We’ve all seen the chaos surrounding the elections, political parties, and candidates. It seems to get worse each and every day with no end in sight. What many don’t realize is that our vote goes beyond the halls of the White House, beyond the U.S. borders. Why do our votes and prayers matter when we go to the ballot box in November? My friend, Pam Pryor spent her entire career working in politics—she is who I go to any time I have questions on politics, Washington, D.C., or the American church—and I’ve asked her to join Fearless to talk about what’s at stake for us here and how it affects those around the world.

As we head into this election season, do you feel equipped to look at our culture’s critical issues from a Biblical perspective?

Over the next several weeks, Cissie Graham Lynch will discuss some of the central problems facing our families. In her latest Fearless podcast episode, Cissie interviews Pam Pryor, a former senior official with the U.S. Department of State, on the importance of prayer and seeking God’s guidance before hitting the polls.

“The impact of voting for a U.S. president goes far beyond the halls of the White House, far beyond the U.S. borders—it has a global impact,” Cissie said.

Pam, who now serves in leadership at Cornerstone Chapel in Leesburg, Virginia, has an extensive political career that includes overseeing U.S. engagement at the United Nations.

“People are flawed. Candidates are flawed,” Pam said. “We’ve got to look beyond just the people but vote for the platform, for the group that expresses closest to our Biblical values.”

Listen as the two share how Christians can face this election season with boldness as they trust Jesus Christ, the only answer to the issues the world is facing.

“In those days there was no king in Israel. Everyone did what was right in his own eyes.”
