It all appears so helpful, so interesting, and even fun right now. Doesn’t it? Or does it?

AI.

Aye, yeh,yeh, AI!

Nothing benign about it. If you recall more than a few AI endeavors have had to be shut down due to it rapidly developing its own language and beginning to converse in that unrecognizable language to any human being, even its creators, what the machines were saying to each other.

AI has already been and is being implemented to go far beyond the ChatGPT bot and other such basic, first forays into the technology.

First a mayor, in a joint venture. “VIC” may be novel now, even funny to think about as written below. But AI has not been created to be amusing or merely novel. Once the novelty wears off then what? Then AI is going where? Because AI technology just like every technology today is expanding, compounding, and growing at a rate faster than the people working with it can keep up. Don’t believe this? Look it up and do a bit of homework. I don’t write or publish fabrications and lies here. Technological advancements, the speed at which new things are appearing is a a rate that would normally take 100 years to develop what we are. It is now being done in 10 years. And within a couple of years what once took a century or more of technological discovery and advancement to accomplish will occur within 5 years. Think about that. Go someplace quiet. Peaceful. Without holding onto your mobile phone, take those ridiculous earbuds out of your ears, and take time to seriously think about what that means.

I don’t usually know well in advance something that I’m going to personally write about and publish here, and on the rare occasion I do know in advance and perhaps have a title, a sentence that came to me, a thought or perhaps a few bits more I do not report that here prior. Because it could turn out something happens and I do not continue with it, or the Lord could come and gather us and then you’d — well, if a Christ follower as I am it wouldn’t matter at all to you, or to me, but what of the poor soul left behind?

So, I do not publish anything writing, “Hey, guess what I’m working on and going to publish here!?”

But, what I’m currently working on and hope to publish here, providing I keep interested in it, think it turns out well enough and makes a modicum of sense that at least six people would read it, providing Jesus tarries a bit longer and we don’t exit stage upwards! I’m writing a piece titled; AIntichrist.

It begins in one town, one place…

And once the door is thrust open and what is outside is invited in there is never getting it out and it will only remain, grow, and well…just look around. See all the lonely lost people. All the lies, confusion, delusion, rebellion, noise and distractions. Hear it, feel it, smell it. For there is no escaping it while here on earth and everything escalates among the reprobate, wicked, unrighteous minds and people turned from God to their own ways thinking their ways are right, of course they do, it’s all according to their own sight, their own faulty standards which are set by them — refusing the ways and Word of God.

Seems benign, doesn’t it?

Even funny.

Well, just wait.

An AI is officially running to be mayor

Voters in Cheyenne Wyoming take to the polls Tuesday to elect their next mayor. Amid the six candidates for the position, one in particular stands out: Victor Miller, who is running on the promise to make all of the local government’s decisions using a customized ChatGPT bot, dubbed VIC (Virtual Integrated Citizen). The two are ostensibly running in tandem.

“I’m running for mayor to bring innovative technology and data-driven decision-making to Cheyenne,” VIC generated to Wyoming News via email. The two would take a “hybrid approach” if elected. VIC would provide data-driven insight and analysis, as well as “unbiased” decision-making, while Miller would serve as the de facto mayor and ensure that “all actions are legally and practically executed.”

“It’s about blending AI’s capabilities with human judgment to effectively lead Cheyenne,” the bot told The Guardian. VIC also noted that it has no political affiliations. When asked about its decision making process at an event earlier in the year, VIC laid out a multistep plan involving the use of AI to gather public opinion data and constituent commentary at town hall meetings, consult with subject matter experts and evaluate the potential repercussions of its decisions on actual people.

Whether Miller and VIC can even appear on the ballot has been a hotly contested issue. “Wyoming law is clear than an AI bot cannot run for office,” Wyoming Secretary of State Chuck Gray wrote during his investigation earlier in the summer.

“To allow VIC to be listed as a candidate would both violate Wyoming law and create voter confusion,” county clerk Debra Lee expanded. “VIC is not a registered voter. Therefore, VIC cannot run for office in Wyoming and the name does not appear on Laramie county’s official ballot.”

Despite the controversy, Cheyenne officials have allowed the hybrid duo to run for office, though only Miller’s name will appear on the actual ballot. Their reasoning is that it doesn’t matter if Miller gets his advice from humans or AI, so long as he’s actually running for the position.
