Appeasement Leads to Encouragement

This commentary is directed to any and all professing to be Christian. Disciples of Jesus Christ. Those who profess to believe in and live according to the Holy Bible. Do not let the historical references deter you or misunderstand what this is about, and to whom. History and God’s Word and human nature are all threads knitting the fabric of all things.

I like being clear on definitions to begin with. According to the two dictionaries I turn to, to appease, a verb, means; placate (someone) by agreeing to their demands, to pacify or quiet by giving into the demands of.

Appeasement, a noun, means; 1.) the practice of giving a country what they want in order to avoid war. 2.) the act of making somebody calmer or less angry by giving them what they want.

Even in early 1940, after Nazi Germany had already invaded Czechoslovakia and Poland, there were many in England that believed appeasing Hitler was the answer and would permit Great Britain to carry on as it had. Neville Chamberlin was an appeaser. Had the people listened to him and refused to face the facts most homes in Great Britain today would have a photo of Adolf Hitler hanging on their wall somewhere, rather than a portrait of the queen. Thankfully, there were others who were not appeasers, appealing to unlawful, immoral demands in order to pacify those demanding to have their way, and on May 10th, 1940 Winston Churchill replaced Mr. Chamberlin, and now photos of the queen can remain on numerous walls in the halls and rooms throughout Great Britain. And the lies of the appeaser encouraging evil were removed. Right overcame a dead wrong.

As of December 6th, 1941 the vast majority in America were folks practicing appeasement. Hiding their heads in the sand. Refusing to confront cold hard truths right before their eyes. Thankfully, Franklin Delino Roosevelt was more aware of what was occurring in the world, what Hitler and the Nazi’s really were about, and he made sure America helped feed and supply Great Britain before entering WWII by putting boots, tanks, and brave men on the ground of France on June 6th, 1944.

Ironically, as the bombs, torpedo’s and bullets hit the steel of the U.S. Navy ships in Pearl Harbor, and tore through the flesh of many men, with over 2,400 dying, and many more wounded, the denial, the self-involvement, the hiding ones head in the sand, the appeasement of evil took a 180 degree turn.

A horrible indictment it took such an act, such acts to move people from being pacifiers, appeasers, to finally having the scales removed from their eyes, to come out of their daze, their fog, and to finally see the light of what truly was. Why does it take utter destruction, death, a turn from which there is no going back in order for people to finally wake up and smell their $5.00 latte?

Appeasement leads to encouragement, which then brings about whatever evil is present pushing its will to think it is justified, correct in its attack and smarter than what it prevailed against. Leading to removal of either that who, or that which existed prior to evil demanding it get its way. Those who placated, fell prey to the appeasing getting devoured, consumed, or having to yield to such a degree to no longer be recognizable. Not being any different than that or those which it once appeared totally different from.

Appeasing to is related to appealing to.

Oh, let’s refresh, if not familiar with this place, or my commentary over the years, with a spiritual fact I am redundant about. There are only two options, two choices, two paths for every single living person on earth. There have only been two choices, two options towards EVERYTHING on earth FOR EVERYONE ever since Adam and Eve. To either obey and serve the Lord. Or to obey and serve he who has dominion on this earth for a season, the Evil One. Period. No matter what any ancient philosopher might have written or said, no matter what any 19th, 20th, or 21st century psychologist, talking head and so-called expert in any discipline might have said or written there are no third, fourth and into infinity as many as there have been and are folks on earth choices, options, path so on to take. Only 2 for everybody. Only two paths to place our feet and lives upon and walk.

An illustration of the synapses taking place in the human brain might appear like there are infinite neurological paths to take, so many options, no central nervous system, no stem, no single cord containing and allowing what appears an infinite and individual helter skelter of activity all going its own way — but that would be deception, Erroneous. All those firing neurons, synapses, all that appearing individual activity is directly tied to, dependent, serving a central nervous system. A core. And when some disease, some foolish activity brings in injury? Because of a malfunction? Something occurring that should not have occurred in health, how things were created and founded? And that disease, that injury breaks the cord? Breaks with the central system making everything work?

Well, we all know what that means and leads to do we not?

There are only two paths, two choices for every single person to go in this life. Either a person walks on the narrow with the Lord, with His word, serving Him — or they walk on the big wide highway of the world and he who collects to tolls on that road which is smoother, appears a better way to go, but at its end leads to falling into a bottomless pit and a fiery, forever deadly crash.

There are no gray areas. No off ramps in life. No true vacations from all the choices made, how we spend our time, where our hearts and minds are, what our priorities are, how we speak, how we fashion ourselves. We either do so, walking on the narrow with the Word of God constantly illuminating that one path avoiding the darkness all around, or we relent, appease, appeal to, fold and take the 48 lane, freshly paved, no stop lights, totally full bore go as you want wide path and pay that paths tolls.

This is the only road map of life for every single person.

No backroads. Can’t detour and go your own way. No matter who you are, what you might do, no matter your station in life, no matter what might arise in your mind (and know where those thoughts emanate from…) Because, even as Bob Dylan knows;

When we determine the inerrant, infallible, living and active Word of God doesn’t suit us? We like and agree with this part, maybe that one? But we don’t like or agree with those verses? That passage? That apostles writing, that book? We begin to think it irrelevant to our times? We think we know better than God, Jesus, the Holy Spirit, the apostles and prophets who were divinely led to write the God-breathed words they did by the Mighty Spirit of God working within them? We think we know better than all of that? The Scriptures are just some out of touch ancient book? And we fail to see we are living in Biblical times? We are living in the pages of the Bible right now? The last of the last days? Woe to any an all who go down that dark, evil laden path to utter destruction!
 
Let’s stop pussyfootin’ around thinking we’re so much more educated, refined, sophisticated than any previous culture or peoples that preceded us. There is no new thing under the sun. Ever. Human nature has never changed since it revealed itself in the Garden with Adam and Eve. Human nature has not evolved, progressed or altered one iota since that time. All that has ever changed is technology. Man’s knowledge increasing and finding new materials, new ways to do things, build things, how to get around, how to kill more efficiently and such. How to go from having to always button pants to now we have zippers. And instead of everyone needing a horse, a mule, a camel we now have horsepower contained under sheet metal. But not one aspect of human nature has changed. We are no different in any way, shape or form internally, in our minds, in our hearts than those that lived prior to the flood, that lived during the time of Moses, that lived during the time of king David, that lived during Roman, Greek, any cultures times. That lived and thought as the people did when our Lord was here for His first visible time.
 
No different. Let’s stop thinking we and our time is so different that we need to continue to erode and thus remove the foundations.
 
Now, in these Biblical times of we’d rather appease evil? Thinking we’re doing the Lord’s work by not judging? When we’re instructed to test every spirit, to rightly divide the Word, to ask for spiritual wisdom, spiritual understanding, spiritual knowledge, spiritual discernment — in ALL THINGS? To judge wisely? To use the good brains God created each of us with and not park them in neutral idling away?
 
Why? Because we’re more fearful of offending someone than we are of displeasing the Lord or going against His Word? We think if we appease we can fill up the seats in our churches? We can make more Chrisitans? We can save people? Oh, it’s okay if we permit female pastors, female elders and females leading men in a church.
 
Oh, it’s okay if we allow openly practicing lesbians, homosexuals, bisexuals, transgenders and the sexually perverted and immoral going against God and nature to shepherd flocks. No problem, right? At least people are coming to church! And they wouldn’t otherwise. So we need to overlook their complete, open smack in the Word of God sin and think we’re doing God’s work in tolerating sin, permitting such corruption and appeasement to evil within the body of Christ.
 
Oh, it’s okay to permit witchcraft, sorcery and Satan in? No problem!?
 
Are we listening to the Head? Or only what’s in our heads which are being filled by false teachers? Worldly ways, worldly advice, worldly ideologies?
 
Appeasement always, always, ALWAYS only leads to encouragement and growth of evil in its unquenchable appetite to replace the truth with its cunning lies of making things better, bringing peace, creating a better, more equal, free world.
 
The serpent appealed to Adam and Eve. They appeased the devil disobeying, believing the liar, desiring to please him more than anything else imagining it would be good, the right thing to do. And heaven on earth, paradise, communion with God, eternal life as initially created by God, Jesus, and the Holy Spirit Creators of all things ceased. Corruption. Perversion. Lies. Pain. Death. Destruction entered.
 
Nothing has changed from the moment the nature within Adam and Eve chose to appease evil and fall for its appealing pleas, its lies. Encouraging evil to rise up and grow within them.
 
There is no new thing under the sun — except technology and the increasing knowledge of man — but not one iota, not one speck of human nature has ever changed. And anyone, everyone who shouts, whispers, professes, works for appeasement only encourages escalating evil leading more to eternal death rather than to eternal life and placing their feet on the narrow path where few walk having the inerrant, infallible living and active Word of God illuminate their walk, that path.
 
There is no appeasement within God’s Word. Unless example upon example of how appeasement always leads to encouragement of evil and brings about a downfall, destruction, separation from God, Jesus and the Holy Spirit and thus in the end bringing the second death — eternal death.
 
Want to be an appeaser? A man pleaser? And walk that wide road?
 
Or obey the Lord? His will revealed throughout His Word.
 
Because, we all gotta serve somebody, and it may be the devil, or it may be the Lord, but no matter who we are, where we are, what we think we are, we all are serving either the devil or the Lord.
 
Search the Scriptures to know — to KNOW what pleases and is acceptable to God the Father, Jesus the Lord, and the Holy Spirit. SEARCH THE SCRIPTURES and cast aside the appealing lies of appeasement whispered, shouted, demanded by the world encouraging he who appears as an angel of light, as do his ministers leading millions to that second death and an eternity in hell unless they come to the Light, the Life, the Way, the Truth… Jesus Christ the Lord and Him and His word alone.
 
And the devil is more active within the church, within the mind and life of professed Christians than he is at the corner bar. That strip club you want closed down. So on. He has those in darkness already enslaved. He doesn’t need to work on them. They are already bound in his heavy chains of lies and oppression. Satan and his ministers don’t need to spend their time on them. They are his. He puts his time in, in eroding and tearing those professing to be the Lord’s from the truth. From the Word.
 
Let us, none of us, give into, placate, appease the demands we clearly know are evil and wrong according to God’s Word. Ever. No matter how cunning, how appealing, how amazing the appeal from the world may appear.
 
Who do you serve?
 
Really?
 
Because it’s either the devil, or it’s the Lord and there are no others to serve.
