Israel Offers to Make Sure Aid Goes to Gazans; Hamas Rejects the Offer

What terrible thing has Israel done now? It has offered to use its military to ensure that aid going into Gaza is not stolen by Hamas, as the terror group has been consistently doing ever since October 2023. The IDF would hold onto the aid until such time as it can be distributed, under IDF guard, to the intended recipients. And Hamas is furious. It refuses to consider such a plan. If it can’t steal massive amounts of the aid for itself, then it doesn’t want any aid going into Gaza. Who then is “preventing” humanitarian aid from getting through?

More on the IDF’s offer to keep the aid inside Gaza safe from Hamas’ thieves, and Hamas’ rejection of that offer, can be found here: “Israel is offering to give aid directly to Gazans. Hamas rejects it. So who, exactly, is blocking aid again?” Elder of Ziyon, April 9, 2025:

Hamas’ Felesteen reports:

The Government Media Office Rejects Dangerous Proposals and Mechanisms for Distributing Humanitarian Aid in Gaza

The [Hamas[ Government Media Office affirmed its categorical rejection of attempts to impose “dangerous” proposals and mechanisms for distributing humanitarian aid in the Gaza Strip, which would involve Israeli occupation soldiers or private companies affiliated with the occupation directly distributing aid to Palestinian families. In a press statement issued on Tuesday, the Government Office stated that “this mechanism is rejected in both form and content, constitutes a flagrant violation of international humanitarian law, and fundamentally contradicts the core principles of humanitarian action: neutrality, impartiality, independence, and humanity.”

The government media official appealed to donor countries to “refrain from channeling their aid through the dangerous and unacceptable mechanism proposed by the Israeli occupation, and to commit to delivering it through credible humanitarian channels, foremost among them the United Nations, as it is a neutral and independent body with a long history of working in the Gaza Strip in accordance with international standards.” He further called on the entire world to “ensure that humanitarian aid reaches our steadfast Palestinian people safely and with dignity, rejecting all attempts to tamper with their humanitarian fate.”

The U.N. personnel in Gaza are under the thumb of Hamas. These are Palestinians who ideologically support Hamas — think of how many U.N. staffers in Gaza, especially those teaching in UNRWA schools, have been found to be not just supporters, but members, of Hamas. Furthermore, if they were opposed in any way to the terror group, they would be too scared to express the slightest disagreement with Hamas.

Hamas claims that Israel directly giving food would be “illegal” and “dangerous” for Gazans….

Why would the IDF giving food directly to those who both need and deserve it be “illegal”? Is there some kind of law that designates that Hamas, which, many months ago in this war, seized control of the distribution of humanitarian aid, including food, must be the only body to distribute such aid? Hamas is the enemy of the people of Gaza. It tortures and murders those who dissent from its rule. Its senior leaders — Mousa Abu Marzouk, the late Ismael Haniyeh, the late Yahya Sinwar, Khaled Meshaal — have stolen a total of $14,000,000,000 from the aid meant to be shared by the people of Gaza. Its operatives seize the humanitarian aid trucks as they enter Gaza, and remove much of their cargo, which is then distributed to Hamas members and their families. Hamas keeps some of the aid to resell, at exorbitant prices, to the ordinary Gazans who were supposed to be given that aid for free.

Have you seen any outrage expressed, in any of the major media, at Hamas’ rejecting aid for Gaza if the IDF distributes it? Have you heard of anyone at the U.N., including the egregious Antonio Guterres, who every other day lashes out at Israel for something, condemn Hamas’ refusal to allow in aid unless it has control of it — i.e., unless it can control, confiscate, and resell as much of that aid as it wants?

No, of course not. Israel is now on record as being willing to distribute humanitarian aid in Gaza as long as it is put in charge of that distribution, so that it can prevent Hamas from seizing so much of it. And Hamas is on record as opposing any aid at all coming in to Gaza, if it is guarded by the IDF.

Hamas doesn’t care if some people in Gaza are undernourished. Its operatives, you see, are doing just fine with the aid that over many months they have stored in their own warehouses, for their own people. And its senior leaders are living in luxury hotels in Doha and Istanbul.

This refusal of Hamas to allow in aid that it can’t control or confiscate, and the IDF’s offer to bring in, and distribute that aid to those for whom it was intended, should be the subject of the maiden speech soon to be delivered by the new American ambassador to the U.N.
