernatural power of the Holy Spirit changing my heart, my mind, birthing me anew — I did have a dream while sleeping that remains with me to this day. It was that vivid, impactful, and memorable.
I remember it, I dreamed it as if it were reality — I was bowing down, on my knees pain-free, which is not possible for me presently or for many years now, and I was on the Mount of Olives looking outward and down upon Jerusalem. I have never been to Israel, though I long to go, would love to go in this fleshly lifetime, but I’ve never been — and it was as real as if I had been there right then and there. Having seen more than enough photographs and videos to recognize the place, that special place I was seeing. God’s city. The city where the Lord Jesus Christ will reign from for 1,000 years upon His Second Coming. I knew what I was seeing was that city, Jerusalem.
I could smell it. Feel the gentle breeze, Looking out over Jerusalem, as I was bowed, at my right side next to me, were feet clad in sandals of a man standing. And I heard a voice talking, and I knew it was the voice of Yeshua HaMashiach, the Lord Jesus Christ. And I was at His feet. One of His. One of His disciples. Looking out over Jerusalem from the Mount of Olives.
Now there was no great prophetic message or words spoken that had not been said before. It was just assurance, I know, from God, that after such a long life as a sinner turned from Him, His Son, and His Word I was finally one of the Lord’s. Saved. A disciple of Jesus. The Messiah. The Saviour. The Redeemer. The Lamb of God.
It was a short dream but one that after all these years I recall exactly as it happened in my mind whilst sleeping one night.
I see things, as the administrator and sole individual overseeing and tending to this place. I see everything that is read. Everything that is neglected and passed over.
Tragically, and to my chagrin, the political, the things of American politics and events far outweigh attentive readers than do the things of God, of the Holy Bible. Things of a faith-based nature from godly men and women.
It is clear the overwhelming majority of folks arriving here pick and choose what to read exactly as they do in their favorite restaurant, always ordering the same thing rather than being open to ever tasting, or trying something else on the menu.
Rutted.
That’s okay when it comes to a favorite restaurant, I suppose, but not for disciples of the Lord Jesus Christ. Oh, not even for those opposed and in rebellion to Yeshua HaMashiach, the Lord Jesus Christ. In rebellion with and denial of the inerrant infallible living and active Word of God.
There is a wonderful man. A truly gifted man. Such a compassionate and faithful man with a great talent given him by God, to write songs, to sing beautifully, to play piano as so many only wish they could. A Jewish man who came to realize, know, and have Jesus as His Saviour, His Friend, His Redeemer. A wonderful Jewish man who is a disciple of the Lord Jesus Christ.
Sadly, the hymns, songs, and wonderful, sincere, beautiful, joy filled weekly program he and his lovely wife present for folks are far too often passed over here.
You know, there’s probably something on the menu at that favorite restaurant of yours that would blow you away and become a new love, a new favorite — bringing so much more pleasure and flavor and joy to you than what you’ve become so accustomed to ordering. Never opting to open a different window, letting in some other fresh air to inhale. Always going to the same room with the same view and sitting in the same place. Isn’t that room with the stale air of politics, the same dirty window, that same soiled and showing signs of wear recliner growing wearisome and isn’t it time to venture into another room in the house? At least for a bit?
Here’s an idea!
Try something new. You might actually really like it!
I know my wife and I do…
Keep going and discover wonder, joy, grace, beauty, love, devotion, faith and a man, a woman committed to the Lord and committed to taking time to pass their faith on. Allowing those willing to try it into their home. Usually twice a week. Unless they have something else going on.
Okay, continue — time to order something else, something really good from the menu, and savor it, enjoy it, and perhaps it will become one of your favorites.
And look over all the possibilities in the RELATED section below…
