The Answered Prayer | Genesis Bible Fellowship Church

God answers the faithful, fervent, spiritual prayers of His people obedient to Him, His Son, and His ways and Word. The Good Good Great & Gracious, Merciful, and Loving Lord answers the sincere repentant prayers of any who come to Him.

We may not understand the timing it may take — initially, we may not understand — initially — the answer, we may not even like the answer, which is our shortcoming and requirement then to pause and humble ourselves before our God so Mighty, so Vast, so Beyond Comprehension and abide in His answer. Whatever that answer may be.

If we ask amiss, if we ask lacking faith, if we ask continually carnally we can only expect what we receive and deserve.

Holy, Holy, Holy…

Not worldly, worldly, worldly, of this fleeting life, not only of self-interest, fears, anxiety, worry.

Turn from the constant gaze into the mirror, turn around, and look at the panoramic view now. Others. Beyond self. As the Lord did for our sake. As we ought to strive and live to imitate Him and not imitate so many in the world consumed in and by and for self.

For…

Joy. Peace. Growth. In spiritual wisdom and understanding. Seeking the Lord always, continually without ceasing from our spirit to Him and we know He is there, He is within us, He is lifting us, providing all things for us, every moment, every breath as we need. Giving us each the strength sufficient for the day we’re blessed with — and in that day let each of us count, acknowledge, and give thanks vocally, openly, joyfully to our Father in heaven for all the blessings He bestows on us, even the honing, the refining, the trials, sufferings, tribulation which sharpens us and brings us closer to Him.

I will end this before directing you, dear reader finding yourself here, as I have written to those who know me best and I am closest to, my reply to those who may be focused too much on the despair of the moment, as I mention no matter what I may be going through, no matter how my physical self may be suffering, no matter the dilemma that appears so great at the moment it could always be worse — much, much worse. As it is for so many others every day all through their day. And to pause and contemplate what so many are enduring and suffering through each moment of each day and night — be it greater physical woes and pain and doing without — hunger, pain, despair, grief, loneliness, poverty, you name it there are a whole lot more folks on this troubled spinning sphere going through much greater trials and travails that we are at any given moment. Might not make our situation better or change — but depth of perspective, stepping back from self, placing our eyes, our heart, our mind, our spirit, our soul, our all in those times on the Lord, in Him, in His Word, in fervent [hot] faithful prayer to Him will be heard. We will be lifted up. Eventually. Even if we don’t understand the timing or how.

Trust in the Lord.

His will be done. Not ours. His glory. Not ours. His ways. Not ours.

His promises are binding and eternal.

If you forget what those are, just get ahold of His Word and eat of it, drink of it, and ingest it daily.

The Blessedness of Answered Prayer

A Psalm. A Song at the dedication of the house of David.

I will extol You, O Lord, for You have lifted me up,
And have not let my foes rejoice over me.
Lord my God, I cried out to You,
And You healed me.
Lord, You brought my soul up from the grave;
You have kept me alive, that I should not go down to the pit.

Sing praise to the Lord, you saints of His,
And give thanks at the remembrance of His holy name.
For His anger is but for a moment,
His favor is for life;
Weeping may endure for a night,
But joy comes in the morning.

Now in my prosperity I said,
“I shall never be moved.”
Lord, by Your favor You have made my mountain stand strong;
You hid Your face, and I was troubled.

I cried out to You, O Lord;
And to the Lord I made supplication:
“What profit is there in my blood,
When I go down to the pit?
Will the dust praise You?
Will it declare Your truth?
Hear, O Lord, and have mercy on me;
Lord, be my helper!”

You have turned for me my mourning into dancing;
You have put off my sackcloth and clothed me with gladness,
To the end that my glory may sing praise to You and not be silent.
Lord my God, I will give thanks to You forever.
