Does Free Will Really Exist? An Atlantic Debate. - The Atlantic

There are many examples of free will in the whole of God’s Word. From Adam and Even exercising their free will to blatantly disobey God and forfeit their ability to walk and talk with the Lord daily in the cool of the day. To Moses exercising free will to reject the power and treasures of Egypt as he was the most powerful man in Egypt after Pharoh, and on and on example upon example for us. If only we would go to God’s Word and believe, and understand what is read. The question of free will should never come up but is evidence of the vast and powerful working of the Evil One, the Enemy whispering in the minds of men and women his perpetual lies adding to confusion and mayhem. Keeping many people enslaved to him.

There is another excellent example in the Holy Bible that Joshua teaches us, and anyone visiting our home if they look up above the entry door, would see that as for us, by our decision, which we freely made, my wife and I will serve the Lord and not the many false gods of this world;

“Now therefore, fear the Lord, serve Him in sincerity and in truth, and put away the gods which your fathers served on the other side of the River and in Egypt. Serve the Lord! And if it seems evil to you to serve the Lord, choose for yourselves this day whom you will serve, whether the gods which your fathers served that were on the other side of the River, or the gods of the Amorites, in whose land you dwell. But as for me and my house, we will serve the Lord.”

Joshua 24:14-15

Frank Turek always does a brilliant job of explaining all these matters and questions that arise in a succinct and timely manner [I know, I know, I ought to take a lesson from Frank]. The short video below reveals just that.

You’re Not A Robot!

Some people, including the young atheist Alex O’Connor, believe that free will is just a figment of our imagination. But the big question is, are they freely coming to that conclusion? In our video of the week, I explain why a materialistic worldview that sees humans as moist robots is self-defeating—a point C.S. Lewis realized long ago.
