Evil attempts to justify, legitimize the premeditated murder of human beings. In the rampant descent into depravity, immorality by blind justification by world leaders who shout loud enough and are cunning orators to mesmerize an entire nation, or by nations making the immoral, the unlawful legal. Sin grows as righteousness shrinks in silence appearing otherwise occupied. Photos caption provide by the administrator of A Crooked Path and did not appear in the original article. I felt people needed to see the reality even though they could not hear it, smell it, actually be a part of it — though we all are, aren’t we?

Holocausts

January 27, 2022 is International #HolocaustRemembranceDay. It is a day to remember the tragic loss of 6 million Jewish lives during WWII. The goal is to stop prejudice and hatred from taking root in our world in the years to come.

Eight decades after the Holocaust, people worldwide paused to remember and honor the memory of Europe’s Jews, who had been targeted for destruction.

One clear goal of Holocaust Remembrance Day is to see to it that this kind of tragedy never happens again in our world. Tragically, this goal has not been accomplished.

Sadly, another holocaust is taking place in our world.

This holocaust is called legalized abortion. It began in 1973, in the landmark Supreme Court case, Roe v. Wade.

Like the horrific holocaust of Europe that happened during World War II, this one also singles out a certain population. The World War II holocaust singled out Jewish people and certain other groups. The present-day holocaust singles out children in the womb. Jews from all over Europe were shipped in cattle cars to concentration camps where there was no escape. Likewise, in today’s holocaust against the unborn, there is no escape from the murderers. Children in the womb can’t run away. They cannot hide. Nor can they protest to the world on their own behalf.

These children are at the mercy of their mothers. How tragic it is that we live in a world so deceived and misled that the very ones charged to love, care for, and protect the unborn are the ones who are choosing to have them murdered.

Hitler’s holocaust ended with the close of World War II. Praise God that it did come to an end.  But by the time it had ended, more than 6 million Jewish people had been murdered.

Tragically, the present-day holocaust of abortion is at this moment still ongoing. And the death toll at this moment is dramatically higher than the Jewish holocaust. The death toll of the American holocaust against the unborn stands at no less than 62 million babies.

What a tragedy it is to consider that the US has destroyed more than ten times the number of Jews that Nazi Germany destroyed during WWII. Some might consider it offensive to compare America to Hitler’s Germany. But when you look at the numbers, America’s holocaust against the unborn makes Hitler’s holocaust pale in comparison.

Most Americans consider their country to be a Christian nation. The Bible plainly says,

You shall not murder (Exodus 20:13).

I call heaven and earth to witness against you today, that I have set before you life and death, blessing and curse. Therefore choose life, that you and your offspring may live, loving the Lord your God, obeying his voice and holding fast to him, for he is your life and length of days, that you may dwell in the land that the Lord swore to your fathers, to Abraham, to Isaac, and to Jacob, to give them (Deuteronomy 30:19-20).

Rescue those who are being taken away to death; hold back those who are stumbling to the slaughter. If you say, “Behold, we did not know this,” does not he who weighs the heart perceive it? Does not he who keeps watch over your soul know it, and will he not repay man according to his work? (Proverbs 24:11-12)

Open your mouth for the mute, for the rights of all who are destitute. Open your mouth, judge righteously, defend the rights of the poor and needy (Proverbs 31:8-9).

They sacrificed their sons and their daughters to the demons; they poured out innocent blood, the blood of their sons and daughters, whom they sacrificed to the idols of Canaan, and the land was polluted with blood (Psalm 106:37-38).

Many people recognized the wickedness of the Jewish holocaust and got involved with what was called the Resistance.

They helped hide Jewish people before they were shipped to concentration camps. And many of these persons were a part of the church.

However, not all who were in the “church” were a part of the resistance.

There was an occasion in which there was a group of young Christians who were considering getting involved with the Resistance. These persons asked their pastor what they should do. He told this group of young people “If you know who you are, you will know what to do.” This meant breaking the law.

Based on the wisdom of God’s Word, there are clearly times when a law that is wicked, evil, and unjust, should be disobeyed (Read Exodus 1:15–22).

A question that believers could certainly ask today is “If I had lived in Nazi Germany, what would I have done? Would I have helped to hide Jewish people, help them escape, given them food, clothing, shelter, etc.? What would I have done?”

A fruitful way to answer this question, is asking another question: “What am I doing to help save babies from the slaughter of abortion today?” This is OUR present-day holocaust.

Tragically our present administration is helping to lead the charge to continue this wicked agenda. And not only is this administration committed to this agenda here in America, but they are also committed to exporting it to other nations as well.

Let us as the church of Jesus Christ, repent for our apathy, negligence, and disobedience in addressing the life issue. Let us rise up and pray for our nation and our leaders that they too would repent of the grave wickedness of supporting abortion.

And let us as the church choose to get passionately involved with the rescue of babies in ways that we can, and the support of vital ministries like pregnancy centers and other pro-life ministries that are doing critical things to help save babies’ lives.

Let us in righteousness and justice, as the church and the nation, choose to end this holocaust that we call abortion.
