ACP — A Crooked Path
I read a lot. Besides some very good and edifying words read I also happen to read a lot of dung. A lot of excrement. All churned out by human beings. Thinking they are funny, letting the evil and the violence within pour out. And it is the piles of dung, the stench the overwhelming majority of people are attracted to.
I turn my computer on. The home page my computer was installed with comes on. Eventually. It’s a Microsoft operating system so, of course, I have all these boxes of so-called information that’s so important [according to Microsoft and MSN] it finds its place on this home page. I usually look at a few of the headlines of the myriad articles posted. I rarely open and read any of them. I’m on a low-dung diet. My doctor put me on one, no, that isn’t true. My faith put me on one. The spirit within me instructed by the Spirit of God keeps me from too much feces churned out by people.
My spirit doesn’t do well with all the banality, all the lies, all the distractions, all the utter rubbish, all the heaping piles of stinking dung. Does yours?
I saw this article. It tells of a woman who put up an inflatable Santa in her front yard — I really dislike any and all inflatable displays. They are dung in and of themselves really.
And this woman, her location was not reported, but it was reported in the opening paragraph that the large lit up from inside Santa in her yard is posed in an obscene fashion. And the next sentence reads that she has received over 36,000,000 views on TikTok and over 5,500,000 likes. And another sentence reads “she has the Internet in stitches.”
This story, presented as news originated from Newsweek. The Newsweek of my youth would never have stooped to such a level, but the decline of our culture is such this is now the rancid pablum passed out to people to digest.
I spent less than a minute with that lost, worldly, inane distracting piece of rubbish of an article. Supposed to be “news.” With all that is happening on this earth. This is what is given to the people to read.
This is the world in which we live.
Try and get 1,000,000 people viewing the Word of God. Or even just paying attention to what’s really going on in this world. Try to get 500,000 people pressing the “like” button reading that same posting of the God-breathed Word of God online. Think it would ever make it as a so-called “news article” posted about how many people prayed, or read the Scripture from that posting of God’s Word?
We live in filth. We live in an obscenity. We live in a massive pile of dung. It’s called what passes for daily life in the hearts and minds of most people on this earth. We live more closely to Huxley’s Brave New World with the masses mindlessly addicted to self, to pleasure, to banality, and entertainment distractions than we do to Orwell’s 1984.
The rot of sin, the corrupting slime of sin is covering more and more and the people either don’t see it at all, or they embrace it, or they see it as something wonderful. The people have truly “been given over to” wickedness, unrighteousness, their lusts, their sins as they blatantly, arrogantly openly have turned from God. Turned from Jesus. Turned from the Holy Spirit. Turned from the truth of the Word of God.
Oh, they love and can’t get enough of a plastic, inanimate thing, a pagan representation that also is posed in an obscene manner. Can’t get enough of that.
But the truth? The Word of God? The sacrifice of the Lord Jesus Christ, God come to earth and go through what He did to forgive their sin if only they would believe, if only they would repent, if only they would confess their sin if only they would obey Him and follow Him and be His true disciple.
It’s all…take it easy, lighten up, quit being so serious, you only go around once, it’s no big deal, why do you care so much…it’s my life and I’ll live it however I want! and every other distracting lie and deception the devil has implanted in the lost dark minds of men and women.
It’s all so-thought fun ‘n games, escapism until…
…death draws near. And eternity lies only a breath, a heartbeat, one step away.
Then it’s only if…
…forever. For eternity.
Oh, and there is a hell.
There is a heaven.
And every person will find themselves in residence in one of those two realms. And contrary to the lie adopted and believed by the prevailing majority — not everyone spends their eternity in the latter. More will find themselves in the former…
