The times are certainly difficult, to put it mildly. At no time in human history have people been witnessing and experiencing what we are presently. And in the history of the world folks have witnessed and lived through some mighty trying, difficult and fearful times.

Fearful for the unsaved.

Why are these days so different and as no other time in human history? Look around. Listen. Whenever was such sexual deviancy, such sexual immorality not only accepted but PUSHED? Promoted? Rammed down the throats of everyone. Changing laws to accommodate and promote every sexual immorality and perversion under the sun? Even during the sexual revolution of the 1960s, it wasn’t close to being as it is now.

Have you looked at what is being taught in schools? To children as young as 4 years old?

Even in the turbulent 60s, the war years of the teens and later 30s into the 40s, 50s, and 60s the murdering of children due to selfishness and rampant sin did not occur due to making the murder of children lawful going against everything in the Word of God and against nature.

Nor was there the burgeoning and growth of all the heretical teachings, the rise of the false teachers, the corrupting and polluting of what passes for Christian churches and Christianity presently.

And these times are difficult?

We haven’t seen anything yet folks. Just wait. It’s just the beginning of the birth pangs.

We have the Great Falling Away taking place.

The laws becoming lawlessness.

People following everything but the truth and lies become the norm.

Once deadly and always dangerous drugs that were unlawful for eons are now legal. Including drugs such as LSD, heroin, and EVERY OTHER DRUG in Oregon and spreading throughout America and Western nations.

Be drugged up constantly. And if not taking the once illegal drugs now made legal? The people of America consume 80% of the prescribed mood-altering “happy” pills annually. We have about 1/6th of the world’s population yet consume 80% of the prescription mood-altering meds.

Difficult times?

We haven’t seen the worst yet. And it’s only going to get worse. And even worse still.

Don’t like this fact? Want it to be better?

Well, forget that happening due to an election, some person arriving on the scene making all the promises of every past person who showed up on the scene and nothing ever really changing — except to get worse.

The ONLY thing that will slow down and even reverse the course we’re on?

A large-scale sincere, honest, repentant, humbling of individuals, turning back to God, turning to Jesus as God and Lord of a person’s life, turning to the Holy Spirit to guide, teach and lead, turning to the whole of the Word of God adding nothing, omitting nothing and having Jesus preeminent and SUFFICIENT. Not needing anything or anyone else — REVIVAL!

And unless that occurs?

Well, best prepare, equip, and make ready.

Because these so-called difficult times are going to soon be called “the good old days” and that isn’t going to take a long time to realize. Think a bit — it was only in 2019 that most folks around the world would call those times “the good old days” wouldn’t they?

Time is moving swiftly.

There is much less time than more time.

People have turned from God, turned from Jesus, turned from the Bible. And the vast majority of those professing to be Christian are the ones I’m now addressing. Refusing to believe all of the Bible. Refusing to acknowledge that Jesus IS fully God and was fully man. The Son of God. And preeminent. Sufficient. No need to look for something new somewhere.

Difficult times?

Just wait…unless there is a massive, true repentance and submitting, humbling before the Lord and becoming true disciples of the Lord Jesus Christ. Believing and living all the Word of God. Not corrupting and perverting the Word as is the fashion today.

Revival. Because this nation, this world is in the ICU on life-support. By God. By the grace and mercy of God. But unless there is acknowledgment? Turning back to God? True repentance? Every word of Bible prophecy will sooner than later be revealed.

You could say, God is going to cut the power. Turn the life-support machine off. Because the patient refused to respond.

Difficult Times

2 Timothy 3:1 “But realize this, that in the last days difficult times will come.” (NASB)

Paul was writing to Timothy who seemed to be discouraged with the way his life and the world were going. In my vernacular Paul seems to be saying, “You haven’t seen anything yet. It is only going to get worse.” The New Bible Commentary: Revised says, “The sinfulness of human self-will will find full, unrestrained expression in deed, word and thought. The practice of reverence, dutifulness, gratitude, love of kindred, and covenant-keeping will cease.”

“The last days” refers to at least two segments of time. First, the time of the church from being birthed at Pentecost until the return of Christ is the most common reference. Second, I believe that the phrase “the last days” in 2 Timothy 3:1, refers to the consummation of the age. So the time in which we live should not take us by surprise, nor unprepared. God, through Paul and Peter’s (2 Peter 3:3-4) writings has warned us that we have not seen anything yet. Even during these difficult times that seem to be worldwide, we can look up because we know “that our redemption is drawing near.”

The truth of this promise is good for any difficult time. If these are not “the last days” before the consummation of the age and these are just difficult days we experience until Christ’s return, we still look up. He is still our Deliverer. He is the Rock of our salvation and He is our Strong and Mighty Tower. We can trust Him in all our “difficult times,” whether they are personal, regional, national, or global like they are now. Remember He is still on the throne regardless of the tidal surge of bad news we seem to be deluged with…and you can trust Him.
