A few Notes by Ken Pullen —
In the five plus years A Crooked Path has existed, a little less time than I became renewed of mind and spirit and a disciple of Jesus Christ, giving God our Father thanks in all things, I have repeatedly been told I’m too hard. I’m not nice. I’m difficult to swallow. Where’s the love? Where’s all the happy, happy, happy smiley face stuff so-called professed “Christians” have been fed and become malnourished, misled, and used to?
Well, it isn’t here. This is a place, with the help of the Spirit of God, along the straight and narrow leading to life; “for wide is the gate, and broad is the way, that leadeth to destruction, and many there be which go in thereat: Because strait is the gate, and narrow is the way, which leadeth unto life, and few there be that find it.”
Jesus Christ the Lord spoke those words. Why do almost every person professing faith over the past 50 years disregard and ignore those words, and instead listen to their favorite false teachers leading to their deaths?
Get off the crowded Interstate where most are, and where you’re going to crash, burn, and die!
Get on the narrow path. Oh, yeah, it isn’t as much FUN, it isn’t all smiles and giggles and feeling good according to the world, BUT IT IS THE ONLY PATH TO LIFE — and better to be one of the few who make it than the many who perish, is it not? No matter how difficult and long the journey?
What passes for Christianity in these last days is NOT according to Scripture. Today’s Christianity is nothing but worldly liberalism and permissiveness. No sacrificing. No suffering. What passes for Christianity is chock full of false ministers, false teachers, false prophets, unsound doctrine and false teachings. All to make people “feel good.” Smile. Have fun. Let’s have Ishtar egg hunts at the church! It’ll be fun and who cares if it goes against the Word of God! We like it! Let’s do it! If it feels good and makes us smile so what?
Well, keep that belief in your heart and mind instead of heeding the instruction of the Word of God and be one of the many spending eternity in hell.
What’s that? I’m being judgmental and going against the Word of God? No, perhaps you ought to begin to read, heed, understand, and follow the inerrant Word of God while God our Father gives you a few more heartbeats and breaths and you still have opportunity to get off the Interstate of death and onto the narrow and straight path leading to life!

Commentary by — John W. Ritenbaugh
(13) Enter ye in at the strait gate: for wide is the gate, and broad is the way, that leadeth to destruction, and many there be which go in thereat: (14) Because strait is the gate, and narrow is the way, which leadeth unto life, and few there be that find it.

These verses lead into His teaching on false prophets. From its context, it appears that Jesus says that false ministers will neither acknowledge or teach the narrow way that leads to life, the narrow way that leads to persecution. Instead, they will do just what God shows the Old Testament false prophets did: They will teach “peace, peace”—the smooth, easy, and broad way.
In other words, they will teach that Christians need make no sacrifices in their obedience to God. It is so interesting that, in the last few years in the church, so many things have been liberalized. Are we getting away from the straight and the narrow, the difficult and the sacrificial way?
