Incredible. What, that it is mentioned that human life begins at conception? Well, in a way that in 2024 this is still a subject for any divergent view other than the scientific biological [and Biblical] one.
But that is not what struck me as incredible upon coming upon this fine article by Jonathon Van Maren of The Bridgehead. No, what struck me as incredible is that I’m old enough, and still with a brain that has a good memory, thank the Lord, that upon reading the following article my mind went right to when I was in junior high school, now called middle school most places. This would have been when I was in the 9th grade, in 1967. I was 14 years old. One of my classes that year was simply titled Health. There was a two-inch thick textbook that went with the course. Where I grew up and went to school in Ohio had a very progressive curriculum. Not progressive in how the word is used and understood now, and this ties in directly to why I used the word incredible at the outset. No, progressive in being bold and forward-thinking in the curriculum and how it was operated. Many of the class offerings and the quality of the teachers in the system. This was a period in American history when public schools were still — though beginning to change — schools, places of education rather than indoctrination in specific purely evil teachings.
But I digress, one day in health class we went on a field trip to the Health Museum. Yes, where I grew up in the major city close by there was, and still remains a Health Museum. Prior to this, we had classes on human conception. This was relatively new in American public schools, sex education in its infancy, taught not as it is presently and has been for years now. This was straightforward biological teaching. That still caused quite a ruckus when instituted. My parents had fits when they learned of what I was being taught at school in the 9th grade.
We had films to watch, a textbook to read, tests and quizzes to take, and also that field trip.
There was never a time, at any time, where there was a quandary, a debate, a divergency of thought, discussion, presentation, or teaching as to when human life began back then. It was clearly understood, as it always had been, as it is today if one is of sound mind and willing to speak or write the untainted truth that human life begins when a LIVING MALE SPERM manages to penetrate a LIVING FEMALE EGG. Science has in recent years been able to film this and witnessed an almost electrical, an actual light-emitting event when this human life begins. It is all due to how God created us.
It is only through years of evil pounding away at the truth, at reality, at known science to replace the truth with its lie — for evil, Satan and every person in his service doing his bidding — hate life, hate the family, hate God, and hate the truth and they know that if they lie long enough to enough people, especially when young, their lies will become ingrained truth in the hearts and minds of many — as it has.
No matter that it remains a lie and goes against all reason, fact, logic, rationality, truth, and science.
Not that it goes against the fact a living human male has nothing but life within him just as a living human female has nothing but life within her. And they do not produce dead things, inanimate things coming together that somehow goes into a state of suspension? What?
What is so incredible is how quickly the narrative has changed. What is incredible is being of an age, an awareness to witness the increase of evil and adoption of lies replacing facts, science, the truth, and reality and how quickly and easily so many — so, so many have adopted and approve of and follow the lies, the deceptions they are told.
Are you an individual always in need of signs in order to believe? Well, this particular subject is one glaring in flashing neon a mile high for anyone willing to be open to the truth.
I have a friend, he’s only a few months younger than me, and he is so twisted within his mind, so deceived within by the lies and deceptions of the world and he who reigns over the air, the world for a season whenever this subject has come up between us he always puts forward, “Well, it needs to be determined when life begins.”
My friend, who I continually pray for, is held captive by Satan. Yes, it’s that simple and that true. He is blinded to the truth vainly imagining himself educated, sophisticated, modern, and enlightened when in truth he’s in the utter darkness of the dungeon of hell. We’ve been friends for our lifetimes and always will and I love the guy, but he’s been forever blind to the truth, to life, to God, Jesus, and his faith is in the world and certain people in the world. Sad, so sad. But as long as God blesses him with breath there is the hope he one day comes out from the darkness which is his true habitation and into the light and truth of Jesus and the Holy Bible — as well as the science, the biology known!
No, what needs to be determined, my friend, friends out there, foes, and whoever is that we will no longer allow ourselves to be held captive to darkness, to lies, to deceptions manufactured by evil, pure evil and presented as modern thought, progress, and truth.
Know whereof what you believe is coming. Know the source. And not only the source but the intent of that source in what they are saying, writing, teaching, and preaching.
Do not so easily fall prey to the father of lies, the devil, and all those enslaved to him, all appearing as ministers of light as their master appears as an angel of light when all that resides within him and them is death, darkness, lies and the stench of hell.
Human life begins, has always begun when a living human male sperm penetrates a living human female egg. So simple it was once taught to young students in junior high school, or middle school.
Imagine that.
But the culture of death, the culture of lies, the demonic culture that has arisen and consumed many in a few short years now screams its message and that message has been heard and adopted.
So, those who know the truth must be beacons of light in this dark world, we must be the salt of the earth, truly, and a light in this world of darkness. No matter the repercussions, the persecutions, the taunts — whatever we might face when we speak or write the truth in our knowing the truth.
Obeying God rather than obeying man or woman.

Human life begins at conception. This is a fact, not a partisan bias
August 19. 2024
Reprinted from The Bridgehead
On August 14, the Arizona Supreme Court ruled that an informational pamphlet distributed to Arizona voters in the fall prior to a referendum on whether the state will guarantee a constitutional right to abortion may refer to “unborn human beings.” Abortion activists had been fighting to block such language from being used because dehumanizing the unborn is key to persuading voters to support feticide.
Arizona for Abortion Access had sued the majority-Republican legislative council over the use of the phrase “unborn human being,” insisting that this description was “politicized language”; the Arizona Superior Court had concurred, stating that the phrase was “packed with emotion and partisan meaning.” The Arizona Supreme Court overturned the ruling of the Superior Court, meaning that “unborn human being” will appear in the voter information pamphlet. Unfortunately, the secretary of state’s office has stated that the phrase will not appear on the ballot itself.
“We are deeply disappointed in this ruling but will not be deterred from doing everything in our power to communicate to voters the truth of the Arizona Abortion Access Act and why it’s critical to vote YES to restore and protect access to abortion care this fall,” stated Arizona for Abortion Access. Arizona House Speaker Ben Toma, who co-chairs the legislative council which drafted the language and included “unborn human being,” disagreed. “The Arizona Supreme Court’s ruling is correct,” he said.
It is clear that abortion activists see recognition of the unborn as human beings as a threat to their agenda, which is unsurprising. Arizona for Abortion Access insisted that voters, who will decide the fate of thousands of unborn human beings on November 5 (as will voters in many other states holding abortion referendums), will now be “subjected to biased, politically-charged words developed not by experts but by anti-abortion special interests.”
This brazen lie is worth responding to. An honest media would report the scientific facts relevant to this case – but they won’t, because the facts undermine the abortion agenda by revealing the fact that abortion is an act of violence that brutally ends the life of a human being in the womb. Let me quote from Moore & Persaud’s definitive textbook, The Developing Human: Clinically Oriented Embryology, the 10th edition published in 2016: “Human development begins at fertilization when a sperm fuses with an oocyte to form a single cell, the zygote. [This] marks the beginning of each of us as a unique individual.”
That textbook is used in medical schools across North America. Would Arizona for Abortion Access consider that to be full of “biased, politically-charged words developed not by experts but by anti-abortion special interests”? Or how about the words of Dr. Maureen Condic, Associate Professor of Neurobiology and Anatomy at the University of Utah School of Medicine:
From the moment of sperm-egg fusion [the beginning of fertilization], a human zygote acts as a complete whole with all the parts of the zygote interacting in an orchestrated fashion to generate the structures and relationships required for the zygote to continue developing towards its mature state… The zygote acts immediately and decisively to initiate a program of development that will, if uninterrupted by accident, disease, or external intervention, proceed seamlessly through formation of the definitive body, birth, childhood adolescence, maturity, and aging, ending with death. This coordinated behavior is the very hallmark of an organism.
From fertilization, we do not have a human part – we have, as Condic affirms, a complete human whole. But if even these experts are not enough for Arizona for Abortion Access, I would invite them to consider a 2019 study by Steve Jacobs, which he summarized in an article for Quillette titled “I Asked Thousands of Biologists When Life Begins. The Answer Wasn’t Popular.” Why wasn’t it popular? Well, because, as it turns out, the scientific consensus that life begins at fertilization is iron-clad and overwhelming, a discovery that disturbed many members of the press:
[M]embers of the media were mostly interested in my finding that 96% of the 5,577 biologists who responded to me affirmed the view that a human life begins at fertilization. It was the reporting of this view – that human zygotes, embryos, and fetuses are biological humans – that created such a strong backlash. It was not unexpected, as the finding provides fodder for conservative opponents of Roe v. Wade, the 1973 case in which the U.S. Supreme Court had suggested there was no consensus on ‘the difficult question of when life begins’ and that ‘the judiciary, at this point in the development of man’s knowledge, [was] not in a position to speculate as to the answer.’
The truth about when life begins is not popular because abortion activists wish to deceive the public into thinking that abortion does not kill human beings. The entire controversy would be humorous if it weren’t so depressing. If you go to medical school anywhere in North America, your embryology textbook will inform you that a new, unique, living, and whole human being begins at the moment of fertilization. We know when life begins, and we have known for a very long time.
Even the language we use indicates that we do, in fact, know when life begins. When we say that a child in the womb is “twelve weeks” or “twenty-two weeks,” what are we saying? Twelve weeks from what, exactly? The answer, of course, is obvious – twelve weeks from the beginning of that new human being’s life.
Progressives claim that science is the ultimate standard, and eagerly brandish any new study that confirms a point of view that is currently in vogue with their set. But when science proves that their abortion advocacy is a grotesque push for the violent ending of a human life that has already begun, they angrily demand that the evidence be tossed out so that they can continue to live – and kill – as they wish.
