A CROOKED PATH

Whoever believes in the Son has eternal life; whoever does not obey the Son shall not see life, but the wrath of God remains on him.

If you don’t like the idea of hell now, you’re really going to hate it when it becomes an eternal reality. Unless you truly repent, truly are transformed by your faith in the Lord Jesus Christ, in God, in the Holy Spirit, and the power of the Holy Spirit to change your heart by your confession of sin, your repentance, your sincere, humbled heart before the Lord, and your conviction to obey the Lord and His Word.

Not a popular thing to say or write these days, and for some years now.

Reality is run from, attempted to be hidden from, painted over in myriad ways — but the paint always fades, peels, and the hard surface of reality eventually shows itself.

Now there was a man of the Pharisees named Nicodemus, a ruler of the Jews. This man came to Jesus by night and said to him, “Rabbi, we know that you are a teacher come from God, for no one can do these signs that you do unless God is with him.” Jesus answered him, “Truly, truly, I say to you, unless one is born again he cannot see the kingdom of God.”

Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewal of your mind, that by testing you may discern what is the will of God, what is good and acceptable and perfect.

Romans 12:2 — English Standard Version

“Let not your hearts be troubled. Believe in God; believe also in me. In my Father’s house are many rooms. If it were not so, would I have told you that I go to prepare a place for you? And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and will take you to myself, that where I am you may be also. And you know the way to where I am going.” Thomas said to him, “Lord, we do not know where you are going. How can we know the way?” Jesus said to him, “I am the way, and the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.

What the Bible Says About Hell

Believe it. And since you are NOT in control of your life, you do NOT know your future, how many more days, or hours you have left, how long the Good and Gracious God continues to bless you with breath, a beating heart in this realm it would behoove any that remain darkness in the darkness of this world, fallen, once perfect but now corrupted by man and woman’s sin — no matter the degree of your sin, how you may believe yourself beyond salvation, or worse not in need of salvation and that you’re not a sinner — to pause. To become quiet and still inside. As best as you can. And to go to the Lord in prayer. Go to the Lord in His Word asking the Holy Spirit to lead you to what you ought to read, what you ought to do.

Eternity is a long, long, long, LONG ∞ time…

Don’t like this? Well, God your Creator and source of life, source of all things you have had, enjoy, and may yet have isn’t so enthralled with your refusal to believe in His Son, the Lord Jesus Christ as the only way to eternal life and salvation. He is not tolerant of our sins forever. There are consequences.

Long lasting ones in a specific place. If not understanding this yet…

And if someone professing to be a Christian but never regenerated, renewed of mind and spirit, born anew — transformed — changed from within by the Supernatural power of God? Just wearing that shiny cross on a chain around your neck and showing up in a church once in a while, or even every Sunday isn’t the “Get Out of Hell” card it may be thought to be. Not enough. Not according to me. According to the Lord…

“Not everyone who says to me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ will enter the kingdom of heaven, but the one who does the will of my Father who is in heaven. On that day many will say to me, ‘Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in your name, and cast out demons in your name, and do many mighty works in your name?’ And then will I declare to them, ‘I never knew you; depart from me, you workers of lawlessness.’”
